  1. We can only hope - I was looking for Pagan on your list since they are set on keeping him, can they turn him into a good RP?
  2. Sano was really a disappointment to many of us. We had higher hopes, but he regressed (not just the injury) instead of progressing. Not that I like Gallo any better except for his glove. I do hope he finds himself and gets back into MLB, but the fact that no one has taken a chance on him so far says a lot about the leagues perspective.
  3. With Rod Carew and Luis Arraez setting the standard, I warn any future Twins that winning a batting title is the quickest way out of town. I just came back from Panama and went by Rod Carew Stadium in Panama City many times. Perhaps I will see a Luis Arraez stadium someday if I am allowed to return to Venezuela.
  4. Wonderful memories - in today's ball game he would receive more ABs and attention.
  5. The unanswered question now is who gets on base?
  6. What a shock. I'm on my way back from Panama and having something to eat in Chicago and then I see my favorite player has been traded. I do say that the twins front office did a good job even though I hate seeing him go
  7. Some of these definitely could be part of a trade package. I hope so anyway
  8. The twins have become the Red Cross of injuries. I would love it someday to have a healthy arm come in and just pitch
  9. The important thing here is that it shows our front office is multidimensional. While others think that shortstop is all they cared about they are busy feeling our bullpen with talents that other teams have not figured out how to use or succeed with.
  10. If he doesn't we will all be disappointed. Now let's hope that old injury doesn't flare up.
  11. The only way to know the best trade chips is to listen to what the other teams want. It's always easy to say we've got extra outfielders so trade one or we got too many Short stops now so let's trade one. But if the other side doesn't want them there is no trade. I'm also questioning the wisdom of trading Gray. What has more value in this day and age than a good pitcher and if we think he doesn't have value now because he has only one year left on his contract the other teams will feel the same. We speculate on the value of our two returning injured pitchers but we have no true way of judging whether they will be good or bad. I have no problem with a trade I just can't speculate until I know the teams that are involved and what each needs.
  12. I am in an airport in Houston so I don't know if I have already responded or not. It'll look like my response disappeared. I think it's great that would cut down the years. The money is something I can't discuss because it doesn't make sense to me on any level in baseball but this retains the status quo it does not put us over the top. I'm glad to have him and he is an excellent player but our new catcher may be more of a difference Maker as long as we have last year's team in place. The key now is the development of our young players and the health of our pitchers.
  13. Can we please add a real reliever? Is fine to fill up our Fix-It shop with all of these guys with potential and no control but I don't want them on the mound when the game counts. I would like us to find a reliever who isn't DFA by another team
  14. I like the adjustment in years - this is what makes sense. Good luck to Correa to stay in top shape. When you look at the impacts I have to say I prefer Gordon to so who do we off load one of these to. I am stuck with Gallo so some of my desires will be circumvented since I want Arraez, Kiriloff, and Larnach all in the lineup. Of course the question mark is Kepler.
  15. Since I do not buy in to Gallo, the retention of Correa keeps the status quo, but Vazquez is actually the person who moves us up a notch. No more Sanchez and Jeffers can work on getting better. The team is in a better situation. I like Miranda at third, Kiriloff at 1st with Arraez, Larhach or Wallner at DH - quit looking at has beens. We need to move forward and this can make a difference. Now the biggest need is for Maeda and Mahle to reach the levels that were projected. The team is feeling better if we can pull all these things together and if they are willing to pull the Gallo plug if he does not work out.
  16. Hurry up and get that physical done. Let's move on. It is an interesting signing. (If only he could pitch too.)
  17. This is Minnesota - What is NICE about Bauer?
  18. Only Chafin. The other positions are full and none of these would be an upgrade. Hire Nelson Cruz as a hitting coach - not a player. With all the talk of catcher shortages the fact that Sanchez is still out there speaks to his reputation and skills.
  19. Fun premise, and he does fit our profile - high potential (of injury that is) who once was good and we know we can fix what ever is wrong. Last time he was good was 2018! I would have loved the Sale of the pre-2018 years, but sometimes I read TD and Twins reports like I am getting an update on a local hospital. Can we find someone healthy?
  20. I agree with the other posters - Wacha is not going to move the needle. He is not better than what we have. If he was as good as his won - loss record last year Boston would resign him - they need help. But his history is not good. Check out his erratic performane on BR. When teams desperately need SP - the fact he is still available should raise red flags.
  21. Julien has a problem in that 2B is occupied and when Lewis comes back it becomes even more crowded. Yet I would like to see him in Minneapolis. I know these things eventually work themselves out, but he has a road block for now - if Polanco is traded he will be up. Lee certainly started out his career on a really high note and I would love to see him on the team this year. If we end up with Correa then his path to the bigs may be blocked this year. Like Julien, it might take a trade to open up a path. Balazovic was my favorite prospect pitcher until AAA happened. I do not see him with the Twins in 23. I just hope he does not turn into the next Thorpe. Martin? Where does he play? OF is too full. Infield has the Julien and Lee and Lewis ready to move up. I can see him as part of a trade.
  22. Are the people with SF and NY stupid? Are their medical staffs incompetent. Yes sign Correa, but stop the multiple years.
  23. News flash - Boras says - I have another team that will spend more. Cohen says, go to them, bring their best offer, we will tweak it and you will have your contract. The Twins tried, but come in second again.
  24. Okay - sign Correa, but be realistic - two major teams with lots of resources backed off. I know our attitude is that we can fix everyone and our records that....well it is an attitude. But let's not be stupid - five years. A team like the Mets or Giants can live with sunk costs, we cannot. The leverage should be ours. Not to rub Correa's nose in it, but the original offer should no longer be in place.
