  1. I consider the bullpen to still be a mess. Rogers was an average closer when he was here before and now he's 5 years older and less efficient. I completely agree with moving a current starter, Festa or Mathews come to mind but I'm open to anything. 1 month before pitchers/catchers report, lots of work has to still be done.
  2. Fabulous and well deserved honor for Mr. Bremer. He was the voice of the Twins for all those years and he truly lived and died with them every year. Dick and Burt were the best and made watching bad Twins teams and good Twins teams easy to watch. Congrats to a real fan of the Twins.
  3. If the offers for Jeffers now are fair and make the Twins better for Opening Day, move him now. If not, sometime before July 1st, he'll get moved because I don't believe they intend to bring him back in 2027.
  4. Clemens is a career .206 hitter who hit .213 fir the Twins with almost 350 official AB's. He has a career WAR of 1.1 and had a WAR of 1.0 in 2025. While I'm too old to do a deep dive on the analytics of current baseball nerds, I am very comfortable stating that Clemens wasn't as unlucky as he was who he's been for every team he played for prior to Minnesota. He had twice as many AB's this year and hit more HR, that's the bright side for a team that has lacked power for a few years.
  5. This roster isn't close to 80 wins let alone an A.L. Central title. Royals, Indians, and Tigers are all 6-10 games better now and none of them have made a big move yet. Bell may be the Twins "big move" for 2026.
  6. I'm hopeful that Abel earns a top 5 rotation spot. SWR doesn't move the needle for me as a starting pitcher.
  7. I'm not sure the Twins want to trade more.pitching for a corner infielder right now. 2hen you dump as many pitchers as we did in July, I'd like to get the new guys out there and see who they are.
  8. Definitely taking analytics to a new level in this article, agree. For my 2 cents, Twins need power somewhere in the lineup and Bell fills that void. A 1st baseman with 25 HR potential for $7 million makes sense; at 33 years of age, he has a chance to help this team. He's not Santana defensively but I don't have an issue with Bell as our 1st baseman.
  9. Playing in the AL Central makes for the theme of a modest budget being competitive. The Tigers shopping Skubal is an example of everyone in the Central lives modestly with payroll. However, there's "modest" and then there are the Twins; $110 million will not make this team better than Detroit, Cleveland, or KC and the White Sox might be closing in. Let's see season ticket sales tank and attendance go to about 1 million this summer and maybe then, a buyer will emerge and change can happen. I have no expectations for the Pohlads or Falvey making this better.
  10. Boom!!! Everyone should be on the table for trades and if the whole thing is blown up and they win 60 games this year, so be it. Personally. I have zero faith in Falvey to get this right but this is our world now so let's see what where it goes.
  11. There are way more questions than answers for Twins leadership. I can see them watching this week and getting leftovers after Jan 1
  12. There is zero reason for the organization to pretend they are trying to compete as they reduce salary again in 2026. Byron has been a great Twin and an ambassador for the organization his entire time here. He deserves the opportunity to play for an organization that wants to win and he can bring young mlb ready talent to the Twins. The right move is to move him.
  13. This story is just dumb, and cheap, enough to happen. Sad for the fans, attendance next year should be around 900,000 and maybe this team gets sold.
  14. I would support checking out the switch hitting catcher from Texas, Jonah Heim. Shelton might save him.
  15. I never knew baseball had so many coaches and especially with such specific designations.
  16. I'd like to believe that Ryan and Buxton will continue to get better. For Buxton, I define "better" by continuing to be healthy and play 150 games. I see no reason for Ryan to regress. Young player with an above average fastball who can continue to learn how to pitch and hopefully keep his pitch count down to 18-21 outs more consistently. SWR and Clemens are who they are. Im not counting on either to win big games next summer.
  17. Buxton brings the most value and for a rebuild and an appreciation of what Buxton has meant to the organization, he should be traded to a team that can win. Larnach, Wallner, Martin, Roden, and Outman will bring back very little, but this team isn't interested in winning so....why hustle with trading guys with years left?
  18. You can fix my math for me. Pick 8 for the bullpen, I'll stand with my rotation
  19. If all these guys are still on the roster come.Opening Day, the rotation, in my head, looks like this: Ryan, Lopez, Abel, Ober, and Bradley Bullpen guys would be SWR, Festa, Mathews, and whoever Falvey decides to pick off the scrap. Guessing Topa is still one of us but you'll need a bullpen of 9 guys I'd imagine
  20. Agree. We lots of average defensive OF who are already cheap. Move Wallner to 1st and go get an OF that, while still cheap, could be more athletic. Stealing bases and preventing runs could be another to make this hot mess into a better team.
  21. In 2024, the most stolen bases occurred since 1915. The new rules have brought stealing a base back into the game. There's no Ricky Henderson, Lou Brock, or Vince Coleman out there but it can be part of the game again
  22. Just spent the past hour on YouTube watching 87 and 91 game 6 and 7 highlights and tearing up a little. I had a family member text me last saying the game last night was the best baseball he's ever seen. This morning I shared those Twin highlight videos with family with a "hold my beer" moment for Puckett, Hrbek, Morris, etc. 2 great teams/memories from my past.
