And my work here is done.

But, I can’t take all of the credit. Most? Almost certainly, yes. But, I want to thank all of you, TwinsDaily. You’ve come such a long way in a very short amount of time. I am very proud of the progress we’ve made here today.

I must be gone now. Cry not for me. Hold on to the memory of what we accomplished here today. There’s a lesson to be learned in all of this, and I trust that each of you has taken heed.

It takes a big man to confront his demons, to accept failure, and to mitigate our hyperactive emotions, particularly in the arena of professional sport.

It takes a bigger man to suppress those emotions—to take them and shove them so far down into a handle of Evan Williams brand bourbon, that one no longer knows what day it is, nor what our record may be. It takes the biggest man to stand up to the negative nellies of the world and stuff all their sorry’s in a sack—to point fingers and call out the Randy Quaids from Major Leauge of the world.

Some may say that I am doing the Lord’s work. I would argue that I am doing Torii’s work. It has been a pleasure to serve you, Twins Daily.

Be positive. Be merry. Be Gung Ho for Byung Ho, and may Sano be with you. Now and forever.

I have to go now. My planet needs me. Hit me up on facebook, dudes!

Round of applause for Negativity Police! If you haven't read the blog, do it. You will not be disappointed. I can confidently say you saved our site from the threat of negativity!!

Doctor recommends weight loss. :)

/ I wanted to wink, but as you seem to recognize a negative aura surrounding such actions, I refrained from doing so. Commend me.

T'was a late night, and morning too early.  Missed the whole thing.  I thought it was an omen when I stirred at first, that a chicken roosted outside my window.  I lunged, as he took wing, and caught something, anything, for dinnah.

Getting caught up just before 8:30. Excellent game thread and a competent performance by the Twins. There is a lot wrong with any team with only 9 wins, but there is enough talent that they can be good pretty soon.

I could only host a game thread if I couldn't watch the game. They always lose when I watch.

Come to think of it, they aren't winning much when I don't watch. Hey! Maybe I'm not the problem after all!

We're all the problem. Fortunately, we're also all the solution.

I didn't realize bit accounts were allowed on this site.

They aren't.

This was done WITH PERMISSION for the purposes of this game thread. It was a one-time only use and is now done. And I think Vanimal and NP did a good job with it.

And, further, we allowed this because game threads are supposed to be lighter and more fun. While the Twins haven't given us much 'fun' there's still no reason to drag down these threads as some have been doing with every chance they get. This schtick, done with permission, is to let people know to lighten up a little. We have many, many, many ... in fact ALL the others threads ... going on right now to rightfully (and respectfully) complain, discuss, debate, reason, wonder about the product of the field and all that goes into it. There is no reason to drag this down with the same. yeah, not an easy task, but try.

Wait............we won?

Was busy in the lab all night.

And by lab, I mean bar.

But ... the game was during the day ... don't you mean all day and all night?

Well, of course. Lab by day, bar by night, this type of high level genetic mutation stuff is thirsty work.

From my perspective, I'd just add: on topic complaints are fine in a game thread, just dont dwell on it, or make it a mega complaint.

For example, I am fine with questioning that day's lineup in that day's game thread, as a one off thing. "Why wouldn't we hit Babe Ruth third today, against a rightie, and rest Killebrew tomorrow, instead of a leftie?"

Similarly, "the starter should come out/stay in here," "I'd use Sutter here instead of Rivera out of the pen,". "Brooksie would've caught that," etc etc.

"This GM sucks," isn't in the spirit of the game thread. Nor is a constant running critique of a player or manager.

Discuss the game. Maybe the current or upcoming series.

Leave the campaign to liberate us all from tyranny to the threads devoted to that. Some of us mods might even be right there with you.

K?
