D. Hocking Verified Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 If that's style, then I'm glad I have none. Sadly - I wore a suit for my first communion suit that was not much better - actually it might have been worse - because it was checked and in leisure suit style (it was the 70's). I am pretty sure it was pure polyester.

Gibby Provisional Member Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Mike Pelfrey IS the best athlete on the field! Damn I missed it. Is CB around?
big dog Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Great throw by Zuke! And a nice tag by Santana too.

ashbury Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 RBI opportunity for Pelfrey.Big Pelf's got this.
JB_Iowa Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Love, it Big Pelf. Auditioning for those NL Teams!
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Best damn athlete on the field. He has yet to learn to hit the ball the other way. Would have had himself a rib in that case. I am disappoint.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Florimon drives in that... Ok, maybe not.

USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Another nice play by Plough-see. That's a tough hop.
big dog Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 I really didn't think I would be saying this, but...Pelfrey is helping this team as a starter.

My confirmation day maroon slacks and white shoes/belt combo would be there for all to see, instead of just seared into my memory like a red-hot branding iron with the bad-guy cattle-baron's logo on it. And the shirt- we won't talk about the shirt.
David HK Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 Just getting in from early meeting at work- Whaaaaa? Pelf is 2-2? Go, Big Mikey!

I'm not sure I carried off the look as well as this fellow, but surely it was close: http://g04.s.alicdn.com/kf/HTB1P2hLFVXXXXXiXVXXq6xXFXXXr/221541616/HTB1P2hLFVXXXXXiXVXXq6xXFXXXr.jpg

ScrapTheNickname Provisional Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 The Pirates TV announcers just said that "legend" has it that the MLB logo was modeled after Harmon Killebrew. I'd never heard that. Anyone?
David HK Verified Member Posted May 21, 2015 Posted May 21, 2015 To follow up on Pelf's hot hitting- my old Mel Stottlemyre baseball card says he went 5-5 one time. I had to look it up- September 26, 1964, against the Senators. Go Pelf-- go get him!Addendum- He also tossed a 2-hitter that day. Good day at the office.
