  1. It is always exciting to see progress in your highly rated prospect. Just put some bubble wrap around him and keep him healthy. I would love to see 2024 or early 25.
  2. This is the ultimate SSS - I know it generates an article, but please - any six games during the year and you will see hitters that prosper and others that stuggle. In the playoffs it is attitude - Lewis and Correa. I remember Oakland in the playoffs when they had the bash brothers - the swing for the fence guys just are not good in the intense pitcher centric playoffs - sorry Wallner. but it is not kind to a lot of batters.
  3. Many on the IL don't need to come back. Most are marginal and if we are going to contend again we need better players. I do not see a problem here.
  4. I think the top four have to be put on the 40 man and there are at least four in the pitcher category that are easy decisions in my mind plus Luplow and probably Gordon.
  5. Put him on the market, but only sell high. If we keep him we are fine, if we bring up Carmargo we are fine, but don't spend FA dollars on someone else.
  6. It depends on the payroll and the TV contract - if they have the money they keep him, if they are tight they trade him.
  7. I really don't see the problem. For the most part these are marginal players. If they are not going to make the team or be trade bait it is time to move on. Not all will be gone, but what matters now is the immediate future.
  8. Save trade capitol and money with internal options and use our assets for pitching.
  9. We have enough depth with the next wave of prospects that I would not waste trade capitol on 1B. I just wish that Kiriloff was not our infield version of Buxton. I want to see him have a full year.
  10. Hope is one of the things that gets us through the off season.
  11. My only concern going in to next year - at this time - is Kiriloff and his too frequent injuries. We need to figure it out and make sure we do not have Gallo as his replacement. Otherwise the off season as it usually is will be filled with surprises, frustrations and expectations.
  12. Only complaint - why take Ryan out after 2? But the season is over, it was fun, there was a lot of controversy for all of us to obsess over and we have a positive outlook for next year. Now - who do I root for the rest of the post season? I guess my choice is Arizona just because they look like the unlikeliest.
  13. Ryan gives up HRs - Alvarez hits HRs. Not a good combination. So yes, walking him is a safer choice. I am holding back all personal predictions and just hoping things turn upside down - Ace Grey melts down, Ryan who was passed over comes in and shines! Talk to the Baseball gods - this is good theater.
  14. Not for me when he makes that much of a difference.
  15. I expect that Ryan should be ready quickly if needed, but this makes a lot of sense. Amazing after the way that Ober has been handled.
  16. Lewis is my choice- he came in with a hot bat, a great attitude and energized a team that was just playing 500 ball no matter how good Gray and Lopez were pitching. He was the difference maker and I look forward to a long productive career. This is my MVP even though all the others are worthy contenders for the honor.
  17. At this stage, I am just happy to be watching playoff baseball and I think the Twins have an excellent chance in this series. I would not favor them, but the odds are closer to 50-50 than many would have predicted.
  18. No to Buxton - his statement about not being 100% is enough to convince me. Yes to Ober, I might start him over Ryan.

  20. I see him at third. Players seem to do best when they have a position rather than just a bat.
  21. I take Larnach - not Buxton, I think Ober has passed Ryan in reliability, but it is too late to line him up for game three. Paddock in - Keuchel out. And most important - we need Lewis! He is more valuable to us this year than Correa or Buxton.
