  1. They’re better than “holding his own” but not really “excelling”. wRC+ is league and park adjusted but not position adjusted, 100 is league average hitter all encompassing.
  2. Correct, the question Brock posed was “Should they?” Not “Do you want them to?”. Buxton and Ryan are the only reasons to watch right now. I want to keep watching them in Twins uniforms. They should trade them while they can. With the looming labor strife and lost season, this team won’t be competitive while Buxton is under contract.
  3. from To just like that
  4. To me the injuries are a sign that the Twins should speed up, not slow down. Don’t let perfection be the enemy of the good: if there are only so many bullets in the clip, better to use them in combat than the gun range. If he can’t hit the target, don’t send him like a lamb to slaughter.
  5. He was 2 for 3 with a bb. It looked for a while in June like he turned back into a pumpkin, but a good weekend he hasn’t had an extra base hit in 38 PAs and his fielding has somehow gotten worse from last year. He has no lateral range and my 9 year old who plays soccer throws harder than Keaschall does. Agreed, I don’t think he “needs a reset” anymore. I did… but he also isn’t a good player. He could be, so I wouldn’t want to give up on him, but also with top prospects getting their first callups, the bench needs to be more of a traditional bench instead of play every day in different places guys. If Keaschall has a future with the team, he needs to play every day but not take PAs from Culpepper, Lee or Gonzalez and he can’t throw hard enough to play outfield, can’t hit well enough for DH 1B, what do you do with him?
  6. The ushers check behind home plate and the club level, but after the first inning, down either base line is usually fair game
  7. I’m with you, to a point. In 2026 Jenkins, Gonzalez, Culpepper and Rodriguez all should have significant playing time. That eliminates Arcia, Gray, Kreidler and one of Clemens or Bell from the active roster. OF Jenkins, Buxton, Rodriguez IF Gonzalez 1B Lewis 2B Culpepper SS Lee 3B DH Larnach C Jackson/Jeffers Bench Caratini, Clemens, Keaschall, Martin the really big hole left in this is Caratini Lee would have to backup SS, Sub Gray for Clemens and the versatility on the bench is lost, as well as a downgrade hitting. could they be ok? Yeah, but return would have to be worth it. Bell, Kreidler, Arcia, not worried about what the return is. Gray, I might demote Keaschall first before DFA/Trade.
  8. I tagged you in my unquoted comment because you thumbs down voted and I am genuinely curious about your point of view. the OP suggested that the return for trading Clemens could be similar to that of Willi Castro. My response that you downvoted was if that type of return came for Clemens, they should do it, Castro was 27 at the time, and had 2+ years of quality history, compared to 30 and 8 weeks of quality history. Castro then should be more valuable than Clemens now based on track record and age. I then asked why…. i will now add to my previous post. If the trade is similar to Castro return, do it. If not, don’t. Clemens has value, which is why he might return value in trade. He should not be traded for the sake of making a trade.
  9. If Clemens didn’t have value for the Twins, this wouldn’t be a discussion. What value would he have to anyone if he can’t beat out Outman for playing time?
  10. @RpR why do you disagree? do you disagree that 1996 comes before 1997? do you disagree about hitting assessments? do you feel that Clemens should not be available at any price? please elaborate
  11. The big difference between Castro and Clemens, is Castro hit above league average for 2.5 seasons before being traded, where Clemens has hit above league average for about 8 weeks. Clemens is older than Castro, so I highly doubt anyone believes that Clemens 8 weeks is sustainable but if the similar offer comes, pull the trigger! It won’t….
  12. Prielipp was really inefficient but that ball coming out of his hand is electric, super fun to watch. Agreed on Royce, the articles about quieting his movement… he looked really noisy to me too.
  13. It was super fun watching the Twins make a push at a comeback this afternoon. Too bad they came up short, but it was awesome they were in position to win at the end
  14. Generally I agree that the Twins should go young, but struggling in the bigs can be detrimental to development. in terms of playing position, Shelty was recently quoted to the effect of: there’s only one player who’s written in ink to a position and that’s Buxton, everyone else needs to be flexible. In my opinion, a player needs to earn that role, none of them have, save Buxton, I agree with Shelton.
  15. With a good May he is up to 78 wRC+ and is currently 3 for his last 20 while not able to throw it 70 ft and doesn’t move laterally well. When Culpepper comes up for SS maybe Keaschall gets a reset too, Gray/Clemens play 2B Royce plays 1B
  16. Sure does show the difference between AAA and The Show doesn’t it?
  17. One bad game… might be a bit quick to say his demotion didn’t work
  18. It’s on the mlb.com videos, confirmed, straight upper inside quadrant in the zone, perfect to pull and hammer down the line. just watch it go by
  19. I think giving Lee last Aug/Sept to show what he had at SS was good. Unfortunately what he showed was enough for me to know that he wasn’t a SS…. Yet there he played for 1/3 of 2026.
  20. Royce and Matt each got benched for a few days after struggling, then got demoted. Keaschall has been on the struggle bus, let’s see if the day off gets him a mini-reset or if he gets demoted too
  21. Glad to see Lewis hit the milestones to make his return to Minneapolis so quickly! Looking forward to Royce on the right side of the diamond
