I assume he's the LOOGY and Molitor wanted him over Theilbar.

He's 28 years old and not an aging veteran yet. He had a very good (but short) audition in 2014 and I think he deserves another shot. I like him a lot more than Boyer and Stauffer.

I am hoping for Aaron Thompson's career to take the path of Craig Breslow's in his late 20s early 30s.

 

He entered pro baseball at 18. He has mixed in a few cups of coffee with countless bus rides and minimal pay as a minor leaguer. He has worked his tail off for this chance. I am hoping that he gets on the Breslow path and is a valuable part of a bullpen for the next four years.

Thielbar looked bad (5.73 ERA) in ST and Thompson was about 1/3 that (1.93).

I am not enamored with any of the Twins LH relief options (other than the closer), none seem to shut down left handed hitters and none throw that hard.  That includes all the guys in AAA, including Darnell and Dean.
