Perhaps, but it doesn't change the fact that Stauffer should be optioned to an iceberg in Hudson Bay.

Just trade him to the Expos.

OTOH, seems like Hicks has been on base a lot the last few games.

I said it last week - I think it was last week, anyway - that Hicks may not be getting results but his approach is cause for optimism. Now it appears that the results are coming around.

Even when Hicks had an abominable OPS a week or two ago, he was taking the bat off his shoulder and sneaking in a few good ABs against RHP. I'll take that over the old Aaron Hicks any day of the week, as it has a much better chance of sustained success in the long run.

I'd agree if the Twins didn't have three 24-26 year olds who need to man the position.

Escobar, Nunez, and who?   ;)

I understand the argument, but nobody but Molitor sent Stauffer out for the 7th.

I know, but at the same time, Molitor is being told that Stauffer belongs and should be pitching. The Twins have been in some close games and in this one the starter left very early with injury.

If Molitor hides him too well, he'll never be rid of Stauffer.

Hmmm.... Gamecast:

"Reyes singled to second.  Reyes out stretching at second"  Discuss...

According to Glunn's new baseball language, Reyes is out like "2 pallets of limestone."

The limestone is Gibby's not mine.  I have to work on my worm bin this afternoon.

Well, just got in a while ago, and had to catch up on my DVR, but i didnt like the decision to start Stauffer for the 7th, should have known they got lucky that he only gave up 1 run in 2 innings, now instead 2 runs in 2 and 1/3.........7th inning tied, should be Pressly , 8th Boyer or Fien, then 9th Perkins or Fien depending on score.

I consider Stauffer coming into the seventh a blessing. During his first two innings, you could have considered it a middling relief appearance. Add that third inning and it becomes a terrible outing.

And the Twins are still winning the game. I'll take it. Stauffer disaster outing, Twins winning the game.

There it is, on a tee, folks.

Take you best swing.

Makes sense. Every hit he's given up has been a frozen rope.

Blaine Boyer strolled back to his dugout, casually lifting his middle finger to FIP.

I've said it before, I'll say it again...the umpires (at least on the bases) in major league baseball do a pretty fantastic job.  Miles beyond what the officials do in football and basketball.
