  1. Please remember Kiner-Falefa - and trade Gallo. I hate that signing so much. We can and should do better.
  2. For a player we expect so much from Sano is not a good comp
  3. Ted you have definitely found something to give you hope. Throughout your writing you remain so positive - thank you, even though I do not feel the same. Buxton has now been a Twin 8 years. He has averaged 73 games a season. 67 in CF. He is a superstar if he is in the field, as a DH not so much. 244/301/473 - OPS+ 108. That is a good player, not a star. Yes I would like to see him step up and turn it around in year 9, but I have to see it to believe it. I will root for him, enjoy him, but I do not want false expectations. He is in line with Mahle, Maeda, Larnach, Kiriloff, Gallo, Kepler, Pagan, Lopez, Alcala, Ober, Jeffers as players we would sure like to see match our earliest expectations.
  4. This group is a puzzle to me - Prielipp continues to get a lot of recognition and I wonder if some of it is just our desperation coming through. Until he starts throwing and showing I cannot put him on my list, but it is interesting speculation. Jeffers drops down when the electronic balls and strikes takes away the magical "framing" technique and the larger bases and less ability to throw and hold the runner will put his arm in the spotlight and that does not seem good. But more than anything I really expected him to hit when he got to the Twins. Austin has been more of a disappointment than a star so far and I would have him in the lower five - Kiriloff, even with injuries would be the one I would trade him with. I hope Richardson comes through, but if he does is he BP or is he SP? I would trade places with Gray. Larnach is interesting because his path has been filled with as many injuries as Kiriloff and AK gets left off while Larnach is #14.
  5. The two vets downgraded for injuries and injury potential is a sad situation and he is joined by Mahle and Maeda as "?" for the year. Let's hope Gray holds up and demands a big contract because of real production. Lopez I am not sold on - not injury, just the BP uncertainty. Shine in the first half, poor in the second - I hope he rebounds, but he has no history to rely on. Wallner lost his spot with Gallo signed and is a reason signing Gallo was a poor decision. You are wading in a turbulent pool and I look forward to your next list. I do hope Varland can continue his rise! With Ober another health issue is he next in line?
  6. That does not impact me. What other teams choose to do does not make us smarter or better.
  7. Is that important? We already have Kepler in RF and he is above average
  8. Nice job - send each of them their resolutions and add: Balazovic - forget 2022 and show us that you are still a rotation arm for 23/24 Julien - force your way on to the mlb roster and build off 22 Canterino - Make the Rice reputation go away and get into the Twins BP
  9. Nice job - please send them a copy of their resolution. How about one for Balazovic - forget 2022 and show us you are ready for the MLB rotation I would give one to Julien too - force your way on to the club and build off 2022. Canterino - stay healthy and get to the Twins BP in 2023
  10. Not comparing them. I just questioned the wisdom of trading a number one pick like Petty. If we had them rated that high it's pretty hard to see giving up when we need to get the pipeline going.
  11. I am really looking forward to it. I think it is a great change if enforced - the batter also needs to be monitored. Reducing RP is also a good start.
  12. Cleveland still has #15 and #53 on MLB.com prospect list - two more pitchers ready to come up and step in. The Twins have Lee and Lewis and Rodriquez - no one else in the top 100 - can they pitch? Chase Petty is #9 on the Reds prospect list, Our top prospect is Connor Prielipp at #4 and he has not even pitched professionally yet. Richardson at #6, Let's get that pipeline going.
  13. From my home it is 2 hours - put the round trip with one of those non-competitive 3+ hour games and I have devoted a full day and then the concessions are so expensive that I just have to shake my head and wait till I get home. The fact is that baseball has become so long and boring on most nights that we have to have big electronic entertainment screens, mascot races, shooting T shirts into the crowd and other diversions that would not have fit into the 90 - 120 minute games in the 50s.
  14. For me, you tried too hard to sell Gallo. Let's wait and see, the sabrmetrics don't make the case.
  15. ESPN - ranking Twins 16 - "s we ponder the question of why a team would finally wave the white flag on hacktastic Miguel Sano and then go out and sign Joey Gallo"
  16. He is one of those players we all hope for but become frustrated with the wait. He and Buxton and Kiriloff are all just hope and tease. Just like Mahle and Maeda and Ober. We wish and wait. Thank goodness we have skinny little Gordon to stay healthy and flexible.
  17. Correa signs with every team in the league and as terms go down in years and money he finds that he has to pay them to play so he and Boras come up with a different strategy - Correa signs to play Strato-matic and stays home while they sue the medical team that did the operation on his ankle.
  18. His value is gained when he is traded in combination with another player. Alone we do not get anything. In fact we could trade Gallo and get the same poor return.
  19. PS - the Rangers signed Eovaldi. I would have been happier with him than with Carlos. Look at the Rangers new Rotation - We should have signed one of them if we were not SS obsessed
  20. One from our own group is minimum, Some did not have to be spent on Sabato! And FA did not need Gallo.
