Sano's homer off of Cole

That ball did not look like it was gone off of the bat.  He definitely muscled that one out of there.

Uff da as well. Great to see the homerun, but man did he ever look winded rounding the bases. They weren't kidding in the reports that he did little more than shovel food into his mouth the whole off-season. Not impressed at all with him gaining 20 + lbs. after TJ surgery. Illustrates total lack of discipline, motivation and respect for his teammates and coaches.

By the way, i'm 6'-4", 215 lbs. (have weighed as much as 230 when i played football) and Sano looks a lot heavier than 260 if you ask me. I'd say 270-280 in reality.

That's A TON of weight for a 22 year old athlete to gain in just five years. When he joined the Twins in 2010 he only weighed 195 lbs. I think we're beyond the 3rd base / dh discussion and really should be discussing if this kid is serious about having a major league career.

We must have different definitions of winded. I stop walking and put my hands on my knees, etc. I don't see how to infer anything like that, not even on the same spectrum, from this video. I'm satisfied to enjoy the no-doubt home run off of a presumed pop-up. ;)

He weighs exactly the same this year as he weighed at this time a year ago. And, he's within about 5-8 pounds of the weight he played at in 2013.

Miguel Sano is a large human being. Shovel related eating comments aside. He's 22. Do you remember being 22? You really can just shovel just about anything into your body.

Yeahhhh.....but he's a professional athlete.  Gaining 20lbs. of muscle is one thing, 20lbs. of fat is a completely different matter.

Are you sure?

Are you sure? (which one he's done, if either)

Getting a body fat measurement from that video angle and with him in full uniform is pretty impressive.

Never said i did.  You would need a pair of calipers for that measurement.  I'm talking about the 20 + lbs. that he gained in the off-season following TJ surgery.  Next.

Maybe he was acting out a joke about being winded.

"I get tired of jogging around the bases after all these home runs…" :)

Maybe i'm confusing winded with dogging it around the bases.  He's done that before too.  ;)

I got winded just reading that he hit a homer and jogged around the bases.

I was at Twins Fest in 2014 and 2015, and we talked to him after his physical both times. The weight was the same. His agent was talking about how it was about 5-8 pounds more than he played at in 2013. I don't have those numbers, but I saw him in Beloit in 2012 and he wasn't a whole lot smaller.

You must have been unbelievable guessing weight at the County Fairs.  "No one gets a pencil eraser on my watch!"

Guess I'll go with the opinions of people who've seen him in person, rather than your opinion from a short video clip.  (Unless you cultivated your weight-guessing skills at Valleyfair, then all bets are off.)

Let's drop the Sano weight agenda please. This has been discussed in multiple minor league threads now and we don't need to hijack this one.

Understood.
