  1. It's time to pound one of these slop throwing lefties for a change, instead of them completely baffling us with 89 mph FB's and assorted slower junk than that.
  2. Yeah, I can't really see the Sox leaving Chicago, or the Brewers leaving Milwaukee. Something has to get resolved down in TB. Maybe they move to Nashville?
  3. It's more than obvious at this point...he's going to get hurt. He's ALWAYS going to get hurt. It doesn't matter if he's the DH or in CF...he's going to get hurt. It's who he is and who he's always going to be. If its going to be better for the team, then put him out in CF to give us some DH flexibility. Let him have a few rehab games in StP in the field, and then bring him up. When he gets hurt again, they can figure out what to do at that time. MAT has sure filled in admirably out there this season.
  4. I don't care if it's because he's eating Fruit Loops for breakfast instead of Lucky Charms...just keep it up. He was nearly an automatic out in the first half of this season, and except for the juiced ball year, he hasn't really done much at the plate. He's always been very solid defensively. If this turns out to be his last season here, let it be a good one.
  5. Ok...now we'll probably get to see what this team is made of. Can we hang on? Will we still be in 1st place after this stretch of games? Or will Cleve cut into the lead? Or could Det even make a move up? We're gonna find out. We have 2 games with Mil next, then 13 games (home and away) against Tex and Cleve coming up, then 3 with the Mets and 3 with TB here. That's a pretty tough run of 21 games coming up. We've got a 6 game lead now...where will we be at the end of this?
  6. Winner, winner...Italian sausage on the grill for dinner. Everyone out there have a good evening!
  7. The amount of strikeouts this team accumulates on a game to game basis is just obscene. It's unacceptable. 15 last night and 16 so far today, and that's pretty much the norm. Put the damn ball in play somewhere!
  8. We didn't lose last night because of Gray, we lost because we can't get a clutch hit with men on base. Gray was pretty much fine, until he got gassed. We just can't hit in key situations. Bases loaded? Fuhgeddaboudit! Nothing but bad, wasted AB's from several guys. Swinging at bad pitches, way outside the zone. Strike out after strike out! I don't hold out much hope for today either, with Kuechel going. We could lose the series easily.
  9. Time to get it back...here we go.
  10. A good throw by Polanco gets the guy at 1st. Then a bloop, and a walk...and now Gray is in big trouble.
  11. Can we please get Sonny another run or two?
  12. It would be great if we take this one tonight to win the series, because I don't have a lot of faith in Keuchel tomorrow.
  13. Nice win. Lopez was in trouble just about every inning, but came out of it ok. It sure would SUCK if Wallner goes down. Hopefully, it's just a bruise and he only misses a game or two. I'm not too worried about Gray tonight, but Keuchel tomorrow could be a problem. If he gets shelled again, I wouldn't give him another start.
  14. The thing about Martin's "character"...is that he WAS a character! I wasn't in Mn when he was with the Twins, but I lived in the NY/NJ area the whole time he and Steinbrenner did their dance with the Yankees. What a nut-house! It was the craziest thing imaginable. Every day was a different circus ring. The Bronx Zoo it was!
  15. Ok, a couple runs are nice. Let's get some more.
  16. Pablo's gonna have to be as good as his last couple starts, because it sure looks like the boys aren't getting him any runs.
  17. Hope this isn't too far off topic...Ryan is making a rehab start tonight for the Saints.
  18. Yep...you're 100% right. There's no effing way that's gonna happen.
  19. Well...that didn't go smoothly. Jax is definitely the new/old Pagan. OUCH!
  20. That's a little more like it! Time to put a big old fashioned thumping on those kittys!
  21. I don't know why we have so much trouble with the Tigers, but we sure do. We make all their starting pitchers seem like ace material. Last night was looking like another clunker until Wallner rescued us. Another one of their "aces" going today...Olson, and he made us look like total chumps last time. We have to FINALLY clobber these guys. We need another great start from Maeda today, and the bats have to deliver.
  22. Wow...Miggy sure smoked that one.
  23. Now...if we could only get AK back and healthy. The Tigers kicked our a** the last two series...how bout we get some pay back the next 2 games!
