  1. Hell of a series win. Hopefully they keep on that roll against the Yankees!
  2. The offensive output this series makes the Detroit series even more frustrating, but that's a nice series win and I'll definitely be happy with that!

  3. Triple up Toronto's run output...as expected.

    Just baseball being baseball.

What ... the fresh raspberries and ice cream part?

      Yes, that part!

I specifically didn't order dessert with my pizza because I didn't want to be tempted!

Haha!  I just earned the Paparazzi badge on that.  Seems fitting somehow that it was for a dessert post!

  4. I get that Gordon is basically a bit player, but those guys are important too. He had a hell of game. I think he's pretty underappreciated for what he does.
  5. Not sure what to say about this one that hasn't been said about the last two.
  6. Exactly, there's a couple of ways to take that. One, it's amazing that they've actually extended their lead after that stretch. Yet, it's disappointing that they only gained one game over a very weak portion of the schedule.
  7. Some may find it interesting that the Twins had a 4 game lead in the division on May 4th. Today, they have a 5 game lead.
  8. 5 hits over two games ain't getting it done, guys. Don't know what more to say. It's only going to get more difficult after Detroit!
  9. As you mention, injuries and Covid have taken their toll on the roster. The pitching depth is still a big concern and it's being tested right now. A healthy Buxton probably makes a sizeable difference to the lineup, but Larnach is playing well. He's not the dynamic player that Buxton is though. I was hoping for a 20+ win month. Admittedly a tall task, but one that I think was very doable given the competition. They almost got there, but I can't help but feel that they could have had a couple more wins. Yet they still have a 5 game lead in the division. We'll just have to wait and see if they're able to hold onto that.
  10. It must be an interesting job at times to be a manager at the AAA level. The big league club gets decimated by injuries and your squad gets gutted in the process. Probably have to laugh about it in the end. Play 4 catchers and then have one leave the game and lose the DH in the process? Ha! Just your typical insane day at the office!
  11. Oh, definitely. In more than one way. For me though, it's how they lost. I'm always fine with just getting beat by a better team that day. It happens. It's quite another to beat yourself. Even on the radio, they seemed non-competitive. That's the problem for me. Which, admittedly, I didn't articulate well in that post.
  12. I was listening on the radio, but they didn't seem too competitive.
  13. I'm not usually too disappointed with splitting a double header, but this one sucks. They really can't afford to leave wins on the table. They need to beat up on teams like the Tigers.
  14. Very happy to have 9 inning double header games again.

  15. Before this goes further and hijacks the thread, I'll point you here where this topic is already being discussed.
  16. Another good recap, Nick. It was a pretty busy week too. Hopefully Lewis has a shortish stint on the IL and Gray doesn't need one at all.
  17. I'd actually bring both up, but if I have to choose one it would be Lewis. Lewis can fill the roll Gordon currently holds and then some and Kirilloff would allow Miranda to be sent down. Perhaps an injection of youth could spur the offense a little.
  18. I got stuck behind this guy in line. All I wanted was my avocado & kale grain wrap and almond milk double espresso! That pretentious prick!
  19. Duffey is on a roll. He's allowing an earned run on every other hit, on average. But...he's not allowed an intentional walk. So, there is that. Sidenote: anyone that still rocks stirrups gets some respect from me! Smeltzer pitched a nice game, he deserved better.
  20. I like what I've seen from both in their short careers thus far. I am worried that they'll hit a wall in August, but hopefully that 6 man rotation helps avoid that. Each having IL stints should help as well. They both look like good pieces to a rotation though.
  21. For me, I stopped going to a lot of week day games because I work early. Games are too long. The earlier start in April, May and September helps but not enough to really entice me unless I'm interested in a particular game. The fact that many, myself included, can't watch games is pretty harmful in my view. Out of sight, out of mind. Current inflation and financial concerns are a pretty good reason for families and those on fixed incomes to avoid going to games.
  22. I like that you noted where Martin and Lewis played, Seth. It's interesting to see what they're trying to do defensively with both. Lewis looks like he should stick at SS, but I'm interested to see how they're rotating him around the field to get him back up with the Twins. And it'd be nice to see them settle on a home for Martin, wherever that may be.
