Nah, just a bad attempt at a spoonerism joke...

Tell me about this swamp cooler.  It sounds cool.

A swamp cooler is a device marketed in SW states, particularly Arizona, as a cheaper alternative to air conditioning.

It sits on top of your house, and does a great job of maintaining the stiffling heat while adding oppressive levels of humidity to your indoor space.

Everybody in Minnesota knew Schafer might try to bunt and then attempt to steal second. And there he stands.

He's got the head first slide perfected. That's why you do it.

Yeah, I'm impressed with how he drags his leg over the bag as his hand leaves it.

The tag was held throughout, which made it important.

Oh I get it, pitching duel.

What do you do with a good pitching duel? Get a decent night's sleep.

I think a swamp cooler is a hillbilly air conditioner using pine branches and a box fan or something.

Let me add unnecessarily to that: each of his slides have been identical thus far. Meaning he has practiced, and perfected the move.

Ah, so it turns dry heat to wet heat.

Now i'm wondering if dry heat/wet heat is ever used to describe fastballs with less/more motion...

It's sort of like an air conditioner that doesn't really work even when it's working.  It differs from an air conditioner in that instead of phase change to cause cooling, it relies on the placebo effect.

It found widespread application (as opposed to use) in southern military base housing in the latter half of the 20th century, and it narrowly trailed deployment separation and money concerns as the third most common cause of divorce.

67th Twins baserunner to run into a boneheaded out at third. Excuse me, gaffe.

That does seem to be happening a lot this year

Is baserunning Molitor's purview?

Phew. I thought Arcia might get wrapped up like a douche after that grab

He reminded me of my favorite Steve Miller song, Big Old Jed's Pet Rhino.  Luckily he never did 'carry me too far away'.

I'm partial to Deep Purple's "Slow Walking Walter" (the fire eating guy).

Thank goodness you pointed that out to me, I've been singing along thinking it was the fire engine guy.  Phew!  On a totally unrelated note, holiday weekend coming up.  Who's going down to Prior Lake?
