How often are squeeze plays successful?  If that ball is hit a little softer or throw isn't on the money, Shane is probably safe.

A squeeze was logical. If it fails, you've basically grounded out and live to hit again. (The Twins rarely squeezed though, do they?)

Or it turns into a double play...

I know it's the right play to bunt the runner to third base with no one out however in this era of weak contact and strikeouts I don't even like that play. It's hard to score a runner from third without a hit anymore.

Molitor bunts in nonsensical innings, and won't squeeze with a bad hitter?  With one out, and little to lose?  Bad baseball.

Nothing to lose?  

 

Squeeze plays are not automatic.  You had the winning run on third with one out.  There's a reason squeeze plays are rare.
