Still holding out hope that the Perez major league deal was a joke. That 5th spot should be Mejia's. If anything Perez should go to long relief in blowouts. I think Torreyes makes the roster. Vasquez will be in AAA. I also hate the Romero to the BP thing but it will probably happen.

2 times in 2016. 37 in AA and about 56 other times. I'm not saying he should permanently move there but injuries cause players to move around.

I don't get Morrison playing on defense. Put Kepler at first until Mauer is back and Cave or LaMarre in right. This way we still have quality defense. I like Grossman. I like his approach but he should not be in the outfield and Morrison should be the main DH. I think Grossman has to go. I don't feel good about it, but we have too many constraints with him and Morrison. Molitor/Falvine need to stop compromising the lineup to fit the right vs left left vs right strategy. That's fine when your players are more balanced, but with so many players out, we need to field the best players we can. We are missing some good bats. We should be filling in with better defense.

With the major league outfield banged up, I would like to see Wade come up. He takes professional at bats and would be a definite upgrade over Grossman or Adrianza in the OF. LaMarre should be playing over Grossman in the outfield, as well.

I don't believe it 100% hinges on us being in contention. They could groom Gordon or have Aybar take over if they believe their best value would be trading him at the deadline. It isn't unreasonable to think a team in contention would be willing to sell someone at the right price.

Brian Dozier has stated recently that he looks forward to free agency after the season. What should the Twins do with Dozier at the trade deadline? Is it quite likely they move him if not in contention? If the Twins are in contention, do they move him anyway to get some value before he leaves?

Niko Goodrum has been playing well for Detroit, thus far (2 or 3 games).

I love this move. This isn't a pitcher that had 1 good year 3 years ago. He was dominate for a while. This will be his last chance to put himself in a position to make money for a few more years. He finds it again, you have a front line starter for 5 million. Assume we still sign or trade and we end up with this for a rotation: FA/trade piece Santana Berrios Sanchez Gibson/Mejia/prospect That would be great. It's worth the no risk.

I find it kind of silly that Thorpe isn't a top 5 or at least top 10 prospect in our system. When on the field, he has done little to warrant a slide. If it is a health thing then you would think Romero would sit lower too. He has missed 2 years and at 22 is already at AA. It is possible he would have received his first cup of coffee this last season if he didn't have a delayed surgery and mono. Rankings are just rankings and they are fun. I always look forward to them and love the debates about them. I just don't get the hesitation of putting him back where he was pre(vacation). He seems like a fair bet to be a pretty dominant lefty. There just aren't alot of those around.

If Gonsalves doesn't have impressive stuff, doesn't have velocity or spin, and has trouble throwing strikes how in the world does he have the numbers he has?

Even better than giving up Burdi. I like the trade.

Everyone talks about Greens bust potential. Isn't that moreso as a pitcher? He could bust as a pitcher but still have upside at short, no?

Change Park with Mauer, and enter Dozier at 2B in the 3 spot moving everyone else down one. Thathe would be my ideal lineup.

I just struggle to understand how Dozier seems to have such little trade value. DeLeon does not really blow anyone away does he? I mean he looks like an OK prospect but they don't always pan out. Dother has hit 20+ homers several times in a row now. I don't get it.

Alex Kirilloff has hit in all 8 games. 3 of them he has had multiple hits. Alex has 18 total bases in 29 at-bats. He has 3 strikeouts but hasn't walked yet. Not a bad start to his career!

I have seen on twitter and else where that players are being promoted quite a bit the last 24 hours. I was hoping this could be a place to list all the roster shuffling. I haven't seen where space is being made for all the promotions.

Ryan Eades to bullpen and Felix Jorge promoted. Problem solved.

I believe the Tyler Jay stuff is due to innings limit. He was a college reliever and has been logging quite a few quality starts this year in his first full season as a starter. They skipped his last start and may start capping his workload a lot earlier in his starts moving forward. Stewart should pitch the first half of next season in AA, at least. They have been pretty aggressive moving him even though his stuff hasn't been developing as fast as he is moving. He is putting up nice numbers which is encouraging. I think he will continue to work towards Ace status as he matures, but they just need to keep him where he's at for a while so he can get the swings and misses he should be generating.

I think it could be noted that Gonsalves had a line of: 3.2 innings 2 hits 1 walk 1 run and 8 strikeouts before being unable to get the final out. I'm not worried about his stuff translating to this level. He will be fine.

I noticed that Harrison made the start at 3rd base. It was his 6th start and 7th game at the hit corner. Last season he made zero starts at 3rd and played 1 game there. He has converted all 11 of his chances.

Disclaimer!! This article jumps to conclusions based on spring training (SSS). Also, its views can be disputed with facts and logic, I asked that you don't attempt to argue the articles "facts." Please just share your uneducated opinion on my uneducated opinion. There is no need for thought and in-depth analysis. The Twins having shown me a few things this spring that I really like; they have put together multiple quality starts in a row, they have hit home runs, and they have been aggressive on the base paths. They still have shown flaws that are admittedly alarming, but it is nice to see some progress in areas that we have lagged far behind competitive teams. The quality starts thing: I have noticed that Santana, Gibson, Hughes, and Milone have been able to look like a decent group of pitchers. I feel good about our starting rotation going into this season (it feels kind of funny even typing that about the Twins). Santana is not an "ACE," and that is okay. He is a guy that can go out and win more than he will lose. He can strike people out once in a while (What a bonus!). Best of all, Erv (do you think he will mind if I call him Erv?) is the kind of guy you can count on to put an end to a funk. If the team gets in one. Which they will. All teams do. Don't hate on the Twins when they do. It's completely normal! Gibson has managed to make me believe that he can strikeout a significant (for him) amount of batters. I have felt better and better about him each year. I think this is going to be another step in the right direction for him. We should all feel comfortable about him being in our rotation for years to come. Last year was a down year for Hughes. I think it is completely reasonable to expect Hughes to pitch better than last year but maybe not as good as 2014. He is still a good pitcher that can give you a lot of 7-8 inning outings with only 2-3 runs (all solo shots?). That should equate to quite a few Twins wins. Milone is boring! With any luck, he will strikeout 1-2 batters in 6 innings. That is not fun and exciting. Oh, but guess what! He doesn't have to be fun and exciting! He can strikeout 1 batter a game as long as he keeps getting ground balls and pop ups. He is the "Twins Pitcher of the Year Scott Diamond!" Not the "get that Scott Diamond out of here, Scott Diamond." The hitting the ball over the fence thing: The Twins have hit more home runs this spring training than they have in the last 20 years! (see disclaimer) They have been hitting the ball out a bit more frequently than I can remember them doing. It's nice to see everyone from Sano to Kurt hitting home runs. Heck, Even Joe hit one! Sure the Twins have been striking out a ton, but you can afford to strikeout a few times if you are also hitting some dingers. We have quite a few players that can exceed 20 home runs this year, and that is enough excitement to make up for Milone. The being aggressive on the bases thing: We are as willing to attempt an extra base as a WWE wrestler is to walk into a clothes line (I'm not sure how well a wrestling joke will be received on Twins Daily..... I got!). We are as willing to attempt an extra base as Mauer is to take a first pitch strike (nailed it). It is nice to see us trying to stretch, singles into doubles, doubles into triples, and going home on from second on an infield single. That last one is a bit extreme but I do believe it happened this spring. I would just like the team to try and force the defense to make plays instead of playing it safe. It can definitely come back to bite you once in a while but it shows a desire to win and play hard and I like that.
