Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 He has not forgotten the face of his father... (and kudos to whoever picks up the reference)All I watch is baseball, so it won't be me
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 That applies to most rookies... All the talent in the world... Just don't know how to use that talent yet.Yes and no, Arcia's pitch selection is pretty bad. Until he improves he is going to see nothing but sliders low and outside.
David HK Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 And by gum, (says the man born in the 50's), those classic uniforms- That's what a baseball uni looks like. I hate those pajamas they're wearing this year.
d-mac Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Great... Duensing coming in to face Cespedes. That's just asking for it.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Are you referring to the movie? 20 questions. No (19) Er, just checked imdb. I'm right.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Are you referring to the movie? 20 questions. And i should pester ya about checkin' the boxes, as i didn't pick up on that...
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Great... Duensing coming in to face Cespedes. That's just asking for it.Favorable splits.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Great... Duensing coming in to face Cespedes. That's just asking for it. Baseball is a funny game... Ain't it?
DaveW Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Duensing looking solid lately! I don't want him in the 8th in a close game, but if he can be a solid 6th/7th guy for a while it helps this bullpen immensely.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Pretty good job by the beleaguered left hander.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Yes and no, Arcia's pitch selection is pretty bad. Until he improves he is going to see nothing but sliders low and outside. Very true... Arcia was a guy who had a pretty extended run in the bigs. There was a time when he didn't have AAA waiting for him like the grim reaper. Arcia is a guy who would just rather hit the ball 500 miles and now AAA is where he is.
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Who was that guy pitching, and does Brian Duensing know someone stole his uniform?
d-mac Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Baseball is a funny game... Ain't it? Pulled that one out his butt. Duensing should never face righties. But yet he does.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Hicks is also having some decent bats in this go round. When Buxton comes off the DL. I have a feeling Hicks will stick. That means Buxton goes down to the minors or Sugar Shane is cut loose. Unless injury occurs.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I still wonder why they keep playing "My Angel is a Centerfold" as fire-up music.
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 Oh yeah, workin' 9-5 cbu. Detroit scored when Twins couldn't finish a double play with runners at the corners. And i was wondering, with words like detox, delay, deflower, deflate, what was removed to make Detroit?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 No (19) Er, just checked imdb. I'm right.Er... maybe not. It's not a feature at any rate.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I still wonder why they keep playing "My Angel is a Centerfold" as fire-up music. The J. Geils Band usually fires me up. Prefer the 70's J. Geils to the 80's but yeah... they fire me up.

Unless injury occurs.Yeah, buxton should be sent to AAA, he didn't look "ready" in his earlier cup of coffee, which is fine of course. Let him go to AAA dominate, bring him up in sept and let him be a real nice bench option in the playoffs.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 It used to be Boxing was the Sport to be followed. That has progressed to Ultimate Fighting probably being bigger than Boxing. It's obvious that Hunger Games type stuff is next.

sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Author Posted July 11, 2015 I still wonder why they keep playing "My Angel is a Centerfold" as fire-up music. My take... It's lively and repetitive. (I was noticing it too, but didn't place it until ya named it)
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 No Bay City Rollers for you, I bet. Typically... No But I do know the words to Saturday night
Cap'n Piranha Verified Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 I'm calling it now, Fien will give up at least one run in the 8th, forcing Perkins to get the save

Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 BTW... Bark has made a Conga Line Rally inspired by Sample Size Photo that I will post at the end of the Game... He couldn't game thread today so he emailed it to me. It's absolutely Awesome. I can't post it now since I don't know what kind of power it has and the Twins are ahead. I'd hate to deploy it at the wrong time and get the opposite effect... It is a rally photo after all
ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted July 11, 2015 Posted July 11, 2015 Speaking of 9 to 5. Everyone (everyone) always (always) refers to "day jobs" as "9 to 5." But (but) whoever actually has worked from 9 to 5? I (me) have always worked (in those circumstances) from 8 to 5.
