It's a beautiful, sunny 75 deg. day in Fort Myers today. Nice day for a ballgame. I'm hoping for better results against the Yankees than what we had against the Red Sox last night. It looks like a ST away game lineup today. Good times. And play ball!

Garrett Jones is now with the Yankees!  He's hanging on.  Really a nice guy, so glad he made it with another team in the bigs.  Now trying to extend his career.

Against Tanaka.  This could be another long afternoon.  Best get used to it.

Is this kind of cynicism allowed at this time of year?

Shouldn't we still be living in our spring training rose colored glasses, there have been unicorns spotted down by the Mississippi playing with puppies, and we are going to go from worst to first, October baseball here we come world?

After 1: 0-0

This doesn't make any sense to me. Do you mean Circus Boy Update After 1: 0-0? That would certainly clear things up.

Okay ... just for you ... I'll fix it  (but I'm at work, so updates, if I'm able to make them, will be brief and likely not every inning)

And, in honour of Circus Boy ... he doesn't score! Er, I mean there is no score. End of 2.

Any rose colored glasses should have been busted by the Strib articles by Reusse and LaVelle this morning.  Brutal truth....

Meh, it's just a game. I don't approach it with any kind of glasses. It provides some entertainment ... for both good and bad reasons, but it's still baseball. I'm gonna watch, gonna be a Twins fan, even when it hurts, gonna hope for the best while preparing for the worst, and know that the sun will come up tomorrow. Hopefully. :)

'So back to the Rochester Red Wings goes the 25-year-old May, for his eighth professional season. Eighth.'-Reusse

Chris "Take Me North Instead of Fryer" Hermann with the RBI single!

Twins 1, Dreaded and Despised Yanquis 0!  And THAT's your Circus Boy Score Update!

Was trying to paste a circus boy image here, but failed. Nonethess:

Twins are up 1-0 at the end of 3

At half 4 (innings, that is) the game is tied once again at 1 run a piece.

This has been a circus boy update...

(Strange, why is there up in an update? Couldn't it be down? Like the low down?

also, on the internet, ala cut and paste, no one can eat your paste)

lol ... Yankee fan yelling 'Come on Tanaka, get your head in the game!' I always hated this game the most in Fort Myers ... when the Yankees come to town. Too many damn Yankee fans in the stands. They bug me.

Is this game televised on FSN? It just dawned on me that these are our guys calling the game.  Duh.

And the Circus Boy update after 4: Twins up 2-1.

And Milone take 'em down 1, 2, 3 in the top of the 5th ... 1st pitch of the bottom of the 5th, Escobar takes it long!

Besides, The Wild haven't torn my heart from my chest yet.

Followed by an opposite field single for Vargas

Followed by an opposite field single by Vargas to chase Tanaka that inspires a bad joke to put in my back pocket for when it might be funny...

How is syncopation different from that single?

Syncopation shifts the beats. That single beats the shifts.

And the Twins are up 3-1! Circus Boy thanks Eduardo Escobar for this update!

(I am getting very little done at work today ... )

May they leave a heart in all our chests...

Ya gotta have heart. (ducks, er, the action, not the water fowl)

Oh, good to hear from ya, Gibby!

Not to get too distracted though, the Wild are doin' pretty good, aren't they?

And Milone is back out for the 6th ... lookes like subs are in place on the field now, but haven't checked to see who or what.

I'm loving the Wild. I've been in Europe since November, I couldn't wait to get back for the playoffs...and the Twins opener of course.

Y'know, I'd be okay if Eduardo Escobar played a little DH this season. I'm starting to think all those doubles he hit last year weren't flukes.

If gameday is to be believed...

Nate Hanson is at 3rd Base (replacing Schafer in the lineup)

And Chad Christensen Pinch Runs for Vargas, takes Right Field.

The musical fielding positions to make that work:

Herrman moves from Right Field to 1st Base to close the Vargas substitution loop.

Nunez moves from 3rd Base to Left Field, and Robinson moves from Left Field to Center Field to close the Schafer substitution loop.
