  1. Lefthanders over 30 doesn't scare me me in the least , in the past we have had many successful left handers pitch late into their 30's ... Montgomery has decent career numbers and only has a total of 755 innings pitched in MLB , controls the zone well , of the three lefthanders mentioned Montgomery would be my option ... Rodriguez didn't pitch in 2020 , was he injured ??? , had personal problems first year with Detroit and injured this year , also opted out of his contract ... Snell , I'm not sure what you would get , he hasn't been the Same pitcher since leaving Tampa though this year was pretty good ... I really don't see the team signing any of them due to cost but one never knows exactly what the FO will do except they are slow at making decisions and playthe waiting game ...
  2. 2023 was a year of depth so the front office will certainly try to duplicate that again for 2024 ... Bringing back a centerfielder or a first basemen is probably the highest priority for depth ... Taylor back ... Gallo gone gone gone ... Pagan , I just don't know what to expect from him , has he really turned into a trusting arm for the bullpen after 4 years of why is this person a MLB player ...
  3. Just a bit outside ... Outside the box you forgot to mention Bob uecker but wild horses couldn't pull him out of Milwaukee ....
  4. I'd have agree with everyone's posted assessments , relief bullpen arm , long relief is also a good possibility ... For someone that hasn't pitched alot and for them to say he's got filthy stuff says alot for him , I like to see it for myself ... Yes bullpen seems likely and makes the most sense for this year because of his history of injuries ... Ober to had injury concerns throughout the minors and in mlb but he managed to stay healthy this past season ...
  5. Bottom of the ninth .... Arizona needs a BIG crooked number ...
  6. Lewis is a great addition to the lineup , I see him swinging at to many pitches outside the box low and away especially ... I'd like that to be cleaned up and a better eye would increase his walk rate ... I definitively have no problem with royce Lewis hitting grand slams , he is a game changer ...
  7. Sad news indeed , I always enjoy dick and his partners ... Won't be the same , herb carneal was an all time radio broadcaster , we got used to the next team of radio announcers , we will get used to dicks replacement to , but he will be missed in the booth ... Success in your new chapter of life Mr Bremer , go-to Florida and visit your friend bert ...,
  8. Got hit with a line drive to right elbow , tried to pitch through it , went 4 innings
  9. Arizona needs to get the scoring going ,, wake up the crowd ... Let's make a game of it ...
  10. Weird how the visiting team scores more runs than the home team ... It has seemed that way to me throughout the playoffs and world series ....
  11. About time walker gets going , he's struggled through the playoffs and world series , got a hit late in second game but before that not much , a baserunning mistake and he's out at home ...
  12. Just waiting for the game to Start ... A good competitive game with some old fashioned baseball thrown in ...
  13. We are overloaded with infield talent , that can change during off season with some trades ... Even if we make trades I don't see Lee in the majors until around the deadline of 2024 but could be wrong and he proves himself ready and be up in mid april , also shortstop are athletic and can be moved to another position ( groom him for left field ) ...
  14. Soto and Alonso are not realistic , no team control , FO would never consider a trade would they , had they won the world series this year then I could see the FO trading for either of them to defend a title for 2024 ... Santander is a switch hitter but do we have the pitching to trade for him , he's had a few decent years ... McCormick strikes out to much , we don't need that even with 3 years of control ... We already have strikeout artists we don't need another one ...
  15. Arizona for me , but a competitive 7 game series is also important to me and i think we will have one ... Good analysis of both teams , I like good baseball games that are entertaining to watch and this has been some very good baseball games on defense in playoffs and world series ... The heart breaker for Arizona in game 1 was a good comeback for Texas , game 2 was a pitchers duel for 6 innings and then Arizona struck in the 7th , 8th and 9th innings with runs the old fashioned way and put the game away ... Both games were great suspense and glad the series is tied 1 game apiece going to Arizona ... Sure hope FO and Rocco are learning something ...
  16. Centerfield is more important than rightfield , resign Kepler but this off season trade Kepler .... Then we have the 8 million for Taylor , they have kept Kepler for his defense over the years , time to keep the defense in Centerfield ... Our front office should be approaching this concern before the players declare free agency , I'm sure he will get more playing time in the Twins outfield than anyone else's outfield , he seemed to be happy here and we were fortunate to have him ...
  17. Arizona Steals alot of bases to ... My style of baseball , get the runners on bases , get them into scoring position and hit them home , it's definitely working for Arizona ... Great defense in playoffs and now world series has been spectacular ...
  18. With the uncertainty of Buxton playing the field , it is necessary to get it right ... They did have an ace in the hole with Taylor as his defense was very good ... I think it is necessary to resign him for his defense to fill centerfield because of the unknown of Buxton , if Buxton can play then Taylor can be a defensive replacement late in the game ... He made some spectacular plays in centerfield and was fun to watch ... Defense is very important , the 2 playoffs ( alcs and nlcs ) had some of the best defense I have seen this year , the 2 games in world series has also had good defense , Arizona is playing with the big boys because of their defense ...
  19. No pitching mentioned in the article , every year it's the abundance of infield prospects we are talking about ,( trade this guy , play this prospect ) ... Of the three players that came up , Lewis and Julien have the most upside to be long-term players , Wallner I'm not sold on him yet , He has improved defensively , his lack of contact abilities lead to many strikeouts, both swinging and looking , Julien also gets called out to many times looking , I'd rather these players go down swinging on close pitches , than looking ... now the article mentioning Lee , severino and Martin I don't see any of them ready to make the team out of spring training , to many ifs offensively or defensively of the three ... Keep Polanco and Taylor , wallner can plug right field for now with that arm ... Get some pitching developed , Raya , Festa , Lewis , cullpepper and there is another one i can't remember from the draft of 2022 ... Trading Spencer Steer ( we needed pitching but got nothing but an injured arm ) , Steer would have led the Twins in almost all offensive categories ... It hurts but Cincinnati gave him his chance and he steered Cincinnati almost to a playoff position ...
  20. Started the season at AAA and things went bad for 3 month ... It's better he finished strong his last 2 plus months to prepare for spring training , he may start again in AAA but should have some opportunities in 2024 Twins ... Still young to give up on but next year will probably be the decisive season if he stays on the 40 man roster ...
  21. Send the two to driveline , get them straightened out with different coaching and voices ... When will preilipp be able to start his season next year , does he need a year of rehab again following latest surgery ???? As for driveline , there should also be some current players that want to save and improve their careers going this winter , larnach for one and if healthy Miranda , be ready to strike and hit the ball in spring training ....
  22. Triple A should be a fun season for the prospects in 2024 one step away from the show ...
  23. Last year 2023 was a great draft , besides walker Jenkins there is a good possibility that alot of prospects make the show from the draft class ... 2022 was a good draft class with Lee but not as strong as 2023 ... We should have a great future with these prospects ...
  24. Players get traded and thrive elsewhere ... We trade or sign players and they decline ... What's wrong with this picture ... To my eye test nothing but those that follow data driven statistics are painting a picture of his decline , if statistics are measured when a team signs a player then why haven't our FO been savvy enough to stay away from players that are declining ... Is it because they are cheaper , I don't know ... Correa was good in the field but has to learn not to go after a high inside pitch ... Correa is a fine shortstop for now ...
  25. It's nice knowing that people like our organizations people and we have given clubs permission to talk to him .... No body has said it yet , why didn't they come calling on falvey ... Mets went calling on Milwaukee's STERN and hired him away .... Just thought I'd mention it ...
