  1. Tom, I totally agree about the nature of the game. My question is whether the increased speed and movement of pitches is now beyond what a human umpire can accurately perceive on a consistent basis?
  2. I'm not a Rocco fan, but his management was spot-on using IBBs to get Hamilton to the plate for a guaranteed out.
  3. How so many negative comments can come out of one of truly most balanced and beautiful Twins wins is beyond me, I will choose to bask in it, and in a season series win over the Yankees. Whatever happens tomorrow or in October, this one was sweet!
  4. I feel good about the pitching matchups, and the Twins are due to come out of their funk. Twins go 2-1 (no analytics were used in the formulation of this opinion) 😂🤣😂
  5. We are still looking at base stealing as it has been done for the last 100 years... thinking it is just something for young, fast players. Look at what the Yankees did. They have already adapted to the new rules/bases with a double-jump technique that doesn't require as much speed, but relies more on timing. Just sayin.
  6. If Pagan can get himself right, that would be some very sweet icing on an already impressive bullpen cake 🎂
  7. Very interesting to note which teams are at the top of the injury leader board… Yankees 11, Twins 9. And which team seems to be weathering the storm better. Go Twins!!
  8. No Buxton, Solano & Castro in the lineup against a righty... and, again, Pagan.
  9. This semed like a throw-away from the start. Line-up was middling, and then bring Pagan into a 1 run game!
  10. I think pitch count had a lot to do with the short outings. Our pitchers, in general, seemed to start nibbling around the edges of the zone when they've gotten a batter to 0-2, rather than attacking. This results in a lot of 3-2 counts and a lot of foul balls. 80ish pitches going into the 5th inning isn't going to get you very far. Lopez in particular seems to stay much more aggressive on 0-2, resulting in a lot lower pitch count. I hope the rest of the staff follows suit.
  11. Interesting note… Assume for a moment the data is good. Without Correa’s salary, the Twins would have made a small profit last year. How much revenue did his presence generate?
  12. Totally admire his emotional intelligence! Play the long game and take the time a full recovery requires, even when he is feeling ready.
  13. The way the injuries are starting to pile up, I may need a bit of Bacardi for my Kool-aid 🙄
  14. Ober's stock might be rising. Maeda is having another rough outing against an Atlanta lineup of mostly starters 😕 Doesn't look to have anything on his fastball.
  15. I'm a bit confused by those who say they can't watch the Twins. A subscription to MLB.tv is about $20/month for the season. I can watch literally any MLB game (and MiLB this year) on PC, tablet, phone, cast to a TV or on a smart TV app. The Twins games are available 2 hours after they finish (or in real time if you want to mess with a VPN). I think it is a decent deal. Will be even better if the blackouts go away once Diamond is completely defunct.
  16. I am liking the pitch clock in the spring training games I've watched. Watching the WBC games with the old pace makes them seem to plod on forever... and I could live without ever having to watch another hitter adjust his batting gloves again!
  17. Somewhat petty, but ultimately satisfying.... JK!
  18. I am somewhat confused by all the talk of slotting our young players with promising hit skills into the DH role. If you're going to employ a dedicated DH, it should be a spot for experienced ML hitters whose defensive side is in decline. There is something wrong with our farm system if it continues to develop so many young players who can hit but have no defensive skill.
  19. Nice quote from Solano that several teams were interested and he chose the Twins on reputation. Hopefully that reputation continues to grow with higher level FAs as well!
  20. Great to see these guys “hungry” to develop! Bodes very well for the quality of the starting rotation!
  21. I'm hoping he becomes a legendary baseball story of a pitcher turning a devastating injury into a devastating pitch no one has seen before!
  22. When talking about a negative outlier, the phrasing should be reversion to the mean.
