  1. If what Baldelli's doing is considered "leadership" these days, then the team is in big trouble...and they are!
  2. The sleeping bats killed us again.
  3. OH NO! This sure didn't go the right way.
  4. I know I'm in the minority, but I don't like using Duran here. I don't care if it's the top of the lineup or not. I'd save him for the 9th.
  5. Too many of these nail biter games. We need to somehow figure out a way to score more runs. It doesn't look like the player only hoe-down really solved anything.
  6. Is Duran going to be able to do the bottom of the 9th again? Because it appears we might have another 1-0 game. PLEASE don't let Pagan anywhere near a baseball.
  7. Great! We leave the bases loaded again and get zilch. Not a good omen.
  8. It's Cory and Dazzle for me today. There be no Peacocks in my abode.
  9. Very surprised by this, but I suppose it's good to have no change thru this season. We'll figure out next season later on.
  10. Ober is really pitching a nice game, but we're back to the silent bat treatment. We need to get a few more runs for him.
  11. They just were showing Rocco talking to the ump after the interference call...does he have a piercing under his lower lip? Kind of looked like it. Or do I need different glasses?
  12. Let's see if last nights game was a sign of things to come...or if we revert back to nothing-burgers.
  13. Wouldn't mind Goldy here, but not for that package.
  14. At least 6 inches outside. My God!
  15. Well...did we flip the roster yet? Bring up the kids? Fire Rocco? Let Falvey and Levine go? That's what I thought. The rain is just about done in Balt, so we should get things under way relatively soon.
  16. I voted for "warming up"...even though it should be much hotter than that. I really don't expect anything to happen...it's just not the way this ownership does things. I'd bet Rocco is here, along with his entire coaching staff, until the end of the season. After that...who knows? No way that that Falvey and Levine are let go either. If by some incredible twist Rocco is let go, they'd put Tingler in as interim...which probably accomplishes nothing.
  17. I agree 100%. They're probably not going to do much, if anything. What I got out of his comments, is exactly what you did. He's thinking they need to do some internal stuff...preparation etc. That's it. I'd bet they have the same guys in the dugout tomorrow, as they did yesterday.
  18. I agree with your assessment that the real core problem lies with the FO and the roster they put together. However, I do think that a good/better manager would get a lot more out of this "bad" roster, than Rocco does. True, he's not swinging the bats, or making bonehead lack of fundamentals plays out in the field, or giving up important runs like some of our pen pitchers do...or you name it, but his decisions on who plays and who sits, his in game decision making and adjustments, or the constant lineup jockeying, or which RP he brings in...and the general lack of any urgency and intensity...is all on him. Obviously, the team can't fire everybody and dump all the players, but something sure has to be done. Has the FO made some good moves since they've been in charge? Sure they have, but they whiffed on probably the most important one...Baldelli.
  19. The only reason that we're in...or near, first place in this division, is because there are actually two WORSE teams than us...and Detroit isn't much worse and kicked our butt when they were here. Somehow, we took the series in their park. If it wasn't for KC, we'd already be out of 1st. The amazing thing in all this...which has been said multiple times in this thread...is that no one has lost their job. Not even a token move to can Popkins, much less anyone else. There HAS to be some changes made. That goes for players too.
  20. Interesting read: https://sports.yahoo.com/twins-manager-baldelli-closes-clubhouse-210133297.html?src=rss
  21. It's painfully obvious to even the casual Twins fan, that changes need to be made. Now...when, and what happens, is anyone's guess, but this team is broken. It just isn't working. It isn't just one or two guys...it's just about all of them. There's plenty of blame to go around...the players aren't performing, the manager and coaching staff could be the reason, and the moves this FO has made haven't worked out for the most part. I think there's an organizational and philosophical failure from ownership on down. It's complete apathy. If our pitching staff wasn't holding up, we'd be a complete dumpster fire...and we're not too far away from that now. Shuttling guys back and forth to StP isn't the answer, but we need to get a few of those kids up here and plug them in and see what they've got. They won't be any worse than what we've been trotting out there. The product on the field right now, isn't producing and isn't watchable. It's embarrassing. I'm sure the players and management know that...what they do about it remains to be seen.
