I know these are earlier trades but they have more significant with the Yankees and Dodgers ... Cave traded to twins in exchange for luis Gil who is on the roster ... Maeda and others traded to twins in exchange for Graterol and Riley , graterol on dodgers roster ...

From all the posts posted so far , they are valid points ... i have to go with the offseason of 23 / 24 , , reducing payroll and deflating the fans optimizium , the bad trades , spring training preparation ( the veterans working out on the practices fields and not in game situations enough to get game ready for regularseason ) ... The plan continues to fail and that is on FO and manager and coaches , we've seen how bad third base coach is , he sends slow runners to there deaths at home plate and he holds the fleet afoot runners at third ...

Thanks for the memories , twins always makes the opposing pitcher look like a Cy young candidate .... Today and yesteryear ... Fernando was good for baseball , fans wanted to see him , in his early career when he was a stud , I don't think dodgers stadium had to many empty seats , alot of sellout crowds on nights he pitched .... Rest in peace Fernando , I hope there is baseball in heaven ...

Not giving up on Martin , he can improve if he works hard , 253 batting average isn't bad from a rookie ( we had alot more batters alot worse on this team ) , I think he can hit better and get more walks as he gets more experience and settles in against major league pitching , he looked like he had some jitters his first year as the game was too fast at times for him , they need to utilize his speed more , no power but if he cant hit for a higher average or walk more often and use his speed when he does get on base , he just might be a good lead off hitter to spark the team ( one can only hope ) ... Defense was below average in the outfield but it has been stated he played shortstop in the minors and he is learning the outfield on the fly in mlb , not fair to scrutinize his defense yet , give the kid the chance to adjust to the outfield , I take 3 years to evaluate a player ... Like jeffers ,,, jeffers is not going to be the consistent hitter the FO thought he might turn out to be , he has flashes and streaks but not consistency for 162 game season as catcher and DH , his defense isn't all that great either , I see more passed balls by jeffers , that are really called wild pitches ...

Popkins and crew get terminated for following a plan designated by the FO and Rocco ... Something might be wrong with this picture as the people that incorporated the plan are still here wanting to stay with the plan for 2025 by hiring borgschulte ... Let's hope we get more exciting and consistent hitting for 2025 ...

Should the Twins Sell High on José Miranda?
Blyleven2011 replied to Matthew Lenz's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
Every player on the roster is available to be traded if the price is right ... If a player is not in the team's long term future , the team should explore trades instead of losing the player for nothing ... I think the twins will try and trade players with a higher price tag this winter ... -

What Cleveland needs sounds exactly what the twins need ... 2025 , detroit and maybe Kansas City will be the team's to beat ... World series is set , could be a very memorable world series with the Yankees and Dodgers ... The playoffs were the most exciting games of the year for me , I hope Baldelli was watching for ideas on how to play a exciting game of baseball in 2025 , first year Cleveland manager Voit seems like a very capable manager in leading a team ...

The Twins Have a First Base Problem
Blyleven2011 replied to Greggory Masterson's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The twins have obvious problems on defense , the problem will be to find a solution to them .... We don't quite know how the 40 man roster will look like until November or December , players will get non tendered or be leaving as free agents .... Miranda's the obvious choice to give first base too , one last chance to prove he belongs in a defensive position , righthanded is a need to , got to stay healthy too ...- 85 replies

The one thing the batters need is a better approach at hitting , their guessing game of pitches are terrible and their terrible with discipline and can't lay off an outside pitch, they guess wrong way to often ( where are the scouting report's and are they accurate when giving them to the players )... Last but not least is they can't beat the better teams because they can't get hits and runs , but the worst teams they seem to hit and score double digit runs that muddy up these stats to make the twins look productive .... Just my eye test verses the stats ... Where are the 200 hit batters , the 100 rbi and 100 run scorer players , this all matters and if the twins keep playing this kind of baseball ( swinging for the fences or their eyes closed ) , you can forget any player will make the hall of fame ...

Ranking the Twins’ Worst Base Runners in 2024
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
The most surprising name NOT on the list is KEPLER ... yes he has speed but has been aweful on the bases for quite sometime , and its ridiculous to add Vazquez to the list , not many catchers are fleet afoot ... What bothers me about the players on the bases is their head isn't in the game at all times ... 1 . They forget how many outs ... 2 . They get picked off first base or thrown out at third base after double would have been sufficient enough to put them in scoring position ... 3 . They don't steal enough ... 4 . This should actually be no. 1 , the players aren't coached properly to run the bases , COACHING is a problem ... 5 . Play smart on the bases , STANTON IN THE PLAYOFFS actually was aware that the pitcher and infield weren't paying attention to him on first base and he stole second , he hadn't stolen a base in 4 years , Stanton is not the player he once was because of injuries , but if you play smart , even the slow afoot runners can steal bases ... 6 . They have a third base coach that sends the slow runners to their death to home plate and holds the fast runners at third base ( sorry I cant believe he is still our third base coach after so many blunders ) ...- 23 replies

I agree it is highly unlikely if either of Ober and Ryan are traded .... My take they will listen to trade talks about Pablo Lopez ... They will also explore the possibility to trade Correa to further right size the ship , Correa in my opinion is considering the notion to lift his no trade clause due to the unstableness of the organization ... I guess we'll see how the off season plays out ...

