    So basically they dfa'd Moran and henrique , so they are on waivers and any team can claim them , resigning them to minor league deals might work in our favor ...

    They probably didn't think it was a position of need , When they do think it is a position of need , they over spend and get an injured player .... Deadline in 2023 with no activity and now the mentioned payroll reduction , says we were tapped out on payroll on acquiring players at 2023 deadline ... I kinda wish falvey would have accepted an interview with Boston , and then he could have been disappointed when he lost out for the position , them he maybe could finally know how the fans feel when they are disappointed ... Have you ever heard falvey say , I love this game , I love putting together a team to win it all ... I haven't , so it's just business for him ...

    I would think our FO is working on trading him before the deadline , if they can't swing one , they nontender him , whÿ would they tender him and then dfa him in spring training and then have tò eat the small contract , the fo said they need to cut payroll ... I'd like to give him another year but sometimes a better player is after your job ... We'll find out tomorrow if he's worth anything ...

    I like Polanco , I like Farmer, which one will be here come spring is everyone's guess ... Castro over the energetic Gordon , really both haven't proved who they really are but the defense and versatility by Castro is better than Gordon ... Kiriloff , Jeffers and theibar will definitely be on the roster come april if healthy ... Acala I'm sure will be tendered since he has options and we need drpth if hes pitching well in AAA ... Two players need to go , 1 could be non tendered ( Castro , Gordon ) or 1 of these two could be tendered but traded ( Farmer, Polanco ) ... Stay tuned for Friday's deadline ...

    Thanks for the final summary on the players at the AFL ... Twins players in the fall league didn't put up all that spectacular stats , but they got to play baseball ... game talk will rest till spring training ... The withdrawals are now just beginning ...

    I've also have said the same , and if it is his last chance I think it would be encouraging for him to go to driveline this winter and get someone to help him with the offspeed pitches and also identifying the pitches would help , This is definitely his last chance with the twins in 2024 and I would like to see him capitalize on it ... Remember he was leading the Twins in rbi's and has some pop in his bat that the front office likes ... he needs help and it's up to him ...

    Polanco has been a steady hitter during his career and has good value as a switch hitter ... All teams trading for Kepler , if they believe Kepler is a late bloomer then they get a bargain if Kepler proves them right ....

    This is true of Lewis but what about the other batters in the line up ,,, If the lineup had better discipline and hit with runners on base we could score 900 plus runs per season and be a team to be reckoned with ... If they don't make adjustments or change some philosophy of their game , the Twins lineup will not be respected by the other teams ... Other teams know how to make adjustments to our hitters , we seem alittle slow in making the adjustments back ...

    Roster rating seems high ... Starting pitching would rate high , the bullpen at the end of the season rates better than the beginning of the season ... The batting roster just doesn't have me believing it rates high , boom or bust , no disciplined clutch hitting with runners on base , to many strikeouts , baserunning has issues as well ... Twins defense is decent but again are flawed , failure to throw to the right base or completely missing cut off man ... I like my Twins but my eye test analysis above rates higher than the metrics ...

    Lots of options for severino ... Play him or trade him ... If he can hit doubles and homeruns and drive in over 100 rbi's with a decent batting average , that is a player we have been searching for some years now ... Let him start in AAA this spring and see if he is still hitting like 2023 and if he is , bring the kid up to the show .... We don't need players that think they are homerun hitters and don't make contact , we need homerun hitters that can be productive and be in the running for mvp at the conclusion of each year ...

    I'll just sit back and wait for the off season to commence ... Will I be happy if they trade the longest tenured Twins in Polanco , NO ... But it could happen , the FO is in control and I am not ... I just hope the FO gets it right ...

    Vazquez is a better defensive catcher ... So get off his back ... Hitting has always been a plus when you can get it from the catchers position ... I had no problems with Vazquez but I do hope he does improve his hitting in 2024 ...

    Good article and centerfield is a important position ... But who the heck knows what our front office will do to get creative ... I liked Taylor in centerfield , he made great plays and was fun to watch , Bader may be just as good defensively but a platoon guy is not what we need ... Who the heck knows , I sure don't ... Just stay out of the dumpster please ...

    I've thought the same thing for many years now , they have no idea on how to market the team to fill the seats full ... If I was in charge of marketing I would honor our history and have a killebrew day , Oliva , Carew, blyleven , Puckett and kaat day ,,, Do it during the dog days of summer and us old timers would show up and fill the seat to honor our heroes of our youth ... Could you see a grandson asking who killebrew was and grandpa replying to grandson , Harmon was our most prolific homerun hitter the Twins have ever had , he hit 573 homeruns in his career , couldn't you just see the grandson eyes get huge and then he's hooked on baseball ... Let the kids learn our history of the Twins and senator's ... I for one would go to more games if they promoted our past players and history ...

    What pitchers won in the playoffs ... Lopez and gray ... Losing gray will hurt us in the playoffs if we make the 2024 playoffs , finding a pitcher for the playoffs is a must ... Don't add just a pitcher that can help win during the season , that is not the goal of the fans , sign or trade for a playoff caliber winner ... we can't go backwards , it's up to the front office to charge forward and get creative , don't close the window ... Payroll reduction , so the FO says , i hope it isn't a substantial reduction so we can add the pieces we need ... Pitching wins and our starters kept us in alot of games ...

    We had a very good draft this year , there are others to dangle , and I would only dangle position player , no pitchers like Soto , not yet anyway, haven't seen him in pro ball yet ...

    Since Stearns and counsell left the Brewers are the Brewers in a fire sale , if so wouldn't it be cheaper trading for a pitcher with Milwaukee if they want to dump salary ????

    Won't happen but could have been a nice fit for a short term deal , see payroll .... Good player but as mentioned his defensive liabilities are diminishing ... We have a DH already ...

    Pitching wins games , we have the pitching with just alittle tweaking , now we need a more balanced lineup ... The hitters are capable of hitting but they have no consistency to bunch hits together ... Cruz had 2 1/2 years of good baseball on a twins uniform ... Correa , finished his first year on a high note and opted out for free agency only to be re-signed for 6 years , jury out on that contract as of now ... Solano gave thexl twins value ... Vazquez gave us defensive value , will he work on being a better hitter in 2024 if he isn't traded ... Most of the other free agents were signed on hope that we could find some value , Bundy was a workhorse but the others were laughable ... Boy did I laugh in 2021 and 2022 with what we had for pitching , when certain relievers came in or extra innings occurred , we knew what the outcome would be ...
