    Calvin firing the manager after that spectacular season ... I was a youngster but the adults were furious that Calvin fired Martin , it was a fun year and they gelled with Martin's winning personality ... Never have I witness fans being so upset about a manager getting fired ... Well 3 grear seasons to go , isn't hard to figure out the next 3 , I just won't give nothing away at this moment ...

    19 years in the big leagues , he had a good career , players and media around the league liked him ... I hope he goes the distance and remains on the ballot for 10 years , I doubt he will ever get the necessary 75 percent to get elected ... But at least for the 10 years we can say he was a minnesota twin ... Tori played a good game ...

    Joe Ryan went to driveline during the off season before the 2023 season , he had a very good start to the season before the injury bug got him ... Did Ryan go back to driveline this off season ??? I heard mention that he did but not sure it was confirmed ...

    I was going to state that also but I've stated it so many times we need an owner that loves and wants to win games ... This ownership should sell because they can't keep up with the Joneses They could get nearly 2 billion for a team they paidsaround 45 million ... The Timberwolves wolves sold for what 1.6 billion and they were only valued at 1.2 billion , I feel the Twins are worth more than the Timberwolves sold for ...

    There is currently 38 players on the 40 man roster , yes there is still room but when the addition come is anyones guess ??? FO should have started working on trades way back in general managers meeting and at the winter meetings ... I'm sure they did , but waiting for other teams to decide and figure out what they need from the Twins ... Hate that the owners of all the effected teams are crying about the lost revenue ... I was in business , I lived by this quote ... You Can't Make Money All of the Time But You Better Make Money Most Of The Time .... Now is the time to lose money during the regular season and make it back in a deep run off the playoffs and world series appearance ...

    Makes sense , now that they are over the first threshold , they might as well get alittle more help in pitching and go for another title , I thought maybe their window was starting to close last year , they still have a great lineup but age is creeping up on some ...

    Someone please tell Louie varland to be less rude an kinder to the seniors citizens at spring training ... Last year I notice some senior citizens talking to players and Louie came over and yelled at them and I quote ( we dont come to your place of work and interrupt you , do we ) , little immature , yes he's got a job to get ready for but he also has an obligation to treat the fans with respect , all the seniors were doing was congratulating some younger players and wishing them well ... I'm sure others saw and heard it to , I was 5 rows back of the field and I heard it ... I talked to the seniors and they said they were done coming to spring training if some players were going to be rude to them , i remember eddie Rosario was rude to the fans back in 2017 or 18 ... I like Varland and his hard work he has put in to his craft , I hope he isn't belligerent to the young fans and he can clean up his act and be kind to all fans ...

    How I look at it , the starting pitching trade market has stalled for all the other 29 teams ... Our front office hasn't even started to replace our strengths from last years lost starters ( this should be their priority ) ... subtract, subtract and subtract to save a buck ... Starting pitchers won the season last year for us with the lineup helping in the last half of the season ... Everyone needs pitching and teams are signing alot of depth arms to minor league contracts , but no significant trades have been made recently ...

    Acala , Balazovic , Sands and Winder .... Once upon a time in Winder's rookie year I liked what i saw , spot starting and relief , what happened , has he lost his confidence , because he had confidence in his rookie year ... Sands has been a decent AAA pitcher but sitting him in the bullpen and not using him regularly on the MLB club , no wonder his walk rate is high ... Blazovic was once a promising pitching prospect , then he lost everything between the ears ... Acala has shown he cannot stay healthy but probably has the best stuff of this group of 4 ... We need someone of the 4 to step up and EARN the roster spot in the bullpen , SOMEONE has to be awfully hungry , LET the competition begin ...

    Or maybe it's time to see if Duran can be that number 2 starter , Duran was a starter in the minors with no experience as a reliever , but injuries derailed his minor leagues as a starter and he made the team as a reliever in 2022 out of spring training ... Just a thought ...

    Just like yesterday I stated I like Vazquez defense better ... I think they both will split the 162 game schedule ... Still not sure what to expect from Jeffers year to year , he has shown some improvement and potential , but this year might be the deciding evaluating year to really know what type of player he will be for his career ... Vazquez should be better at the plate than last year , can't be any worse ...

    Catcher is important position for a team , they are the leader on the field ( or at least they used to be ) ... I'll take Vazquez defense over Ryan , and any hitting Vazquez does Is a plus , he shouldn't be any worse than last years batting average ... New team and adjustments might have been a factor for Vazquez in my opinion and Twins fans might just be praising Vazquez if he does take a step forward in 2024 ... Jeffers is an average catcher , and maybe above average hitter , this year we'll see the real evaluation of Jeffers and what he will be in his career ....

    Correa won't hit 500 homers or maybe not 3000 hits , but ... Correa is a good defensive shortstop with a cannon arm ... On offense he needs to pick up more rbis , runs scored per year , be a clutch hitter and lead the team , he's a good teammate and most players respect him except the dodgers ... everyone says you start to decline at a certain age , but there are exceptions that some players just continue on pace , who knows maybe he'll start hitting 200 hits per year ... If he can win mvps , allstar selections , gold gloves that will help his status for the hall of fame ... In any case if he hits around 280 and plays great defense for his career he will be considered for the HOF ...

    Glad to have you back and thoughts and prayers for a fast recovery ... You didn't miss any Twins decisions except some awful minor league signings for depth maybe , none of them are encouraging ... but alot of action with other teams , free agent signings , trades and of course minor league signings ... Get well ...

    It's too bad miranda had the injury and sidelined his 2023 season ... I would expect Miranda is going to have to re-establish himself , most likely he will Start in AAA to prove he's on his game again ... I hope hexhas a fast start and shakes off the rust ...

    It would be nice if they reinvented themselves some .... We need to stay out of the double plays , if a man on first has speed put the hit and run on if the batter is a contact hitter , move the runner up to scoring position as often as you can ... If the batter is prone to strike out , steal a base if the runner has the speed ... There are Situations that call for this aggressiveness , cant play station to station if the batters aren't making contact to move the runners into scoring position , let's see what 2024 brings ... Or they aren't going to steal the weak division , they will have to work hard once again to win the division ... Let's play some fun exciting baseball from start to finish this coming season ...

    Last I heard dipoto had said he wasn't trading any starting pitchers after trading Ray to subtract payroll ... But it's an interesting thought on desclafani , let's wait until spring training is just about to start and see if Seattle has added that infielder they are looking for or our front office has pulled a miracle out of there hat ... Keep rubbing you rabbit's foot ...

    My thoughts on them is that the 2022 draftees showed some good promise ... Let's hope they continue that promise and have great careers ... I followed them last season in the minors ...

    I remember the the opening road series , swept the royals , and won 1 out of 3 against the marlins , and arraez was in the marlins lineup but I'm sure he was happy to see his old friends the Twins though ...

    Hello Brandon , I almost gave you a thumbs down , but you are right the 2 teams in the world series were just season contenders and anything can happen in the playoffs ... I would like the Twins to be stronger contenders than a team that can just win a weak division , we had a good second half of 2023 to win the division and won some playoff games , we had confidence that we were going to break the losing streak and we did ... That confidence has been lost so far this off season as we haven't added any strength back into the rotation after losing gray and maeda ... Pitching is what kept us in alot of games last year and won some playoff games ... Where's the confidence if we don't add a quality starting pitcher for the playoffs, i don't want another dreadful 2 years like 2021 and 2022 ...
