USAFChief Twins Daily Contributor Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 Followed by an opposite field single for VargasFollowed by an opposite field single by Vargas to chase Tanaka that inspires a bad joke to put in my back pocket for when it might be funny... How is syncopation different from that single? Syncopation shifts the beats. That single beats the shifts.so, what ur sayin is, Vargas beat the shifts out of 'em.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 CBU after 7: 3-1, still, Twins up ... top half, Yanks went down in order, Perk pitching; and bottom half, Twins down in order. Up next pitching for the twins? The Sasquatch! (edit: and if you couldn't figure it out from reading the thread thus far, I feel sorry for you. No, kidding, CBU = Circus Boy Update.)
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted March 31, 2015 Posted March 31, 2015 so, what ur sayin is, Vargas beat the shifts out of 'em. Yup. Nicely put. I admire your succinctness.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 I like that name for Pelf ... the Sasquatch ... who started that? Was it Paul Pleiss? Or was it just inevitable?
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Yup. Nicely put. I admire your succinctness.Concur

Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 Not exactly 3 up, 3 down for either side in the 8th, but we are still up 3-1. Yes, yes ... this has been a Circus Boy update. We might have to retire this 'theme' after this game. Even a good thing gets old in overuse. But it's been fun while it lasted!
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 And today I've sacrificed productivity for a ST game. That's not good but we all need days like these once in a while.
Squirrel Community Moderator Posted March 31, 2015 Author Posted March 31, 2015 And the Circus Boy closeout: Twins win. Milone with the W, Fien with the S, Tanaka with the L. Wasn't the best of innings for Fien, but he got it done. And here endeth the game. And if you want more closure than this, look it up for yourselves. I need to get back to work and try to salvage some of this day.

Funny, funny, not funny, not funny, not funny, then funny again, purely because of the commitment to the bit. The Common Man has made an entire career on committing to the bit. 2015 is the year of the Circus Boy Update.

This sounds auto-biographical in nature, considering how long we've been doing this.Carnac: Or auto-pilot, in your case.Ed: Hey! May the fleas of a... wait a second, how'd we get reversed on this?Carnac: Beats me. Wait, I should save that line for another envelope. "Beats me."Ed: Hey-yo! Speaking of envelopes, would you be so kind as to open this one and read the question?Carnac: "What was the key to Triple Crown winner Secretariat's success?"
