  1. Very confusing headline considering the 2nd, contradictory meaning of the word "goat"
  2. I believe the power of the sausage is real and it's actually making the offense good with its real magic.
  3. Rocco should be FIRED for not using the sausage every game this season
  4. This is a guess, how could something that hasn't happened yet tell me everything I need to know?
  5. Varland will be fine if he doesn't backslide on the fastball location thing.
  6. He nearly hit for the cycle the other day, and homered the game before that. Could be coming around.
  7. Correct, people complain that the cost of every streaming service they want to watch adds up to more than the cost of a cable package, but I don't need to be able to watch Stranger Things twelve months a year. No reason at all to subscribe to more than one or two services at a time. Also, someone earlier in this thread used the term "pay-per-view" and based on my schedule I would actually LOVE if I could treat a single Twins game like a digital movie rental and pay, say, four bucks to watch one regular-season game. I've got a toddler and I can only realistically sit down for a couple of whole games a month.
  8. OK, I understand why the Twins went with Bally again for one year, but what I do not understand AT ALL is, why not let Bally stream the Twins on their standalone app, just for this year? Were they unwilling to pay more for that? Then why not let them have the in-market streaming rights for free (just for the year)???? It doesn't cost the Twins any money and no one else is using those rights!!! Was Bally unwilling to stream the Twins because they're afraid of cannibalizing their cable subscriptions? I doubt it! They stream the Wild and Wolves! Did Bally lack the infrastructure to handle an influx in subscribers? Sounds like something that COULD be a problem in the parts of the season that overlap with the NBA and NHL regular seasons, but Bally has never shied away from offering a product they can't reliably deliver before! Was it just too difficult to draw up a new contract that included streaming rights??? If the Twins had wanted to, they COULD have got a deal done to provide us with a standalone streaming option for at least the same money, probably more, and chose to withhold it.
  9. The best possible outcome for baseball is that Ohtani isn't guilty but was involved just enough to get suspended for one year while he isn't pitching anyway. And then when he comes back he's sort of a bad boy who everyone can feel good about rooting against.
  10. That dock looks like a nice space but if I'm paying $1200 I don't want to sit in right field no matter how comfy the chairs are.
  11. Totally speculative paranoia on my part but I'm more afraid of injury than I am of Ober being plain old washed.
  12. Just saw Larnach is on the 7-day IL with turf toe, so he will probably not be immediately called up.
  13. This is pretty clearly the whole strategy - trade for risky starters in bulk and whoever stays healthy is your rotation. I think I mostly agree with the process.
  14. I wouldn't read too much into the Twins filling one of their most obvious offseason needs.
  15. I think the Twins should absolutely still get the best starter they can, but I don't think we're completely doomed. Last year at this time, the consensus was that the Twins had assembled a good crop of twos and threes but NO ace, and now we're wringing our hands about how we're going to get it done with only ONE ace. I'm definitely a bit nervous about depth.
  16. Ah, but what if we were to throw in a whole bunch of guys who aren't any good?
  17. I hope we bring him on as a free agent DH as a decorated veteran near the end of his long and illustrious career when our whole roster looks completely different than it does now. This would be after we've won two more World Series and are rebuilding and honestly need something to get excited about.
  18. I just drank one of these, pretty good approachable pale ale. Not the best thing on tap at Forgotten Star right now but it should appeal to pretty much anyone who likes craft beer.
  19. Big part of it is that it's a lot of work for parents too now that it's frowned upon to let kids that age run around unsupervised. Little league parents are the busiest people I know.
  20. Get Bally's as far out of the picture as possible as soon as possible. I watch the Wolves on their app, and they frequently have server issues and sometimes fail to stream entire games.
  21. I've got a bad feeling about the Twins' City Connect uniforms coming out hot on the heels of the new Minnesota flag.

The new flag is actually fine. I posted this before they finalized it and I think it's decent. An improvement over the old one. Not mind-blowing, but as good as or better than 75% of other flags.

The flag is boring and pathetically lacks meaning to what Minnesota is about.

It could've been a lot better but it's fine.

  22. Obviously I'd be delighted to see ticket prices go down, but they're already lower than any other major sport, and lower than the cost of other night-out entertainment options like going to a play or a concert. Concessions, on the other hand...
  23. Got a theory that the Twins trade Duran 1/1 for an OK starter they think they can optimize. He's the Luis Arraez of this offseason. A buzzy fan-favorite at peak value with an amazing skillset that the Twins FO doesn't value too much. They've always treated relievers as fungible. I think they seriously consider flipping him.

He could be our BP anchor for a decade. It would be stupid to trade him.

OR they could make him a starting pitcher.  I guarantee that if he is still in the pen when he hits free agency, he realizes how much more money he'd be making as a starter and will be gone like a fart in the wind.

The Twins have enough OK starters. They need a really good one.
