2 times in 2016. 37 in AA and about 56 other times. I'm not saying he should permanently move there but injuries cause players to move around.

I don't get Morrison playing on defense. Put Kepler at first until Mauer is back and Cave or LaMarre in right. This way we still have quality defense. I like Grossman. I like his approach but he should not be in the outfield and Morrison should be the main DH. I think Grossman has to go. I don't feel good about it, but we have too many constraints with him and Morrison. Molitor/Falvine need to stop compromising the lineup to fit the right vs left left vs right strategy. That's fine when your players are more balanced, but with so many players out, we need to field the best players we can. We are missing some good bats. We should be filling in with better defense.

With the major league outfield banged up, I would like to see Wade come up. He takes professional at bats and would be a definite upgrade over Grossman or Adrianza in the OF. LaMarre should be playing over Grossman in the outfield, as well.

I love this move. This isn't a pitcher that had 1 good year 3 years ago. He was dominate for a while. This will be his last chance to put himself in a position to make money for a few more years. He finds it again, you have a front line starter for 5 million. Assume we still sign or trade and we end up with this for a rotation: FA/trade piece Santana Berrios Sanchez Gibson/Mejia/prospect That would be great. It's worth the no risk.

I find it kind of silly that Thorpe isn't a top 5 or at least top 10 prospect in our system. When on the field, he has done little to warrant a slide. If it is a health thing then you would think Romero would sit lower too. He has missed 2 years and at 22 is already at AA. It is possible he would have received his first cup of coffee this last season if he didn't have a delayed surgery and mono. Rankings are just rankings and they are fun. I always look forward to them and love the debates about them. I just don't get the hesitation of putting him back where he was pre(vacation). He seems like a fair bet to be a pretty dominant lefty. There just aren't alot of those around.

If Gonsalves doesn't have impressive stuff, doesn't have velocity or spin, and has trouble throwing strikes how in the world does he have the numbers he has?

Everyone talks about Greens bust potential. Isn't that moreso as a pitcher? He could bust as a pitcher but still have upside at short, no?- 720 replies

Article: Twins Request Final Offers For Dozier
youngpadawan replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I just struggle to understand how Dozier seems to have such little trade value. DeLeon does not really blow anyone away does he? I mean he looks like an OK prospect but they don't always pan out. Dother has hit 20+ homers several times in a row now. I don't get it.- 146 replies

Alex Kirilloff has hit in all 8 games. 3 of them he has had multiple hits. Alex has 18 total bases in 29 at-bats. He has 3 strikeouts but hasn't walked yet. Not a bad start to his career!

I think it could be noted that Gonsalves had a line of: 3.2 innings 2 hits 1 walk 1 run and 8 strikeouts before being unable to get the final out. I'm not worried about his stuff translating to this level. He will be fine.

I noticed that Harrison made the start at 3rd base. It was his 6th start and 7th game at the hit corner. Last season he made zero starts at 3rd and played 1 game there. He has converted all 11 of his chances.

Article: Early Camp Tidbits
youngpadawan replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
If Cabrera can play 3rd so can Sano. If the position opens up (Trading Plouffe at the deadline or this next offseason) he can always move back. Which would open a position for Kepler along side Rosario and Buxton. For this season, it is probably a good idea to have him solely focused on a position he has never played. He has played SS and 3rd his whole life so a transition back should not effect him down the road. -
Article: TD Top Prospects: #10 Nick Burdi
youngpadawan replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Does Burdi's acquisition of a 3rd pitch make him a possible starter down the road, or will the Twins never have interest in attempting it like they are with Jay? -
Isn't it a bit unusual for a player batting .220 at a level to get promoted to the next level and then play a position that he didn't play even a game at in the past? I wish Niko the best. He has talent and was a 2nd round pick. But I just found it odd. I guess there weren't any outfielders playing particularly well at either A balls. But just a weird situation.

I really don't like the comment about Burdi and Reed. When did we put a clock on everything and stop evaluating? Old baseball guys drive me nuts with this. If you are better than the other people you should leapfrog them. Number of years in the system does not meaN you are better than the new guys. I get the "let's be patient with guys who don't even have a year in pro ball" but to say there are guys in front of them makes it sound like an excuse to slow down their progress. I just don't get baseball sometimes. Also, why has Santana not played a game in center This spring? It seems like that is the best way to get Escobar in the lineup and field the best team we can. I understand the defense issues in the corners but I don't see why he can't get a game or 2 a week in center.

Article: This Time It's Different
youngpadawan replied to Seth Stohs's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Nitpicking, but didn't he pitch 3 innings in his latest outing or was the MLB gameday wrong (it is very rough during spring training)? Berrios seems to truely believe thst he is a candidate for the 5th spot out of ST. I wonder if he wasn't told something about it. I get that every pitcher has to approach it like they have a shot but the typical comments from such pitchers is more often "I want to go out and show what I can do and make a good impression" where Berrios says "I'm here to compete for a spot in the rotation and want to win it." It may just be his competitive spirit but he seems to have a different state of mind than others have. One of his goals was to head north with the team. -
Article: How Many Home Runs Can The Twins Hit?
youngpadawan replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The 150-155 is just over the league average from 2014 (a down year for most teams). Your projections are fairly optimistic but we could have guys like Sano come up and hit quite a few. If we hit 150 I will be slightly surprised but very happy. I have more hope for the years to follow.
