    If this is the desparation we're sinking to at 1st base, just platoon Miranda and Julien. Rehashing guys from the past and "hoping" it works creates zero interest for me.🥱

    I am completely open to Laureano being a part of the OF for 2025. 30 years old, lots of experience in the majors, and he can hit for some power. I'd be open to seeing him as a Twin.

    "Castellano is an intriguing right-handed pitcher on the verge of MLB readiness, and Minnesota is hoping it stumbled upon a steal." This comment should be framed and hang on Falvey's wall at Target Field. The guy has spent his career trying to find nobody's who turn into diamonds. Whatever happens thos off-season will most likely not bring me.back to Target Field this summer. Until we get a new ownership group committed to serious baseball and trying to be great, we'll continue lose quality players and gamble on less than guaranteed players.

    When you have a commissioner more interested finding gimmicks to "enhance" the game than thinking about bringing the elements of the game that made it great; pitching, stealing bases, hitting the ball the other way, etc., the game is doomed. For small market teams, the game is about dead now. Gimmicks as dumb as this aren't helping.

    Since I am absolutely not an analytics person, my generation still prefers the "eye test" to measure talent and whether or not a player can play. The 2024 Twins pitching staff lacked talent. Once Ryan went down, the hole in the rotation was glaring, in my eyes. 😀 The bullpen, up to Jax and Duran, was less than perfect and I would hesitate to ever take Jax out of the bullpen and make him a starter; my eyes tell me he has stuff that can finish games or be the set up guy for many years. My eyes also tell me Duran needs to become a 2 pitch closer and eliminate the curveball from his repertoire. Fastball and hard sinker are wipe out pitches and the velocity he throws both of them with gets LH and RH hitters out. Bottom line, talent makes pitching data better; go get or build more talent and all the data will fix itself.

    Keep: Correa, Buxton, Larnach, Lewis, Castro, Wallner, Lee, Miranda (?), Ryan, Lopez, Ober, Varland (bullpen), Jax (bullpen), Duran (bullpen), Alcala ( bullpen), Everyone should be available for trade and regroup. What we found out for most of this year is the depth of young talent we thought we had was either badly overrated or had horrible years. Either way, half this roster needs to be retooled.

    Kirby hit that mark in game 104!!! That's why we won 2 World Series and was an MVP.

    I don't know if 4-2 will be enough. Royals get Nats and Braves, Tigers get Rays and White Sox, we're a game back of both and I don't see either of those 2 going 3-3. I think we're iIna spot where 5-1 might the only way we control our destiny. 4-2, with the tiebreaker, maybe that works.

    100% agree. These 2 leaders of the front office have historically shopped for players like my wife at Sam's Club. Always signing guys coming off injuries and no one else wants. It's crazy

    I'm not sure of the point of the essay. Guys have always gotten hurt; I remember being frustrated by Hrbek missing games every year. He was blamed for not being in shape, now we blame them for being too good of shape? I would love to see this team have their best players play 140 games together. I think they're talented enough to win this division by 8-10 games

    October? There's a great chance after this week, Detroit has passed Minnesota and we're out. 3 bs Cleveland and 3 vs Boston.....easily the potential for a 2-5 week

    Kepler being hurt is par for the Twins; we can't count on guys staying healthy, the last 3 years have been tough. It would nice to see our best 8 guys in the lineup for 135-140 games in a year; I think we'd be pretty damn good. For Kepler, it's his last year as a Twin, guessing we'll need him in October bit we honestly can't count on anyone to be healthy right now.

    Completely agree. In 23 Varland was dominant from the bullpen and could easily be a 7th or 8th inning guy right now. Why we continue to think he's a starter is odd.

    Yeah, that's a fair point but I also don't know where all of them play next year either. Larna h gets RF, Wallner gets LF, and Buxton plays CF. Maybe Martin is your 4th OF or they find a guy cheap (the Twins love cheap OF). Lee is your 2nd baseman for the next 8-12 years, not sure how Julien fits

    Maybe although I think I seem as our 1st baseman with Lewis, Correa, and Lee creating a kick-ass group

    Tradeable assets for the winter: Kiriloff, Julien, and Martin. Any or all 3 could be moved although I believe Kiriloff and Julien probably bring you back better prospects. If you trade the 1st 2 on my list, Martin probably stays as your defensive flex guy

    I'm giving Alcala a pass for Sunday because I believe he has done a great job this with the 7th inning and given Jax and Duran the ability to fill their roles in this bullpen. "Stuff" happens and the lineup he faced in the 7th yesterday is as good he'll see this year. We got 3 of 4, let's go get 2 of 3 from S.D. and keep the pressure on Cleveland.

    Ryan injury is certainly concerning but the fact Buxton sat all 3 games and Correa wasn't available is disappointing also. I'm assuming Correa comes off the IL Friday, maybe Farmer gets DFA'd to keep the healthy guys on the roster. When you choose to sit on your hands at the deadline and guys get dinged up in August and Sept, this is how you live; on the edge of a mess.

    I'll give any RH arm a chance if it means the Dobnak experience is over.

    They're going to sit on their hands and do nothing. If I have to spend extra to bring them back on my TV and they don't make a deal and try to win, I will not make the upgrade. I'm tired of greedy ownership lining their pockets and not putting the fans perspective on their agenda

    I'm more interested in tje bullpen than starting pitching. Theilbar and Okert make me uncomfortable. LH pitching from the bullpen could use an upgrade, in my opinion.

    Blackmon is their best player, he can play CF or RF with ease, and he can hit. Trade Buxton for Blackmon and I'm interested.

    Margot goes because Twins eat less money DFAing him instead of Farmer. When Lee.is ready to come up in August, Farmer can go.

    If the Twins goal is protect their best arms and develop them, we're losing on the 2nd half of this goal. Paddock, Lopez, and Ryan all came from other teams. When 60-80% of your rotation is developed in your firm system, bringing in broken pitchers seems lazy. D-Scal wasn't the pri,e in the Polanco deal but after Varland effort yesterday, questions remain in our rotation.
