  1. Yeah, I definitely think that they went to the same Logos 'R Us outlet store for these. I don't like them. And I think I like them less every time I see them. Just not to my taste.
  2. Too bad we don't have signatures anymore. You could have advertised it in your signature! 😆
  3. Great write-up, Nick! I think it's hard to understate how great it is to have a player of Correa's caliber taking the time to help prospects like Lee. I tend to think that the best teacher is a fellow player. Coaches and managers are a good source too, but some things just seem to be absorbed more from another player. Particularly a guy like Correa.
  4. The prize is that it's now commonly known that you are the biggest know it all with the most opinions on things!
  5. What's with all of this golf talk in a game thread?

  6. I'm usually content if I break 90 and pretty happy if I shoot mid-80s. If I shoot in the low 80s I get pissed because a couple less wasted strokes and I could have broken 80! I mean, I had a lot of fun and I know that I shot well, but I've never broken 80! I put a whole new set of sticks in the bag last year. I got out quite a few times early in the season and then basically took two months off and then played a bunch in the fall again. I played two rounds up at Superior National in July. The first one I lost 22 balls and quit keeping score because I was so frustrated. Two days later I shot an 86 and played the entire round with 3 balls. Same weather conditions. Two days apart. Night and day. My last round of the year, I went out in 50 (yuk...) and came back in with a 38. Worst/best 88 ever...Hell of a way end a season. Golf at its finest?
  7. Just tell that body of yours that there's golf to be played. You can hurt afterwards! That's why there's a 19th hole. Or at least that's what I tell myself anyway.
  8. That sucks! Hopefully that heals up for him. I'm hoping to get out more this summer. Life hasn't allowed me to play enough the last couple of years, but I finished last season really strongly so I'm hoping that I can carry that over the winter somehow.
  9. Yeah, that makes a big difference. Standing around doesn't help keep the blood flowing. That's why I walk those rounds.
  10. My FIL is 69 and plays to a 4 or 5. I'm 42 and have a difficult time maintaining my 13-15 handicap. He's able to play all of the time, I can't play nearly as much as I'd like.
  11. This is a game thread. What else are we supposed to be talking about?
  12. I'm one of those fools that loves a crisp early spring morning where as long as they'll let me out I'm going to play. Layer up and walk on a nice sunny morning with little to no breeze with the course to yourself is a perfect way to spend a morning in my mind. I've played many a round at 33 or 34 degrees and love every second of it. I'm fortunate to live literally 3 minutes from a course. I know that if I don't have frost that they likely don't have frost so I'll load up the clubs and head over and get out before the tee sheet even starts.
  13. I figured that you'd know of a such a place if they existing out in your neck of the woods.
  14. Also, as a golf and wine enthusiast, I need to find a golf course that also has an onsite winery... ...or a winery with an onsite golf course...
  15. I think the real question is whether being drunk on the couch at 11:30 qualifies as me being in the best shape of my life! Regardless, I'm at work, a painful day at work, so being drunk at this point seems like an improvement over my current situation.
  16. Interesting tidbit, indeed. Thanks for working the numbers!
  17. There is a flip side to this too though. They're also playing the better teams more as well. Those teams are better than Cleveland and Chicago. Both cases are true for those two teams as well, however. I don't think the schedule is a huge difference, but I do think it can have the potential of maybe 5 wins. In the grand scheme of things, that probably isn't a big deal since that also applies to the other division foes as well, but it probably matters when it comes time for playoff matchups.
  18. That one win was the difference between voting 80-85 and 86-90 though! 😆
  19. I said 80-85. I think it's closer to 85 than 80, but I couldn't bring myself to go 86-90. I think the new schedule format hurts them. I like much of the additions they made, but I'm still not confident that they stack up well with the the better teams in the league.
  20. With this rain today, I can almost smell the grass growing under the 3' of snow!  Bring on the baseball!

  21. That doesn't have to be a negative though. Guys "tweek" their swings all of the time. Tweek implies that it's a minor change, not a rebuild. But yes, I'd agree that it would depend on what he means to an extent. I still think people are reading way too much into this.
