  1. Welcome to TD! John mentioned Fubu as a cable option in the article, but not as a streaming. True, it’s kinda both, as you buy a bundle of channels like cable, but unlike cable Fubu (YouTube tv, etc) doesn’t have the wire attached to the service.
  2. Functionally, I’m happy with the forums. Echoing others, not a fan of threaded posts. Super-duper hate SB Nation Agreed with Squirrel 😱 that the forums are a bit too granular. on the disjointed discussions, remember when we merged forum topics and article comments that converged? Everyone hated it, it was a pain in the ass for the moderators, tons of complaints, from posters, but the topics were well organized. I’m not sure we “really want” to fix it, at least in a straight forward manner
  3. Just because Taylor signed for $4m, doesn’t mean he would have signed that with the Twins. Humans can be illogical at times, especially when it comes to money
  4. Alex Kirilloff has looked better You can fire the hitting coach, fire Baldelli too. They’ll both be replaced with their clones.
  5. No player has ever had a sophomore slump in the history of baseball except for Wallner and Julien because Popkins coached them. there’s a name for it because it does happen. The league continuously adjusts. i have to imagine, if there wasn’t a budget constraint, the FO would not have targeted Santana or Margot.
  6. Behind SWR is Festa and Dobnak… SWR looked great, I kinda want to see Festa, after that there’s nobody I want to see in Minneapolis at any point this season. considering the average team uses 10 starters in a season, and this one has 7…. there is a lot to lose by making that swap. if Louie isn’t a starter in Minneapolis, he needs to start in St Paul
  7. To add the modern twist to the discussion… an equally polarizing stat. Is WAR (Wins Above Replacement) the new “Wins” stat? fancier, certainly more complicated… is it more or less subjective than Wins?
  8. While I disagree with you on the value of the stat, I very much like how you phrased your argument! Well said!
  9. If Bowman is DFA’d today, doesn’t Alcala have to stay at AAA for a week or 10 days?
  10. Uh, there is way too much season left to not keep Louie stretched out. SWR will be back up, but Louie needs to be a starting pitcher (either in St Paul or Minneapolis)
  11. After a few flashes last year, but mostly frustrating… it’s pretty awesome he put it together this year (so far)
  12. He was dollars to even out a trade, not a target. The injury risk was the reason why the trade worked the way it did.
  13. When Pitchers and Catchers report, some hitters show up, but they don’t really do drills or backfield games. The first full week with hitters, usually end of Feb into beginning of March, is my favorite. Just a couple days after they begin drills, but the moods are still good because they are all catching up with old friends and family. the closer to opening day, the more minor leaguers get reassigned and things get serious. It’s still a lot of fun! But that first full week… and you can also run into “us” at ST too. Many of us go every year, meet us at winter meltdown, see us again at ST. i usually run into Seth Stohs for some reason. He’s always super nice!
  14. Terry Francona, a guy who doesn’t swing a bat or throw a ball, worth the same as Gerrit Cole, Sonny Gray, or Luis Robert?
  15. This website’s revenue is driven by caretakers and advertising. When you post a link outside of Twinsdaily to drive clicks to your own content, you’re taking advertising revenue away from the small business owners of this site. they let you do it. That’s a privilege
  16. That’s easy for you to say in hind site, without the decades that many of us have put in to making this site what it is if Phil Mackey had gotten his way (he wasn’t the only one)… you and I wouldn’t be having this conversation now. There wouldn’t be a forum for us to have a coherent discussion at all. That the owners of this site stuck to their guns and pushed through is why we have what we do. They let you post content created elsewhere here. Do you understand how privileged you are? Try putting up a Jeff Bezos or Sam Walton poster up in your local boutique and see how they like it.
