  1. I like him, but IDK, he's not young, cost or team controlled. I'd much rather cash in a nice chunk of prospect equity and bring in a SP building block.
  2. A pretty cool stretch we have going here. Miranda having the second best stretch of hitting games I've ever seen a Twin have. 1st is still Mauer going 14/15 in a series against the Royals in...2006 I think? Sure is great to see all that green behind some of our better relievers. Nice rest now, another one at the ASB. Bring in a good, young, cost controlled SP at the deadline. I don't want anything else.
  3. If Detroit wants to move on from Maeda I'd send a low A prospect over for him. Then we could slow him down and acclimate him to the pen again. Worth the flier?
  4. As of right now, July 2nd, 7:39pm, I say we either: Stand Pat. This is a very strong team. Add a SP with control. Pay for it. Make him better and reap rewards for this year and several more years. End of list.
  5. Awful take. Spoken like someone who has never played a sport and had an injury effect their performance. There is literally no information to support your allegations. You see what you want to see.
  6. Can players on the 60 still be traded? Because sign me up for whatever discount that entails.
  7. I trust Lopez, Ryan, and Ober to start a playoff game. Doesn't mean I don't really, REALLY want Jesus Luzardo to join the party. But as things stand, if we continue hitting or even get better on offense, we can go far with those three.
  8. We don't know any such thing. Nothing happens until it happens. We never EVER going to sign Correa, until we did. Twice.
  9. Seriously, how long was that half inning?
  10. Well ok, disregard. Bring on Duran.
  11. How about we step on some necks with 4 runs? Give Duran another day or rest.
  12. This and a few others' takes seem a bit harsh. I appreciate the thought process in the article Mathew. It's one that many in our world would benefit from incorporating into our daily lives much more often. That being said, this is a team athletic contest, not life, and not a blueprint for life. I'm ok with understanding that the most important thing going on in that moment was the unfortunate injury, AND that also you keep participating in the contest. As someone else said, play to the whistle. I thought Keplers take was great. On the other hand, I admit I have admired times when the human element has risen above the contest element - A marathon runner collapsing, and the 2nd place person picking them up and carrying them across the finish line. A hockey game agreed to a draw after 2 periods when a national crisis is occurring. I could go on. But last night was a simple run of the mill event occurring in the framework of a game. I'm glad Kep ran.
  13. I gave you the thumbs up, but also à.... BOOOOOOOO!!!! Lol
  14. SWR more than handling #5 slot so far. More please.
  15. What a great win against a good team. Bats need to do more, but I'll take it. Win 1 of 16.
  16. I am a proud proponent of radio broadcasts. I listen to around 130 a year. This was my happy sacrifice when neither my wife nor I wanted cable. I love being able to work in my shop, fish, work in my huge garden, etc, etc, and still be able to follow. I genuinely like Gladden. I really like Provus. It works well for me.
  17. I mean, doesn't feel like much of a leap, but I'm calling sweep tomorow. March on to 16.
  18. I used that line several times in college with consistently poor results.
  19. I knew it was coming, but I did not think it would be this early. Miami - please send us Luzardo as soon as possible.
  20. What a terrible, terrible blow for Diamond Sports Group. Our inanimate sausage, incaple of coherent thought or reason, was their clear number 1 choice as new CEO. Over the last two weeks, literally 100% of their corporate resources have been devoted to headhunting him from our organization. Why can't good companies ever catch a break?
