    Good read. In order to split Falvey's role, ownership would have to hire and spend more money. They dont want to spend money on players so what makes us think they'll spend money in management? This is a sad product right now and the next manager needs to be experienced and a proven commodity or we're just spinning our wheels.

    Is there 1 pitcher in the bullpen today that you'd expect to be on the roster Opening Day of 2026? I can't see one worth keeping. Sands has been awful the last 6 weeks.

    This year there was a bad vibe to start the year and, other than a 13 game winner streak, nothing about 2025 was special. The fire sale on trade deadline day sealed the deal for me in realizing that the Pohlad family has quit. You gave up players with multiple years of time and I have yet to see any of the return show me, we got better for 2026. I believe Bradley will be good for us but Roden, Outman, etc......no thanks. The Twins had the lowest attendance numbers since 2000 and that message should be understood loud and clear by ownership; sell or make the product competitive. It's in the hands of the Pohlad family now.

    I'd hate to trade him as well, definitely not my preference. I also believe is our best OF and will be for 2026 as well as 2027. Moving him LF is another sign of not being interested in winning. If you aren't interested in winning, get him to another franchise where he'd have a chance to win and pick up more young assets.

    I don't see this making the team better in 2026 because there is no way Jenkins or Rodriguez are ready to play 140-150 games in the majors. If you think he's done in CF, trade him and get more young talent. They aren't trying to win so keeping him and playing him with a bunch of kids who aren't ready to win makes less.sense than trading him in my opinion.

    As long as both are "filling in" I'm ok with that. Clemens has played too many games this year to be taken seriously on a team trying to win. In this franchise, he might play every day

    Absolutely!! We solidified a roster spot on a team that will most likely win less than 75 games in 2026.. Not the roster I'd like to see being built but this is who they are now.

    Agree with this post. Saturday should have been Joe's last stsrt and Pablo should pitch once more and also be shut down. Whether you keep them.or trade them, not pitching is this awful month is best practice. I'd also give Buxton the option of shutting it down. This is, in my opinion, his best year as a Twin and he doesn't need to risk injury in a month where 6 wins is being optimistic.

    He's hitting .215 with 19 HR and 32 RBI. That's a ridiculous ratio of HR to RBI. He has to do more offensively

    It is amazing how quickly this ownership and front office bailed on a potentially very good baseball team. From 23 to 25.........wow. Heads should roll but ownership doesn't care

    It would be hard to imagine Varland not being who the Jays were pursuing on trade day, he has 3 years of team control left. I believe the Twins would have DFA'd France if the Jays hadn't taken him as a throw in.

    Royce will get more opportunities, he's safe for 2016. SWR really doesnt have a role unless he starts; don't see him as a reliever in the manner Twins use their bullpen. Roden for Varland was a horrible and lazy trade. However, the Twins do need an upgrade at 1st base and maybe Wallner or Larnach are the LH platoon answer there to open an OF spot.

    Agree to disagree. I will add that moving Wallner or Larnach to 1st base could be part of the mix. That would allow you to add better OF talent

    The phrase, "desperately need position players" is interesting to me. I see an infield in 2016 of Lewis, Lee, Keaschall, and a platoon at 1st base. I see an OF of Buxton, Wallner, and Larnach. I don't hate that lineup in 26, depth off the bench concerns me quite a bit (use late in last night's game as a reference). There are guys in this lineup that need to be better, and obvious statement, but its worth a shot. The bullpen has to be remade but the rotation next year of Lopez, Ryan, Abel, Ober, and Bradley can potentially win the AL Central, certainly compete for a wildcard. Get back a bullpen and in the Central, you're never out of it

    In my opinion, Buxton is currently saying all the right things and that's what a professional should do. If he comes back this summer and continues to play at a high level with a bad team, let's see what happ3ns this winter. He'll be 31, would love one more big contract, and he probably won't get that in Minnesota regardless of who owns this team. I say its 50/50 hes a Twin next spring.

    The Varland and Jax trade makes me think what happened on Thursday was a culture reset as much as a talent reset. Varland and Jax both talked openly about being in the rotation not the bullpen, maybe the chemistry of this group wasn't good and they cleaned out the attitudes? Duran was going to bring the most back, easy trade. Castro, Bader were UFA's, easy trades,. Throwing France in the Varland deal, makes sense. When I listened to Buxton interview Saturday, he talked about the visit with Morneau and culture came up in that conversation. I think the vibe of this bunch was a priority in the over haul.

    I think this question gets to part of the problem; the culture of this team wasn't healthy. There must have been issues in the clubhouse that made this an uncomfortable place to play. I would never blame the guys who got moved but we know Jax and Varland didn't want to be bullpen guys and, apparently, Correa was no longer interested in playing SS either. Interesting article

    Great take and I 100% agree. There is zero reason to believe dumping our entire bullpen for Ostman and Bradley (guessing they come to the big squad) and bunch of top5-15 prospects will work with this management and coaching staff. Lewis, Lee, Larnach, Wallner, Julien, and Miranda were all rated highly in our system and have either failed or shown us very little to say they're long term assets. I'm optimistic on Lee and, maybe Lewis but the rest are on their last chance with the big club before we make decisions. This core is soft and I do not believe we have coaches in place to challenge them and push them
