This game is exactly the kind of game Pagan should be pitching, not the 9th inning. He should only pitch if the other team's pitcher is a position player.

Great article Melissa. It has been 10 years now following the Twins every game through the internet, living more than 5,500 miles away. I was able to watch a game in Target Field in 2013 against the CWS on a summer day. It was wonderful and something that sticks to the memory. In 2017 I was also able to watch a game in Yankee Stadium (another great experience). Both times the Twins lost and, although I wasn't treated to good Twins baseball both times, I would be back everyday if I could. GO TWINS!

I'm really frustrated about this FO. We needed BP guys and they DIDN'T EVEN TRY to get Astudillo. Can't be serious about contending. This FO is a joke.

Twins prospects that I was wrong on

I remember once upon a time there was a Fernando Romero & Stephen Gonsalves duo as next wave of Twins SP of the future. Prospects are really hard to predict. (Although Byung-ho Park was not a prospect, I remember there was a lot of hype going on with the Korean slugger too) -
Oh yeah, they will win. What I'm really worried is about them wining a playoff game.

Letting Astudillo pitch the 8th would be safer than expecting Pagan to get the job done.

This Pagan guy can't be trusted more than Duffey can. They both led us easily to at least 5 or 6 losses this season and this can be the difference between winning the division or being left off the playoffs this year (even with the expanded playoffs, the AL Central is on pace to have only one team represented in the postseason - the bottom seeded division winner). This FO have to make a decision: compete this year and trade for a real bullpen (this current bullpen is a joke) OR stop pretending, assume this is a preparation for 2023 and stop throwing garbage arms and start to develop guys for the years to come. If I had 3 meltdowns in the same week at my job, I'd probably be without it right now...

Looks like Rocco is trying to get himself in the same path Joe Maddon. Poor choices on the bullpen usage in a winnable game. I have never been a Rocco hater, but he's trying to prove me wrong every night. Sad, just sad...
