You need a quicker release... Running toward the dugout on the first base side is way too long of a setup before throwing and you'll have to throw across your body to get it to third.

 

Unless you thought it was third out... In that case... You are the catcher... The QB of the defense... And that means you can't make that mistake.

I think it was a clever plot to bate the runner into coming home when he saw it was uncovered.

If there is a poll for most suburban metro area, Salt Lake City has my vote. Midvale is just one of a sequence of indistinguishable jurisdictions south of the center of the city. Maybe your explanation is why.
