Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Question: what are the most consecutive triples over two or more innings?Or... The most triples in a game if you discount the 4th 7th and 9th innings?
twinsfanstreif Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 What's the record for triples in an inning?Hard to find a solid answer this, the Angles hit 4 earlier this year and it hadn't happened since the 30s but I can't find if it was a record or not. The record for triples in a game is 9 (6 is the AL record)
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Gallo looks like a hitter.
stringer bell Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Does hitting a triple atone for missing a squeeze sign and getting the running on third picked off base?Discuss.Nope. The net effect of his AB was an out, not advancing the runner.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Gallo looks like a hitter.Good thing; not much of a wine.
Blake Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Well, nothing like Rookie meets Big League pitching. I suppose the pitchers have to go after the youngster while they can, because down the road, it will probably swing the other way.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 I think that Buxton's not catching the hints. But he did catch that ball.
twinsfanstreif Provisional Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 also if Robinson hits 2 more triples he will tie the record for most in a game! Set by my name sake George Strief (spelled differently, probably no relation) in 1885. That would be pretty cool although highly unlikely
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Buxton is fast. I don't know if anyone has noticed. .
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 If it's me, I don't send Hughes out for the 7th.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Good thing; not much of a wine.winner.
Circus Boy Verified Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 If it's me, I don't send Hughes out for the 7th. I agree. He's battled his butt clear off.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Shouldn't they hold off on God Bless America till Mauer crosses first base?
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 A few Mangoes but the game is still tied.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Shouldn't they hold off on God Bless America till Mauer crosses first base?At least this singer has a pleasant voice.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Shouldn't they hold off on God Bless America till Mauer crosses first base? Its bad manners to declare "thread winner" and then immediately top it
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 If it's me, I don't send Hughes out for the 7th.Everybody in the bullpen says that. You can't have two pitchers on the mound.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Everybody in the bullpen says that. You can't have two pitchers on the mound. You'd think we could come up with one, though.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Here we have a guy named Smolinski who's batting .140 and squaring to bunt even before the pitch is delivered. This must not result in a sacrifice.
Hosken Bombo Disco Community Moderator Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Atta boy Casey. Get one more.
USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 How's about one o' them sac flies here, Fielder?
