Happy Birthday, Bark! 40 is nothing! :)

And I bring you birthday greetings amidst tornado sirens pealing … not sure exactly where a tornado is spotted … phone says 'in your area' … but that could mean somewhere in the burbs, which is where whatever is going likely is. In any case, I'm watching out the window and not hiding in my bathtub, or an inner hallway. :)

Be safe. By now I would have figured Oprah would have funded some kind of forcefield project that would shield downtown Chicago from nefarious weather events.

My copy of the thread has only 8 players. I realize winning breeds confidence, but spotting them a CF might be overplaying our hand!

Picky, picky, picky ...

Got too enthralled listening to tornado sirens and wanting/hoping to see some action from my balcony I hurried through the lineups.

Wish they hadn't built all those buildings directly west. Might've seen something off in the distance otherwise.

But no rotating clouds near me.

Interesting lineup announced; May batting 8th ahead of Buxton.

I agree that this is interesting. I guess Molitor wants Buxton ahead of Dozier in the later innings instead of Buxton ahead of a pinch hitter.

I hope the Twins can at least split this series with StL. Somehow I expect that they'll lose 3 of 4 or even be swept...

@MikeBerardino: Indeed, this is the first time in #MNTwins history that the starting pitcher is batting 8th.

@Me Although Walter Johnson did a few times back in the old days, per the article linked above.

Happy Birthday shout outs to Trevor Plouffe and Ice Cube!

On this day 40 years ago, The person you know as Bark's Lounge was also born. Bark has mixed feelings about this milestone. Melancholy is probably the word I'd choose.

If the Twins get this game in today, they better damn well win and Plouffe better hit 3 home runs and I can assure everyone that I will then celebrate by listening to the song "Straight Outta Compton" and drinking a 40oz. of Eightball.

Burn Em' Down!!!

Happy birthday my friend.

5. Photographs -- There were a few picture of me taken during my two week road trip. I'm gonna have to lose some weight. Those photos of me are still printing.

As a general rule of thumb, do not print your photos in a 3D printer.

Yah, well, when you reach my age, 40 will be your "wonder years." As in "I wonder why I still did stupid stuff when I was 40."

And then you'll realize it couldn't have been all that stupid because you're still around to think about those salad days.

Turning 40 is MUCH better than the alternative of stopping to age.......

Yeah, turning 40 is nothing. I remembered once when i turned 1300. Vaguely. It was when i read War and Peace for Russian Lit. At least i'm pretty sure it was more than 1300 pages long...

I admit i don't remember very much. I'll have to do it again sometime...

But really, it isn't you getting older, it's the rest of the world getting younger and perhaps a little bit more foolish. Hard to say...

Anyone know any good jokes or riddles whilst we wait at the weather's beck and call?I got one (joke, not riddle) i've been ponderin' inspired by something gibby said a while ago...

Bring it on.

Bring it on.

So Gibby (and apologies for failing to capitalize) said something (if memory serves) about perhaps starting another restaurant, but looking for someone with a masters in business to help out. Or something like that anyway.

And the joke that came of that was "there's no taste for accounting..."

And i guess the continued pondering is perhaps to set it up better so folk might actually get it and appreciate it...

baseball player #1 during a rain delay: "i hope the rain keeps up."

baseball player #2: "why is that?"

baseball player #1: "so it doesn't come down!"

Happy Birthday Bark!!! According to your Horiscope... It's possible that a routine normal occurance will happen to you today.

Does that mean whoever's doing tomorrow's game thread intro can cut and paste thought 2?Or should they counterbalance it by thinking of how Lackey did today?

I'd go with Lackey Thought since I was lacking

Bathtub is a great idea unless it is picked up and carried away. The inner hallway is good as well...

Glunn's right. This drawing depicts chief as a 19 year old hunting a mammoth. It was drawn in 33,253 BC.
