I don't I have to see a player perform before I can rank them. I never like taking a prospect position for someone who is not playing. There is plenty of time for ranking once they get back on the field.

I am hoping he turns the corner. It is a tough transition, but at this point Larnach looks like a better option.

Floro has to go, but we also cannot count or Headrick. We have to hope for three new arms in the pen - Winder mopped up, but he is not one I would count on in playoffs. I wish Stevenson would get hot - he is very expendable at this point. And I want to apologize to Kepler fans, I thought he was washed up, but this second half is the Kepler we were expecting after his break out year. And not enough accolades can be showered on Lewis!~

I am disappointed in Mercedes his stock is dropping like Balazovic and Headrick. I put Woods-Richardson in the stock is dropping category too. I will be interested in the next adjustment to the prospect list.

Week in Review: Mission Accomplished
mikelink45 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
With Kiriloff back and Julien at 1B could Kiriloff replace Wallner as OF? Wallner is losing a lot of trust as the comments show. I would love to see him get hot as we finish the season.- 30 replies

I am concerned about Jax. Does he have times to get right? And Wallner has disappeared. I agree with another comment - Larnach time. But most important Lopez is ready for the playoffs.

I like Gordon and I think he poses no threat to the current roster now that Gallo was found to have a convenient injury. No move this year. Let spring training and the off season determine what happens.

Another nice win. I am worried about Wallner and I am a fan of his. He has to escape the K streak and start making contact. Maeda does not look like a playoff starter right now, but he takes time to settle in which makes me worry about him in the pen for the playoffs.

Happy for Keuchel, but he is not a playoff pitcher. The Mets are not a good team. Glad we won, so happy to have Lewis and nice to see Stevenson getting a reward for a good season in St Paul. Question - Winder is now the Cole Sands. Let's get someone in the pen that we will use. Same with Floro.

Twins Minor League Report (9/7): Saints Slug to a Victory
mikelink45 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I am high on Taylor and the discussion on the teams WAR leaders seems to agree with me. I have seen a lot of criticism of him, but he has been a really valuable option - more than Farmer, Gallo, Luplow.- 14 replies

I do not think this is necessary, but we do have some excess talent that we cannot get on the roster. But these trade ideas do not really clear those obstacles. What would you have to do to trade Buxton for Alonso?

I like to see a BR WAR comparison. Correa is number 11 on their list. And Matt Wallner slips into the top 10. Lucky for us the team stepped up, but what a year it could have been if the big contracts had produced. Twins Minor League Report (9/7): Saints Slug to a Victory
mikelink45 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Minor League Talk
I hope the FO is thinking of trade possibilities this winter with the players in St Paul who will be blocked in Minneapolis. They all look really good. If only the pitchers were as exciting as the hitters. Woods-Richardson looks like he has potential for a promotion soon and with Balazovic and Headrick struggling this year he might have passed them on the homegrown list.- 14 replies

I would rather have Celestino back up for a short period if we need a CF option.

Can Byron Buxton Actually Get Healthy?
mikelink45 replied to Ted Schwerzler 's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Wait until next year. Keep the chemistry that is currently on the Twins and plug in a couple high performing prospects. We really don't need what Buxton has given this year and we can't spend the time to experiment when the post season is approaching. I would be more excited to see Taylor back on the team. -
What Does a Lost Year Mean for José Miranda?
mikelink45 replied to Nick Nelson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
How does he bring his value back? I agree with those who point out that Lewis and Lee and Polanco and Julien have blocked him. I also think Kiriloff keeps him out of 1B and I expect we will have Solano and Farmer back. Martin may join Larnach, Kepler, Buxton (?), Taylor and Castro in the OF. If he is hitting in the minors at this stage in his career does that count as regaining his value? I do not have the answer but I feel sorry for him. He seemed to be on the right path. -
Did the Twins Mishandle Bailey Ober in 2023?
mikelink45 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
I would have used the IL - 10 day. Rest him. Another start in St Paul is still putting more strain on his arm. Give him vacation, let him get service time and then start him with the Twins. -
That Saints lineup is really good - impressive and promising. How many will be in Minneapolis next year?

Nice job by Varland. I think he is going to be a difference maker. Wallner has been sitting to close to Gallo - make contact!!!! 11 Ks by this team on its crash course to a new strikeout record.

Nice optimism and justified by the way our team is playing. I really give a lot of credit to Lewis - sometimes it is more than a bat - he seems to have the energy and personality to do what we expected Correa to do. Nice to have a real team leader. Everything you said is accurate, what you didn't say is that we continue to let players like Gallo and Luplow take ABs that should go to younger players with more potential.
