  1. I have asked this question 3-4 times in various comments to articles, with no responses. Would someone who knows the answers, please reply to these questions and explain the method the Twins use in pre-game discussions of what pitches to call, how the caller of the pitches is informed what pitches are working for the Twins' pitcher that particular day at different times during the game, who actually calls each pitch, how much leeway the pitcher has to call his pitches and how other "pitching successful teams" handle these issues? Thank you.
  2. Interesting article with some good stats. I feel that Gray probably knows these stats and will take appropriate action to modify his pitch selection and possibly his method of delivering one or more pitches. Who calls the pitches for Gray? The catcher or Gray or the bench?
  3. Maybe the Twins can trade their #5 draft pick to the Reds for Petty. (Smile)
  4. I respectfully disagree. I blame the season long, division leading Twins, falling out of 1st place in September in 2022 on an unprecedented amount of injuries.
  5. Or maybe, due mainly to the excessive injuries experienced in 2022, they just did not have good enough talent to win.
  6. I disagree. I thought this was an excellent post.
  7. I believe this team with Correa, has gained intensity. Intensity to me means doing waht is necessary to win. Like getting a covid shot so you can travel to Toronto to play in meaningful games, like watching Johan Duran pitch the ninth inning, like watching Buck run down a fly ball, Duran, like watching Ryan and Gray wanting to stay in the game and get angry when being removed early, like watching a Luis Arraez at bat, like watching a stoic Griffin Jax pitch 1,2,3 in the 8th inning, like watching an Acala fastball, Duran, Correa's arm, finally seeing Polanco smile, Miranda at the plate, attacking a fastball, Rocco arguing with an umpire, and Duran.
  8. I wonder what ethical considerations Boras has in representing both Correa and Bogaerts?
  9. I continue to thoroughly enjoy Matt Braun's exceptional writing skills.
  10. Also right field is tricky with the overhang and wall angles. Kepler has the most experience in Target's RF and he plays it well. Hmmm. I wonder if Max and Pagan will be making the road trips to Toronto this year?
  11. Looking at these figures, why in the world would Rocco bat Max in any of the first 5 positions? I'm beginning to think the problem is Rocco instead of Max.
  12. Best wishes to Jason Castro. I hope to see him in a Twins uniform someday.
  13. Good point String. It all depends on who the Twins could get for Arraez. Everything is relative.
  14. I guess I would trade Arraez (Batting Champion) for Judge (HR Champion), if only Judge weren't a free agent. Alas.
  15. I suppose the 1982 Cardinals could win 62 games in 2023, even though they would all be over the age of 63 and many some would be in their mid-70's and Jim Kaat would be 85. I bet Ozzie Smith could still pick it at age 68.
  16. Thank you for a good update, Theo. My wife and I were discussing this very thing this weekend, since we are planning our annual spring training trip to Ft. Myers.
  17. Bogaerts, not Bogaertes. We all make mistakes.
  18. Correction to your fine article: Bogaertes is 2 years older than Correa, not 1 year younger.
  19. Steve, what an awesome adventure. I look forward to your sure to be interesting posts.
  20. Good point Doc. We must remember to sign a catcher quickly.
  21. Looking at DeGrom's contract and Eflin's contract, and if that is going to set the standard for Rodon's contract, then I am re-thinking my desire to have the Twins sign Rodon. I'm glad the Twins are not stuck with either of those contracts 1) with an injury prone starter and 2) a starting pitcher who is not as good as what the Twins already have lined up for next year, and probably the 2 years after.
  22. Cody, Your excellent article convinced me. Let's see what Ronny Of these 4 pitchers for the 8th relief pitcher, right now my choice would be Henriquez. Let's give them all a chance in S.T.