Offseason Primer: What Are the White Sox Up To?

Who was a worse embarrassment , the white Sox who were projected to finish last or the twins who were projected to win the division ??? ... -

Though this is good news and a step in the right direction for the organization and twins fans ... The key word is EXPLORE , so patience is necessary ... The pohlads are looking to cash in for 2 billion plus , the wolves sold for over value ( 1.2 billion ) , sold for 1.6 billion , the twins are valued at 1.6 billion , last I heard ... The pohlads could slap us in the face again as they head out the door if the team is sold , they most definitely will go after the highest buck and that owner may not like baseball either ( i rather doubt it though , you should like what you are buying , the pohlad boys inherited a team they didn't want ) , the pohlads didn't give a rats arse about it's fan base , just the big bucks ... Right-sizing the team , they may do more of that this off season , they may now reduce the payroll further now that they have announce the EXPLORE WORD , forget what Joe announced earlier about payroll , they can do what they want since they know how the fans feel about them and to help out a prospective new buyer by having a lower payroll ... A buyer like the wilds owner who wants to win and spends to the cap is what we need ... Even if we are a mid market team , we can draw 3 million fans if the new owners promote the team right , that's the name of the business game to profit , promote a team and make them perennial winners ... I mentioned above about the pohlads , we should becareful what we wish for , because the pohlads could milk out what ever money they can and tear down the twins just to piss us off more ... But it will be worth it , if we get rid of the pohlads and if we get a new owner that cares about winning and cares about it's fans base ...

With Jax's pedigree I think he could go back to starting and be successful , for that reason the twins should keep him and see for themselves , yes we need relievers badly but we also need starting pitchers to , give him ten starts and see if he can be a starter ... Look what we gave up for Lopez at the trade deadline and I see this proposal to trade Jax not in our favor , I think the notion to trade Jax would be a mistake , he is definitely a top 5 relief pitcher in the league , ið be more inclined to trading Duran , but here we are after the collapsed 2024 season talking about trading our best two pitchers in our bullpen ... Give Jax 10 starts and if he doesn't flourish , put him back in the bullpen ...

Yep , some pitchers could really hit , I was sad when the NL added the DH and no more hitting pitchers , loved to see a pitcher hit and win the game for himself by hitting a HR , I think Thor was the last one to do it , shutout opposition and hit a homerun , won it with his arm and bat , ohtani pitches and hits , or did with California ...

Ex twin luis tiant .... Great years of watching him , gone but not forgotten ... RIP El tiante ... I think he might be on the committees list for hall of fame in January , tiant with his pitching style and years of production should be in the HOF , REMEMBER wins don't count anymore , it's how you play the game and he pitched with style ...

The defining moments for the twins was reducing payroll and not replacing sonny gray or anyone of significance for the 2025 season ... They also live on hope of our prospects who they don't coach properly in the major leagues , they are coached in aaa for aaa games but our coaches and manager dont take that talent to another level in the major leagues ( they are ruining our talented players ) ... They also hang on to veterans or a player that should be dfa'd or optioned to minor leagues ... there is more but these are some defining moments ...

Rocco Baldelli is Heading Into a Must-Win Year
Blyleven2011 replied to Cody Christie's topic in Twins Daily Front Page News
As long as the topic is about Rocco Baldelli ... A dream debut , I wish everyone would stop with the praises in his first year as manager , get it right , he didn't manage during that season because the players had career years , all he did was make out a lineup to present to the umpire .. then in his dream debut as manager of the 2019 he had to manage and he and the FO failed miserably ... Rocco still had the Bomba squad in 2020 and did okay ... 2021 -22 was just aweful , Rocco doesn't seem to take his job seriously as a manager , he is also a coach and his duties are to take the talent and keeping teaching the players to be a better talent , he and his coaches fail ... 2023 , finally we have pitching and the pitchers are allowed to go more than 5 innings , pitching wins games and makes a managers job easier , it was a bad start but a great finish .... 2024 , the writing on the wall was written during the offseason , we had okay starting pitching ( bullpen on paper was solid but didnt meet the challenge ) , but more of the same , our lineup was not fun to watch and defense got worse as the season yet along , again Rocco and coaches did not take the talent they had and make that talent better , there were a few sophomore slumps to start the season and it was also a slow start for alot of the players except Jeffers ... They get off to slow starts because it seems the twins play mostly the rookies or prospects in spring training game , the veterans work out but don't get much game time action to prepare for the season , ( restting players doesn't seem to keep our players off the injured list ) .... 2025 I don't see much of change unless he will implement more strategies of old school technics along with his analytics and more emphasis on defense and fundamentals ... I've heard Rocco say he expects his players to be ready to play , but no batting practice or infield / outfield practice is required , boy look how the team performed in 2024 , if Rocco can't see the players weren't prepped before the game and ready to play , he better start the season with a new prescription , I hope Rocco won't be an embarrassment again in 2025 , i want exciting competitive baseball , ( win or lose ) ... It's along off season , I hope the 3 ghost of Christmas visit the pohlads , Front office and Rocco at Christmas and they see the light and can give us a happy new year ...
