I really wonder if Plouffe and Dozier are thinking about their futures at all watching today.

Sano is just so athletic out there fielding ground balls.

Where's DiscGolfer?

You'll have to make up for his absence. Pull out that whiskey and get to it.

Same with Suzuki if Centeno stays hot at the plate.

At my place, and I'll be showing the following movies to prove my point:

The English Patient

I'll be on the patio for this one,   getting ready for my audience participation tribute to the title character...

I imagine Chief feigning reluctance before agreeing to assist,   but that may be my excessive faith in others talking...

I did just pour myself a glass of wine. #ClassySunday

Play of the week stuff for Nunez

I've spent many hours trying to teach kids to sit while fielding grounders.

It never occurred to me to ask them to sit all the way down tho.

Heh, actually, for that movie, I'll be joining you. I hate that movie. I only put it on the list because it's so highly rated.

Pfft ... Ripple is not really considered classy.

Just so long as to keep it scientifically viable, we also watch Airplane! as the control...

Absolutely. It pales by comparison to every single one of those on my list.

See, I KNEW it!

I have too much respect for you to have to adjust my worldview to one in which you would voluntarily choose to watch "The English Patient" ahead of "Airplane."

Or ahead of a root canal sans novocaine, for that matter.

Bauer has a pretty filthy curve ball himself. Made Sano look unathletic...

Sano unathletic? That means you have to spit out what you're drinking.

I would actually choose root canal over either of those.

At my place, and I'll be showing the following movies to prove my point:

When Harry Met Sally

Pretty Woman

An Affair to Remember

Sleepless in Seattle

Bridesmaids

Muriel's Wedding

Bridget Jones' Diary

Across the Universe

The English Patient

Under the Tuscon Sun

Must Love Dogs

The Truth About Cats and Dogs

The Lake House

Terms of Endearment

Thelma and Louise

Beaches

The Princess Bride

All chick flicks ... ALL better on every level than Airplane.

3 of them are "good" and not really chick flicks. The rest are movies my wife puts on when she wants me to leave the room

Bert:  "Go out and play baseball, you'll learn so much from winning and losing."

Me:  "I learned winning beats the $*(# out of losing."

Curious to know which ones you think aren't chick flicks? Chick flicks can still be enjoyed by men, just like sophomoric guy flicks can be enjoyed by women.

Marney brings up a good point on Play Ball weekend.. Who would win in the 1st annual Twins Daily home run derby?

I can say I've had 2 career home runs hit over a fence in my illustrious baseball career.

The only thing that made the movie remotely tolerable for me was the de Havilland Tiger Moth.

The grace,  the beauty,   the relentless,   Freddie Krueger-esque elimination of main characters...

Hey Now

The English Patient is chock full of memorable movie quotes that people repeat to this day.

For Example:

Umm

Something about Maps and Geography and hating them.

The quotes have stood the test of time

Yes Leave the Room.

Sometimes so quickly you don't bother to look for a door.

If it was the same format, having someone toss you easy pitches, I'd still go for Sano as the winner, followed closely by both Arcia and Park.

I had what I like to call "good gap power."
