Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Strange. I have complete confidence that Gibby (the pitcher) is going to continue to throw BBs and shut down their guys. And I'm getting that same confidence in the whole staff day by day. So different than the past four years. As Gibby (the moderator) put it above, with his over-the-top exhuberance: "This is fun." EDIT ADD: And the hittin's not bad, either.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 The Tigers must be looking at the Twins lineup right now and thinking, " crap, this could be a long few years".They had their fun over the last 5 years. Now to quote Herb Brooks "It's OVER."
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Beating the Tigers is almost as much fun as beating the White Sox. Almost.True, but I miss when AJ Pierzynski was on the White Sox. That made beating them so much better...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Joe Mauer should be more willing to take walks, with Sano hitting after him.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I'm developing a nitpicky pet peeve. Baseball people, of all people, should be better at pronouncing hispanic names. In Spanish, s is pronounced s. Z is pronounced z. S is not pronounced z. Rosario is pronounced Rosario, not Rozario.I have another complaint: Per-EZ. Can't anybody say Pear'ez?

spinowner Provisional Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 The Tigers can't handle the Plouffe!
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 If I'm Terry Ryan I think I'm looking at bullpen real hard at the deadline and that may be it. Unless there is any doubt about Sano for the stretch run. Then I'm looking for one big time power bat. Jay Bruce would be the one I'd target.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 You can't throw Plouffe a beach ball down the middle...
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Plouffe cuts and pastes the ball into the bullpen. (Have we had a CBU o' late?) 7-1 w/ 2 out in the bottom of the fifth.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Number 24 with a bullet. I know what you're thinkin'.Did we score 6 runs, or only 5...
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 No Stride Swing Ala Denard Span... Less Mechanics to keep in line. Just spin on it. Both guys got tutoring from Paul Molitor to develop a super-quick swing. It's paying off very well.
jimbo92107 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Trevor Plouffe, you are officially HOT!
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 The Tigers can't handle the Plouffe! We need him at third base! We want him at third base!
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Call down to the bullpen and let Duensing know he may be used at some point this afternoon.
mikecgrimes Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 I was very confident this was a playoff team going into spring training, a little less as spring training sent along and was just hoping for .500 after Santana's suspension. This is a solid roster the last 4 years made us realist, but this team was worthy of expectations to at worst stay in the wild card race through July.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 If you're Terry Ryan you listen to me real hard,Do something about that damn bullpen. If I'm Terry Ryan I wonder what the game thread setups would look like?
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 If I'm Terry Ryan I wonder what the game thread setups would look like?Too basebally.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 If I'm Terry Ryan I wonder what the game thread setups would look like? This. Whoever has the GT after the AS break ... do it. Hey, that's you, RB! Somehow I see SSo1 stepping up to the plate sooner ... but we'll see.
Vanimal46 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Call down to the bullpen and let Duensing know he may be used at some point this afternoon. On 2nd thought, we may need another 3 runs to feel confident in bringing out Duensing.
formerly33 Verified Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Somehow I see SSo1 stepping up to the plate sooner ... but we'll see.And by this I mean no offense, but I only joined TD just recently and I don't know if RB makes a habit of practicing impersonation in is OP's. However ... RB is a master of all arts and could do it if he would do it.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 Too basebally. (as Terry Ryan) #5 -- I was talking with Dave St. Peter last night. He was thinking that hot dog prices were probably low in comparison to other parks. I told him I didn't care.
twinsnorth49 Old-Timey Member Posted July 12, 2015 Posted July 12, 2015 On 2nd thought, we may need another 3 runs to feel confident in bringing out Duensing. What, and cheat Trevor May out of vulturing another W?
