  1. I agree 100%. They're probably not going to do much, if anything. What I got out of his comments, is exactly what you did. He's thinking they need to do some internal stuff...preparation etc. That's it. I'd bet they have the same guys in the dugout tomorrow, as they did yesterday.
  2. I agree with your assessment that the real core problem lies with the FO and the roster they put together. However, I do think that a good/better manager would get a lot more out of this "bad" roster, than Rocco does. True, he's not swinging the bats, or making bonehead lack of fundamentals plays out in the field, or giving up important runs like some of our pen pitchers do...or you name it, but his decisions on who plays and who sits, his in game decision making and adjustments, or the constant lineup jockeying, or which RP he brings in...and the general lack of any urgency and intensity...is all on him. Obviously, the team can't fire everybody and dump all the players, but something sure has to be done. Has the FO made some good moves since they've been in charge? Sure they have, but they whiffed on probably the most important one...Baldelli.
  3. The only reason that we're in...or near, first place in this division, is because there are actually two WORSE teams than us...and Detroit isn't much worse and kicked our butt when they were here. Somehow, we took the series in their park. If it wasn't for KC, we'd already be out of 1st. The amazing thing in all this...which has been said multiple times in this thread...is that no one has lost their job. Not even a token move to can Popkins, much less anyone else. There HAS to be some changes made. That goes for players too.

  5. It's painfully obvious to even the casual Twins fan, that changes need to be made. Now...when, and what happens, is anyone's guess, but this team is broken. It just isn't working. It isn't just one or two guys...it's just about all of them. There's plenty of blame to go around...the players aren't performing, the manager and coaching staff could be the reason, and the moves this FO has made haven't worked out for the most part. I think there's an organizational and philosophical failure from ownership on down. It's complete apathy. If our pitching staff wasn't holding up, we'd be a complete dumpster fire...and we're not too far away from that now. Shuttling guys back and forth to StP isn't the answer, but we need to get a few of those kids up here and plug them in and see what they've got. They won't be any worse than what we've been trotting out there. The product on the field right now, isn't producing and isn't watchable. It's embarrassing. I'm sure the players and management know that...what they do about it remains to be seen.
  6. I was here for both WS Championships. That was a LONG time ago. I don't think I'm going to be around for another one, but who knows? The way things are trending now, I have my doubts.
  7. People here in Mn think the small "round-a-bouts" we have here are dangerous. I laugh at them and tell them about the Freehold Circle. They can't believe there was actually something like that! Glad your sis was ok...she was lucky. A lot of people weren't. It's good to have another NJ guy here. I've been in Mn for over 40 years, but I was born in NJ and grew up there...as a die hard Mets fan! All Twins now.
  8. I've got you by a few years. I know Freehold pretty well too. We had a place near the shore in Bricktown. We'd drive thru Freehold all the time on good old Rte 9. Do you remember the Freehold Circle? I believe it's long gone now. A real death trap! Used to go to bet the trotters at Freehold Raceway too.
  9. Hey TF in NJ...where are you in NJ? I was born there and lived there until 1982. I lived in several places in NJ, but primarily in Montclair and Hackettstown.
  10. Yep...Tito would sure be nice. Snitker is also a great manager. There are some real good ones out there. Younger isn't necessarily better. We need an "old school" type baseball manager, that has common sense, intelligence, can use analytics but doesn't let them make every damn decision, knows fundamentals and how important they are in baseball, knows what to do in game situations and can adapt quickly and easily, and knows how to handle a pitching staff. I'm asking for too much and I'm probably leaving out several things, but you get my drift. I'd even kill to have Gardy back.
  11. Abysmal and embarrassing.
  12. We're making this Allard guy look like an all star. Just like we do with all of these marginal pitchers. 6K's already.
  13. This bugs me more than a lot of Rocco's other "quirks". I can't stand the daily, game to game, constant lineup changing.
  14. I try to watch just about every Twins game, and listen on radio when I can't watch. Not necessarily from start to finish, but as much as I can. Yep, even when they're getting waxed. The west coast games are tough to stay up for. The only games I can't watch are the Apple ones. I'd say I'm pretty invested and I'd sure love to see another WS before my time is up, but that's getting to be extremely questionable.
  15. If CC could crush one, we'd be right back in this game.
  16. That can get kinda spendy. I just throw a foam brick at the tv. Saves money that way.
  17. I think the "My Guy" from Luther is warming up in our pen.
  18. Pretty damn depressing when the game is over by the 2nd inning...and everyone knows it.
  19. Ryan just said "WOW". Yeah...wow is right.
  20. Rosario hasn't changed. He can hit, but he's a terrible defensive outfielder. He makes mistakes every game.
  21. Olson also has 25 homers and 60 RBI so far.
  22. They're just sitting on Ryan's FB...he needs to mix it up with some off speed stuff, or throw some inside and back them off.
  23. Losing Stewart for any amount of time, is going to be a real killer for this team. He was pitching great. It probably means more of Pagan too. That's like a double dagger.
  24. Last night was another perfect example why Pagan needs to go. Sure, we would have ended up losing 2-1 anyway, because we can't hit worth a damn, but him giving up yet another homer just buried us. Please DFA Pagan now! Let him be some other teams reclamation project.
