I know Lopez has had his issues, and I sympathize with that and wish him the best, but he's been just as bad, if not worse, since he came back than he was before. At what point does the team just make him step away, and focus on his health?
No. He's doing ok in low leverage situations, but as soon as Rocco throws him into a tough spot...he'll show what he really is. He's proven it too many times.
Like all of us who are old enough to remember that day...I was glued to the old 19" black and white tv watching the events unfold on the moon. Amazing stuff! Buxton...not so much.
I'd love to have Walker, but there's no chance the Cards trade him. O'Neill, Donovan, and Carlson are interesting possibilities. The Cards have won 5 in a row and might be on the verge of turning it around. It remains to be seen how much dealing Mozy is willing to do. They still could conceivably have a chance to make a run in the NL central. It bears very close watching for sure.
If they send Julien down when Polanco is activated, there should be a fan base revolt outside Target Field. Yeah, he's not a gold glover by any stretch, but he can swing a very good stick. He has to stay in the lineup somehow.
They obviously haven't done anything with/to him so far, and I don't think they will at this point. He's going to keep hitting 3rd or 4th, and he'll stay in the lineup. At least until he injures himself even more than he apparently already is. Never thought I'd want Sano back, but it's a wash right now. Buxton is really hurting this team.
