    Someone else here mentioned that our swings are often all or nothing and that we seem to be hitting grounder, grounder, grounder. I love the new analytics kind of baseball, but I've often wondered that while our current leaders do make decisions on these analytics that other teams are also doing the same thing, but doing a better job of using their analytics to adjust to our team's analytical decisions? Example - they know we're only going to try to hit with good launch angles and high exit velocity. Therefore - only give us pitches that are the hardest to hit with good launch angles or high exit velocity. That's how I'd pitch us.

    At least Gallo and Sano are gone? They are hitting 0.000 and 0.100 over the first week of the season. I was hoping once those 2 were gone our team average would increase - seems they were about average for us to start the year.

    Sure, the list isn't impressive - but what team has studs as their #6-10 starters just waiting for a chance. I'm sure Pablo was at one time sitting in the minors waiting for his chance to try it in the bigs.

    Of course - how could you not be encouraged. A year ago we had him penciled in as our long term 3rd base solution - it he can get back to where he was we'll be a better team for it.

    His year end WAR needs to match or exceed his discounted salary. I think that should be the goal for the rest of his career. He accepted an incentive laden contract due to health concerns. Hopefully he gets paid lots of incentives, but if now - we need to get at least what we are paying for.

    I'm not surprised to see this, but wasn't he just NL Championship MVP 2 years ago for Atlanta?

    Cuddy would have my vote - Has perspective of so many different on-field roles over the years. Also always thought he was very well spoken. Would like to see if Dozier could have a guest spot as well to give it a try.

    With their inference that they are losing money - do any of us really think they'll sign anyone at all? I, for one, am skeptical.

    Thats a good 5 - I think the top 4 all will be able to contribute when called upon. I really think the wild card is Miranda - How fast can one person fall from great potential to will they ever play again! Sounds like the shoulder still isn't 100%. He's the real wild card - will he come back to pre injury skills, or is he simply going to always be battling pain? Hope he figures it out and contributes - could be a huge addition to our group!

    I would expect you're correct in what you're saying here - It will likely be Wallner instead of Larnach (as listed in the article) who start next to Buxton. I would expect this trade puts Larnach starting the year in AAA again.

    I agree with you completely - Their actions show what is really their priority and winning is not it.

    This reminds me of a poll I brought up here a few months back and didn't get much feedback on. My question was something like ' Do the owners care if they ever win another championship, or only if they make money". Yes, its a business. We know that. However, it makes it harder to be a fan when they so obviously demonstrate this is literally just another business to them - the fans don't matter. If we win, we win, if we don't....well, at least we got richer. Got the 20 year monkey off our back, so back to my original question - Do they (the owners) care if we ever win another championship, or do they only care if they make money every year?

    I understand why this is an article - people want to know. (I'm pretty confident if no spring injuries it will be Desclafani), but I think more importantly - who will be the 5th starter in late September. Any guesses on that TD?

    I think this article is spot on.... BUT, while some businesses would simply take the extra cash we're soon to get from our 1-year Bally deal and stash it away for increased payroll next year - does baseball operate that way? OR, will they simply absorb it into their profits and then next year the fans will need to worry if we are going to be able to field a competitive team? If they were to put it aside so that when next year arrives they can pay out these raises - I'm happy, but if the other option prevails - then we're back to where we started this year except with a higher on-the-books payroll than we started this offseason with.... and still no idea on tv revenues.

    Taylor has to recognize by now that all 30 teams have a starting CF on the roster already and he's not going to be able to compete for a full time role -UNLESS a spring injury happens (it will for some team). Seems he's banking on that happening so he will make at least close to what he wants and be able to get regular playing time. But - I'd love to play it over from last year letting him be our 4th outfielder - hopefully the new bally/amazon money will allow it.

    I feel pretty confident this will sort itself out due to spring injuries.

    Keep that last spot open and rotate it between all the guys with options remaining unless someone forces their hand by being a shut down guy.

    Embarrassed that they probably overpaid one young talented shortstop, while we have a variety of quality players in our system making less money than their one guy - nope! One person does not make a team, so I'm always happy to see other AL teams overpaying for players - means we might be able to get someone within our budget because their money is already all spent. At least thats what I tell myself....

    For a team that watches its payroll closely- I see no reason to extend him with younger, cheaper players already in our system. Its that simple for me if I were in the FO.

    I am also in Iowa and it was blacked out - so my assumption is that it will continue to be blacked out.....not happy.

    I just don't see this happening. 1 - He's not the Santana of the past at his age 38 season 2 - I really think this team likes having the ability to fill the DH role by slotting it with someone who needs a day off in the field. This ownership likes its players to be able to handle multiple/different roles. Having someone who can only play DH and 1B contradicts that plan.

    Glad to see Sabato getting an invite to spring (has he been there before and i missed it?). Have heard a lot about him - most of it not great - but would be nice to see how he does against this higher level of pitchers.

    Would love to see them on streaming somehow. Only reason I have DirecTv at the moment is so I can watch them. Don't need yet another streaming service, so Amazon would be fine since already have that one.

    Will you sell the pint glasses to the public who are unable to attend? I have one from the pandemic year, but would like to see if can add to my collection every year, even if I live out of state and can't attend.
