  1. Miranda looked OK at 3B to me when he played there this last season.
  2. Gio, Thanks for an awesome year with the Twins. I understand why it was good for the team to trade Gio, but I will miss his hustle and his demeanor. I wish Gio the very best.
  3. Like actor Cuba Gooding said in the movie, "Jerry McGuire" : "Show me the money, Jerry. Show me the money".
  4. If I owned the Twins, I would instruct my FO to do offer just what you suggested. All three (Judge, Correa and Verlander) are class individuals and are "winners". If this is affordable, why sign lesser accomplished players? I'd prefer Rodon for 5 years , in lieu of Verlander for 2 years.
  5. Congratulations to a great player. Rod Carew must be very proud. I know I am.
  6. With baseball players, like with most employees, it takes time and experience to get better at the job. Think how little you knew about your job when you first started. Remember how you learned each and everyday ways to improve your performance. It's the same with baseball players. Pressly was learning, getting stronger and getting better. And probably so will Acala and Celestino. They are still younger than Pressly was when he came to the Twins. I think Pressly would want to be in Texas, his off season home.
  7. Nick - Thank you for one of the best TD articles I have read. Great analysis. Reads like the summation of an investigation of an expert economist, hired by a company to analyze a labor problem in an industry, including recommendations for improvements. Send this to Derek Falvey and Thad Levine, for them to use as a starting point going into this off season and on into the 2023 season.
  8. Mike, I wrote my post below, before reading your post above. You and I had the same thought about a possible similar future article about Graterol. I wanted to mention my sequence, so you would know I was not plagiarizing your fine post.
  9. I agree with Nick's point here and Game7-91. This right here is the problem as I see it. I must agree that identifying future pitching talent is hard to do, especially relief pitching. If it were an exact science, then all the teams could do it. I wonder if, in 3 years, there will be a similar article written in TD about Graterol, Gil and especially Petty. I suppose that is part of the risk taken by Falvine and why they are paid the big bucks. Not all risks taken will end well. That's life. I do admire Derek Falvey and Thad Levine and Rocco I am reminded of Theodore Roosevelt's writing about "the man in the arena", who is actually making these difficult decisions at the risk of his job, his family's welfare, his reputation and massive public criticism when things don't turn out well. Onward and upward.
  10. Thank you, Seth. I needed that hope-filled article/interview this Monday morning.
  11. Well... this post makes complete sense and should put an end to the assumptions/rumors/questioning when the Twins pulled Gray. But I still have a nagging thought where I wonder how Gray would pitch, if the Twins let him pitch an inning or even two innings deeper into his games. Just saying.
  12. I have enjoyed watching Sonny Gray pitch for the Twins this past year. I hope 2023 will be a huge success for him with the Twins. I think it will be. (cough -petty-cough).
  13. Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo !
  14. Sign Vazquez if he is available. If Houston signs him, then sign Barnhart (bats left-handed) or Hedges. Don't use the catcher as DH on days off.
  15. Hopefully Gray has a better year next season than Petty has.
  16. My definition of a perfect offseason would be for Buck, Maeda, Alcala, Larnach, Kirilloff, Mahle, Polanco, Arraez, Gray, Jeffers and Lopez to all report healthy to spring training. Sign Rodan, Correa, Vazquez and Judge. Hey, before you criticize me, you asked what my perfect off season would be.
  17. 1) Sign Rodon and put Maeda in the bullpen. 2) Put Julian or Martin or Larnach or Kirilloff in the OF. 3)Trade Kep and Pagan for flame throwing prospects. Let Ober start. Sign Navarez or Vazquez to catch with Jeffers as backup. I would really like to have Correa, and would encourage the Twins to sign him for the next 8 years for whatever the cost may be. It's not my money.
  18. In many articles, catcher is ranked as the most important defensive position. Many articles say SS is the most important defensive position. Most agree that it is one or the other. Let me ask two questions: 1) who are the Twins catchers for 2023? 2) who are the Twins shortstops for 2023? Hmmmmmmmmm. We may be in for a long year in 2023. I wish the Twins would stop this nonsense which we fans endure every off season, and just sign a smart, great fielding catcher long term and a great SS long term.
  19. It's the red button on the top of the hat. Looking at these two hats is like looking at "Can you find 3 differences in the 2 pictures" in a children's "Highlights Magazine".
  20. You just stole my thunder JM. I like the red button on top also.
