Oof. That lineup. Why is Mastroianni leading off? Why is Park still hitting behind Plouffe?

Plouffe: .236/.263/.681

Park: .268/.344/.942

Why is Park not in the 4 hole? Why in the hell does Molitor keep batting him 5th or 6th? This is starting to anger me (more).

Will watch and hang in the game thread until the Dunning-Kruger effect returns. So I'll hope for an early lead.

Nice to see Polanco get in.

Mastroianni predictably gets struck out by Chris Sale to start the game.

Why did Molitor think it was a good idea to have him lead off the game? I don't think I've ever seen such poor lineup construction, even with Gardy.

I highly doubt it. It's what happens when you finally don't get on base in a game.  Last night was the first time this season he failed to do so :-)

And a lefthander on the mound that looks like he's throwing from 1st Base.

No Problem... All the Twins pitching staff has to do is shut them down and it's over.

I heard Byron Buxton ran right past Nyquist

Yes Buxton is that fast

Gustav Nyquist was on skates and that may have helped Buxton a little.

Even when you're as awful as Chris Sale against the Twins, Sazuki cures all.

It's the old... "Slow, poor hitting catchers cannot bat 9th" rule of thumb.

Because slow, poor hitting catchers are always clogging the bases with their OBP and causing all the fast runners behind them to gain fewer bases. So that's why you bat them 8th. :)

Yeah... Those players should bat One Thousand.  :)
