D. Hocking Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The Twins kinda are the White Walkers today "In that darkness the White Walkers came for the first time. They swept through cities and kingdoms, riding their dead horses, hunting with their packs of pale spiders big as hounds." They actually sound like they could be a pretty formidable team. I know some people want more attitude - the Twins finding their inner-white walker might help create that.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 The Twins kinda are the White Walkers today I was thinking more like Craster's goats.

Yeah, I have to wonder what being touched by a white walker could mean in the baseball world... Florimon suddenly being able to hit?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 1 hole is rangers returning2 holes are wildlings3 holes are white walkers "Jon Snow, you know nothing!" in general sounds like an appropriate quote... Not that i know anything either. But really this post makes me recollect my Ogden Nash... What was it... Ode to a llama?
Mr. Brooks Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 We should think about moving Mauer to a less physically demanding position so he can play everyday.
Willihammer Provisional Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I for one am glad Mauer's not in today's lineup. Team doesnt' need him.
Craig Arko Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 But really this post makes me recollect my Ogden Nash... What was it... Ode to a llama? I know that one.
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I have been calling for a new manager since last season, but in this case he can only pick from the available options. Of course, there is ample evidence he is at least partially responsible for the construction of the 25 man roster (3 catchers! I need 3 catchers!) So I'm less inclined to cut him complete slack here. 3 Catchers and 13 Pitchers, who a week ago all got a 3 day rest.....and are just coming off of 4 consecutive Quality Starts.....this is largely on Gardy.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Santana is going down huh?
GCTF Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I went to the Dr. today to get my head checked out. He said that my problem was watching the Twins. Apparently, looking at lineups like these the last few nights cause the same symptoms. If you don't get better can I have your stuff?
jokin Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 And while I will get crucified for bringing it up...could Mauer perhaps play at less than 100 percent? Why change up on what's worked so well.....
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 How do you have a negative OPS+ on May 7th? April 7th, sure. But May 7th? I don't know but this has been a real golden opportunity to learn. Florimon is teaching us.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Gardy couldn't get creative and bat Escobar 2?
sampleSizeOfOne Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 1. Escobar in LF 2. Florimon at SS 3. Suzuki/Pinto 4. Where's Oswaldo? 5. The Sky above you -- I read something today that made me pause for a second to ponder what I was reading. According to Military Experts... In Ten Years time... every single country on this planet will have armed drones. Sleep Tight everyone!!! Good stuff! (tryin' to organize my thoughts -- like cleaning out the lint filter in the drier) 1. Only natural to me... Escobar is backing up Florimon after all? 2. I'm still rooting for Florimon. After all, we got the rubber band in our favor today. 5. Reminds me of a favorite friend's story. A pacifist vegetarian passing through a military industrial complex expo that reminds him of the future in terminator movies gets singled out by spokesman at a booth he passes. After enduring the spiel, the spokesman asked if my friend wanted to hear more about the fancy robot. My friend politely responds "No thanks, i helped make that robot." Needless to say, that friend has some really cool stories. -- But that wasn't my initial response... I was going to comment, if they were really military experts, they would have responded "the single country on this planet will have armed drones." And i woulda thought to myself, i gotta get me a new planet! Or at least a really nice decked out self sufficient bunker... (Gar! i take too long tryin' to format stuff. Game's about to start!)
Reider Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Nice smoking patch on the back of Terry Francona's neck.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Holy crap! Nolasco K?
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 4 consecutive Quality Starts.....this is largely on Gardy. Nice to give credit where credit is due.
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Escobar... Smooth... Like he's been in Left his whole life.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 If you don't get better can I have your stuff? I don't think my wife will allow it.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Gardy couldn't get creative and bat Escobar 2? Baby steps... Batting Dozier first all season long was due to months of occupational therapy this offseason.
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 If you don't get better can I have your stuff? Whew, tough crowd here tonight.
Richie the Rally Goat Community Moderator Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 I don't think my wife will allow it.Even for the betterment of the Twins Daily Community?
ashbury Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Cola has the right idea pouncing on a first-pitch strike. Bummer about the wheels though.
S. Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Well, at least I got a chuckle out of that. Out by 15 feet.
Reider Verified Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Nice hit Billy... can't field a ground ball, can't run bases..
Riverbrian Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Good News... The demise of Cola may be pre mature... The bad News is Cola tagged out at 2nd... The Funny News... The way he was tagged out.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Even for the betterment of the Twins Daily Community? You overestimate how little I have.
diehardtwinsfan Old-Timey Member Posted May 7, 2014 Posted May 7, 2014 Interesting line from my gamecast. I' be interested in a detailed explanation here. LAST PLAY:C Colabello singled to left, C Colabello out stretching at second
