  1. It seems as if the backside of this essay is that we cannot count on Kiriloff. After multiple years of injury is Alex now considered a lesser bat and not someone to count on going forward? In three years Alex has only played in 173 games. And in the minors we know he was also injury prone. Is he another Buxton? So sad.
  2. The prospect list does not go down very far before it becomes a lot of question marks and not very exciting at this point.
  3. This team likes the vets - not sure they will move on from Keuchel even though it makes sense. I am so confused between Twins great and Twins awful and the ying and yang of their play that I am stumped to find something meaningful to add to your posting.
  4. Move on! I have written so much negative about Gallo I can only say let him go now - he goes out on a high note. How great.
  5. I just remember the difference that Shannon Stewart made when he came in. Sometimes it is psychological and if it works that is enough reason to make a move.
  6. I would drop Mahle, but I am seldom in line with the FO. If they want Gray to stay they might have to fire Rocco and get a new pitching coach. Maeda is the most intriguing and most likely. The one I would keep. But I really am concerned about the Twins inability to work with our young pitching staff. Headrick, Balazovic, Winder have not prospered so why do we think the next round of call ups will? Ryan grew up in a different system. Ober is the exception, but I am worried about his stamina for the rest of the season.
  7. I understand - can you imagine having to sit through all their games and go through the ups and downs that all the fans have, but still you have to describe what is happening (or not happening) and stay beyond the last pitch. I believe they might need combat pay or treatment for PTSD,
  8. We wondered if Kuechel had what it took to come back - we have an answer We wondered if we could convert our minor league starters into BP arms - we have that answer too Gallo came in to keep our strikeout record in sight. Help - how could I spend the evening following this game?
  9. After suffering through tonights game I would just swap the Saints for the Twins.
  10. Love Dobnak's story and attitude, but I hope we continue to find arms that are better than his.
  11. Sabato's line does not look like a first round 24 year old prospect to me. 41% K rate and a line that is only 221/342/421/762. He has a long way to go.
  12. Prato, Larnach, and Funderburk would be my choices. The starting pitchers promoted to the BP have not done well, a RP is someone I would expect more from. Larnach for Gallo (I am a broken record). Prato because he has earned it. Celestino is not showing enough to be back up. Same with Henriquez and Varland. Lee is still a year away. Let's see production in AAA over the next few weeks before pushing for a call up. Martin was mentioned in another comment, but he has been too inconsistent at all levels since we got him. I am curious about Stevenson, but really want to see Carmargo get a call up. The league loves catchers and he or Vasquez could be trade bait. The bigger question for me is who is cut for Kiriloff and Lewis?
  13. Larnach showing all he can, but he is stuck. Enlow showing another poor performance. I just have not believed in him since we drafted him. Would we ever consider trading Vasquez and bringing up Carmargo?
  14. Well we had only 9 Ks - Gallo and Jeffers had 5, but wow, we were under double figures. But, of course, we also did not have double figures in hits either. What the Hell? I am just besides myself trying to figure out this team. Do we have an upper limit of games above 500 that we are allowed? Hello Cleveland can you trade away more of your pitchers and hitters so we have a chance to stay ahead of you? Of course we were playing Detroit. who are only 12th in the American League. We hit, the pitching is bad, We pitch, the hitting is bad. And Duran cannot get a clean inning now so our BP Saviour is human and flawed. We need help.
  15. I totally agree and have really hated to read so many negative statements about both. There is more to baseball than OPS+
  16. I am concerned that Bailey is running out of gas. Here is Baseball Reference look at last four games. In his career he has pitched 92, 56, and now 108 innings. This is a similar situation to Ryan. DateV Opp Result IP H R SO 2023-08-09 DET L 5-9 5.0 11 5 9 2023-08-04 ARI W 3-2 5.0 6 2 3 2023-07-29 KCR L 7-10 4.0 11 6 5 2023-07-23 CHW W 5-4 (12) 6.0 5 3 6 And Balazovic has now joined Winder, Sands, Headrick in the less than reliable former SP category. I am disappointed in this. And the team seems to be having a case of altitude sickness since they were really starting to pull away from .500.
  17. I like Wallner - he is providing the bat they hoped they would get with Gallo. Larnach has had a number of opportunities and has not capitalized on them. I know he has had seasons shortened by injury and he looks so good in AAA. If we had trade proposals why is Larnach still here?
  18. I do hope they find someone to take on Polanco. Even his fielding is not at the level we need. Gallo (enough Said)
  19. Duran and Ryan regaining their early season dominance.
  20. Nice take - I have Castro as a lock right now. He is really popular with management, and I hope they don't fall in love with Luplow.
  21. I am always looking for prospect advancement and I think our new core is showing how it can work. What is missing is the prospects from the mound. Move the chaff off the major league position roster, but figure out how to transition pitchers to productive major leaguers too.
  22. Having an artificial knee has hampered my hiking experience and my wife is still struggling with her first replacement while recovering from her second. Artificial knees reduce pain and allow you to move about, but not play baseball.
  23. Get a Saint (not a religious comment) and put him at 1B. Quit thinking of old and on the downslope players and put one of the many players in St Paul on the roster and give them a chance. A .160 BA is not much of a bar to clear. Right handers on the Saints - Chris WIlliams, Jair Camargo, Brooks Lee, Royce Lewis, Austin Martin, Kyle Garlick, Anthony Prato. Surely one of them can take Gallo's place and cover 1B.
  24. His injury plan - plan on being injured. So sorry, but his fragile body has proven it will not hold up. My only concern is that Lewis and Kiriloff might be following that path too.
