While we all believe he'll be in LA.......how bad will it get in TB as more and more people (not just players now) opt to leave?

Unless he's absolutely going to the Dodgers or wants to take a break, I can't think of a better team to jump on board than the Twins. Great farm, young players... It's the perfect situation for a guy like Maddon. Any other similar team already has a manager in place.

I don't think the Twins have a chance to hire him, but if he would come here I would love it.  He built a winner in Tampa Bay with no budget.  I love his style telling his switch hitters to bat right handed against a right hander that has a killer cutter and dominates lefties.  He was one of the first to start to shift infield around.  He will get a job I think where ever he wants one when there is an opening.

I would imagine that Maddon and Friedman already have an agreement in place.  In fact, I think some Rays fans are already complaining about collusion.

- Maddon was making an average of $2-million in his latest deal with #Rays. No indication yet of where he is headed or if he will work in '15.

 

- Maddon told me decision to leave #Rays was combination of financial issues and curiosity over what opportunities will present.

 

- Maddon said he has nothing lined up at this point after leaving #Rays. Said he would prefer to manage in '15 but could still stay involved.

 

- Maddon said there was give and take with #Rays on a new deal but "we were still too far apart."

 

- Maddon: "When am I going to get this opportunity to find out exactly what people think under these circumstances.''

 

- Maddon on how hard it was to leave #Rays: "Gut wrenching, almost feeling sick.''
