Totally agree, Hoskins plays every day in some capacity. 500 AB's for $15 million and he makes us better quickly. If it means trading for a pitching upgrade, Kiriloff might have be part of the deal because is a good power talent

Hate the idea of signing guys to minor league deals when this team has tradeable parts that get real major league talent. Also, hate lowering salary when we all know this team does lack money. Our ownership has deep pockets and crocodile arms.

I don't think any of these contracts are "bad" contracts. While Coreea's contract is a lot of money annually, he played almost every day last year, hurt. His offensive production was down but defensively and leadership-wise, he was exactly who they wanted him to be. Dobnak was a dumb contract, doubt we ever see him in the majors but, again, the money in today's game is small potatoes. In 2024, if spending $150 million on payroll is a bridge too far for Twins ownership, then I'll have to be content with winning the AL Central and not advancing past the ALDS. Texas, New York, Toronto, and probably Houston will all spend closer to $200 million and that $50 million difference will matter for talent and depth.

Always frustrated to read about Twins having interest in guys after arm surgery. When price of pitching continues to be the priority, I lose interest quickly. It's a me problem but it's a drag

You only trade your top prospects if you think you have a team 1 or 2 pieces short of a World Series ring. That's not the Twins, they'll keep youth to keep salary down knowing that winning the Central doesn't require a huge salary budget.

Trade him, especially if there is actual value for a guy with 800 hits and over 700 strikeouts. You'll never re-sign him after 2024 season so move him now and get more potential.

The line up, the line up, the line up. The success of July and September probably made us forget the 1st 3 months of the season. Changes need to be made, certain veterans should move on. I think a bullpen of Jax, Stewart, and Duran is very exciting to think about but becoming "professional" hitters is essential to taking the next step. You cannot win important games striking out 14 times as a team. We gotta get better there.

Have to be better offensively, I'd like us to stop flipping Kiriloff and Wallner so quickly when there's a pitching change. Each of the got 1 AB on Wednesday before being replaced; can't get comfortable when you don't get AB's
  9. Coach Wheels
I like Polanco's bat and switch-hitting gives us flexibility with a good hitter.
  10. Coach Wheels
This roster was good enough to win the Central and they've won series' over the last month. Beating anyone in the playoffs will be the great question. Live their starting pitching, still can see them getting shutout in the playoffs

I would DH Polanco every day and give Julien 2nd base. I want Castro in CF every day. No interest in giving Buxton a spot as a DH, he's been a .205 hitter and the team has played better without him. I also believe Maeda needs real consideration as the 3rd statrter; it might matter who they play as to Ryan or Maeda.
  12. Coach Wheels
    Willie Castro.
  13. Coach Wheels
I agree. Last night did nothing to make me think this is a done deal. Game 3 will be do-or-die and the start last night was disappointing. I think, depending on the opponent, game 3 will be a decision made once they know who they are playing.

Same here. His right vs lefty or lefty vs righty nonsense has to stop. He PH for Kiriloff, Wallner, and Julien yesterday with RH bats that are outs. Let the young guys take these AB's and learn to succeed and potentially win. It's complete garbage the philosophy he's using, like all our parts are the same; they aren't, it's not close.
  15. Coach Wheels
Polanco back as a Full time DH, and I'm in. I'm no longer interested in watching him play defense. Kepler can be traded, his value is real
  16. Coach Wheels
The Twins are already hiding Solano, Kiriloff, and possibly Miranda at 1st base. They can't hide everybody
  17. Coach Wheels
I think #3 is a weak argument. This is the time of year where, while the rest of your division sells, you buy. The goal can't be just "winning the division." It has to be winning in the playoffs, why did we sign Correa to a 6 year deal if all we want to do is win 87 games/year? If you don't like this roster, and I don't, getting a RH bat or 2 had to happen. Buxton, .205, Vazquez, .224, Taylor, .220, and Correa, .224. That's not beating Houston, Baltimore, Tampa Bay, or Texas; they needed help. Now, I understand that giving up Lewis, Kiriloff, or Bryce Lee were not options but, Holy cow, there had to be moves to make. Kepler and Polanco options cannot be picked up for next year, Gallo should be DFA'd today, and 2024 is now my focus. This team is doing nothing for me, again.
  18. Coach Wheels
Fair but this team isn't viable without a RH bat. Buxton is clearly not the answer in the middle of the lineup and our young guys are LH hitters. I'm also fine keeping Gray and offering him an extension. Maybe we'll shut everyone out in the playoffs. 🙂
  19. Coach Wheels
Trading Gray for immediate help in the form of a RH bat that is currently on a 25 man roster works for me, especially if he has told management that Minn is not where he wants to be for the next 3 years. This team can pitch, Pagan looks better out of the pen lately, I am leery on Maeda every 5th day, but, for a legit bat, Gray could be moved. This team needs so much help in the middle of the order, i agree, they are going no where in the playoffs. Buxton, Kepler, and Gallo don't inspire me at all.
  20. Coach Wheels
I agree. Varland plus a couple more; Woods-Richardson would be an easy pick but his ERA is over 7 at St. Paul right now. The Twins need bats but mortgaging the future isn't their DNA and as good as Steele has been in Cincy, you know Mgmt is hesitant to make a big splash
  21. Coach Wheels
I think the Cards will want more than Miranda and Larnach to make this happen. Teams trade for young arms, not bats hitting .206 and .215
  22. Coach Wheels
There is no way the Twins are trading their prospects for Arenado. This goes against everything the organization does; taking huge contracts is not their MO
  23. Coach Wheels
Well, if they trade Gray, they'd be ba k to a 5 man rotation with Kuechal as the 5th. I'm honestly not interested in Kuechal being part of this group. Find offense or settle for who we are.
  24. Coach Wheels
The idea of discussing a 6th person in our rotation, which then allow for fewer starts from Gray, Lopez, Ober, and Ryan, when we need offense blows my mind. We have no issues with our rotation, find offense!!!
  25. Coach Wheels
Not super interested in RH arms but a LH bullpen guy would be a logical acquisition. A RH bat luke Turner also makes sense, he can play 1st base, we have plenty of OF without Gallo or Kepler. This team clearly needs offensive help, Ober last night gave up 1 run in 6 and couldn't get a "W" because our every day guys are unable to score 2 runs. Find offense
