  1. Think the Halos would be interested in Gallo and Kep?
  2. If the Twins let Popkins go in the middle of the season, or before the end of the season...I'd be absolutely shocked. I just can't see it happening. If that were to somehow happen, what's the point of bring in Lawson? I don't think that anything would change over the course of the rest of this season. It's not like turning a light switch, and all of a sudden we'll take better AB's and not strike out every time up. This is the way it's going to be for the rest of this season. After that...who knows?
  3. Kind of a questionable thing to say on his part, but I'd be willing to bet he's pitching somewhere next season. Probably not here, but somewhere.
  4. For me...Gallo and Kepler are 1A and 1B. They both need to go. The Gallo signing was a mistake...a risk that didn't work out. Kepler didn't develop the way that everyone hoped he would. It's time for him to move on and see if one of the young guys like Wallner can hold down RF. If there's any team that would be interested in either of them, please work out a deal. It almost doesn't even matter what the return is. If not, then DFA them. We easily can do just as well as we are, without them.
  5. I'd be all in on that one, but the Cards need pitching, not position players.
  6. If he's lights out with StP, and so far he's been very good...then why not see if you can trade him? Maybe someone would be interested in getting him? Trade him for a decent RP, or even a bat? I'd explore that, before I'd stick him in our rota. Unless we have an injury to one of our starters, we don't need him.
  7. It's a bit too early to give up on Miranda. Give him a little more time, and he could turn it around. The whole damn team isn't hitting, so it's not like he's all by himself. I don't think his bat is as big an issue as his glove is.
  8. A decent bat would be very nice, but Turner doesn't excite me at all, and no way do I want Pham here. I really don't know who they should go after on that front. For RP's, Harvey and Leiter are interesting possibilities.
  9. Looks like the same old story...great pitching, and zero hitting. That lineup definitely left a lot to be desired. Not exactly a murderer's row, by any means. Wasted a great start by Ober...again. Somehow, they have to figure out how to score more than 1 or 2 runs consistantly,..and do it against teams other than KC. Duran is also a concern lately...he's struggling a bit.
  10. So far, so good...but Rocco sure doesn't/didn't have anything to do with it.
  11. Nice win, but Pagan REALLY needs to hit the bricks! Anyone would be better than he is.
  12. If what Baldelli's doing is considered "leadership" these days, then the team is in big trouble...and they are!
  13. The only reason that we're in...or near, first place in this division, is because there are actually two WORSE teams than us...and Detroit isn't much worse and kicked our butt when they were here. Somehow, we took the series in their park. If it wasn't for KC, we'd already be out of 1st. The amazing thing in all this...which has been said multiple times in this thread...is that no one has lost their job. Not even a token move to can Popkins, much less anyone else. There HAS to be some changes made. That goes for players too.
  14. Last night was another perfect example why Pagan needs to go. Sure, we would have ended up losing 2-1 anyway, because we can't hit worth a damn, but him giving up yet another homer just buried us. Please DFA Pagan now! Let him be some other teams reclamation project.
  15. Keuchel and his 88 mph express don't exactly inspire confidence. We sure don't need another Smeltzer. I hope he doesn't get the call.
  16. What a shocker...no team put a claim in for Garlick. He didn't want to go the FA route, so he's back to StP.
  17. I agree 100% with you on Gallo. Complete waste of money. He's a notch above Sano because he walks...that's it. He's not even hitting many over the fence either. I'm pretty much ok with the CC signing, even though he's not doing much so far this season. Rocco-Ball isn't working and imo, he's clueless. He has no idea what he's doing. This team is fundamentally flawed in a lot of areas...that's manager and coaches. The FO's plan for this team, is a complete disaster. I've said this before...nothing but strike out prone non contact hitters. It's time to clean house on this mess.
  18. It's time for ownership to have some cajones, and make some changes. Whatever it is, that we actually we have here...isn't even close to working.
  19. As is often said...change starts at the top. Obviously, the Pohlad's aren't going anywhere, but the people they hired to run this organization have failed. It's time for Falvey and Levine to take their act elsewhere, and the manager that they hand picked, has to go along with them. The roster is an underperforming mess, full of strike out prone non contact hitters. It's not going to get better. We don't have the slightest clue how to play good solid fundamental baseball, and we never will with this manager and coaching staff. Low minors rookie ball teams play better baseball. Each and every game is a showcase for how to make as many mistakes as possible. If by some miracle, we win this division...which is still doable...we'll get killed by whatever team we face in the playoffs. It's time to blow this thing up as much as we can, and take a different direction. Whomever in the Pohlad family is actually calling the shots, has to realize what's going on with this team, and act accordingly.
  20. The part about Kep going 0-4 and stranding 3 guys, is probably spot on. Unfortunately...that's not particularly humorous.
  21. I don't necessarily have a problem with Rocco taking Gray out last night. Gray clearly didn't have it and was fighting his command all game. I maybe would have let him go out for the next inning and see what happens, then pull him if he's still struggling. Rocco never seems to ever do that. My big problem with last nights game was Lopez. I'd venture to say that he's much worse than Pagan at this point. Anyone else notice how he ran straight to the dugout and down the tunnel, after catching that pop up? Like a bat outta hell! I thought that was very strange.
  22. I really don't need to know his 5 biggest meltdowns. What I want to know is, if the last one against the Jays...is his last one in a Twins uni.
