  1. We celebrate one day and weep the next - that is 500 ball and it is all this team is good for. I have decided that Gallo will not be DFA'd until we secure the strikeout record. We like records, but look out Atlanta is after our HR record. And the biggest news - Sands got used for 1/3 of an inning. I think it was a familiarization trip
  2. Time for Balazovic to drop off the list, if not for innings in MLB, for lack of performance. So disappointed. But Jenkins, Keaschall, and Winokur all are looking great - can we keep our batting coaches away from them and let them use their natural talents?
  3. Nice writing. Yes, they raised expectations and being a fan is all about expectations. But this team has not been fun either - with the exception of Willi Castro who came out of nowhere. No Turtle, no Colon - just very well paid stars who forgot how to be stars. We are so desperate for inspiration that we get excited with Byron Buxton walks through centerfield. The young players have been the breathe of fresh air we need - especially Julien and Wallner, but the injuries to Lewis and then to Kiriloff remind us of how fragile they are. And Balazovic, Sands, Winder remind us of their greatest flaws.
  4. I have liked both Castro and Taylor despite the negative comments that they have received. They bring something that is not measured in analytics and we would have been in bad shape without them.
  5. I can only add that you are very accurate and if they are hesitating because there might be a question who to drop from the 40 man it is really short sighted. We need to prepare for the post season.
  6. I think Brent Headrick has lost his shine - I do not see him holding a top 20 prospect position. 5.01 and 6.01 ERAs don't make a prospect.
  7. Good game and good comments. The only other takeaway for me is continually seeing Sands at the bottom of the BP list with no appearances. Surely there must be someone we would actually see enter a game.
  8. His relationship with Reggie Jackson is the low point in his career as a savant punk manager. In Oakland he ruined a good pitching staff. You didn't even get to the classic marshmallow salesman fight. Martin was full of demons and an extraordinary drive.
  9. Time to move on. The FO has to learn how to trade vets at their near peak value like Cleveland does with its SP. We have the reinforcements, but we need BP, perhaps more SP, and a right handed OF. If we can use our Vets to get them instead of prospects I prefer it.
  10. Yes we should be concerned. Not sure what we can do about it. But last game his hits all came off his curveball - yes it is supposed to be his best pitch, but if you get two fastball strikes you can now predict a curve will follow. The pitching coach should see this and vary the sequences more.
  11. Try the reliever - if Kuechel is the guy we just saw and they are skipping his starts its time to fill the roster with players we can use. In the article we should try Jeffers at first I would only be for this if Carmargo is up - otherwise put WIlliams at 1B. I am still not sold on Martin and if we want to give Stevenson another shot it would not hurt. I do like Prato too.

  13. No reason not to try him. I am not that impressed with him, but Sands and Winder and Balazovic are not the answers to the BP needs. I never expected much from Sands, but Winder has really disappointed me. 14. How disappointing. Jax is in such a funk that Rocco should not have needed any of his numerous assistant coaches to tell him three batters and get him out of there. We are playing the worst teams and still struggling. Thanks Cleveland for giving up on the season. Julien is wonderful. Lewis is a stud. Kepler has regained his reputation. But this was a lost we should not have suffered. And it is hard to continually root for the team when they have such a hard time putting all the pieces together.
  15. It is time to give Julien the experience - we did it with Arraez. But don't mess with a catcher who already has enough on his plate.
  16. You really worked hard to make a lousy outing by Dobnak sound like it was a positive. Sorry, I like Randy, but don't bring him back to Minneapolis.
  17. Hinch proved, once again, that going by the book is not wise. Faedo should have gone as far as possible, especially when you have a BP that is deficient in every category. But thank you A J for sticking with your plan.
  18. I would have Lee number 6 until he moves to MN and proves himself. The other 5 are already establishing themselves.

  20. I agree. I'm saying the same thing you are. It's just not exciting yet. Hopefully it will become more intriguing as the new player start to develop
  21. I hope you are right, but right now it's too early to say that for sure.
  22. I say this in contrast to the lists with Lewis, Kiriloff, Julien, Miranda, Steer, Encarcion, Balazovic, Ober... That was when our farm system was rated near the top.
  23. It is not my judgment - it is my question about moving Lee to 1B if Kiriloff is expected to be back.
  24. It seems as if the backside of this essay is that we cannot count on Kiriloff. After multiple years of injury is Alex now considered a lesser bat and not someone to count on going forward? In three years Alex has only played in 173 games. And in the minors we know he was also injury prone. Is he another Buxton? So sad.
