  1. Nice win Twins! Let's take the series Thursday afternoon. God I miss Provus on the radio broadcasts. Attaberry is too hard to follow. He spends more time talking about other things unrelated to the game. It seems the calling of the game has become secondary. I wonder if he realizes there is an actual game going on? Part of a radio sports announcers job is to paint a picture of the game in the listeners mind. All you get with Atterberry is a blur.
  2. Great job thus far SWR. I think your good season will continue throughout the rest of the season. At this point you are ROY worthy. But I don't think SWR will win it. Keep up the great work SWR
  3. I understand the satire and sarcasm. With Kepler it's well worth it. He has a history of nagging injuries that tend to keep him on the bench. The fact that this FO repeatedly let's him get by with it is incredulous. All it does is hamper the Twins. They needed to send him on the IL several days ago. You can't help but question his desire to play. He needs to go after this season.
  4. Not looking good for the Twins at this point. Simply put Cleveland is just a better team than the Twins. Although our great radio announcers keep blaming bad luck, bad umpiring, and bloop hits that always seem to go against the Twins. It's obvious to them that the Twins never get those bloopers. After today Cleveland plays 4 against the free falling Royals then e against the hapless White Sox. Twins need to stay afloat. This is such a Jeckyll and Hyde team.
  5. This is a fairy tale. First just the finances don't fit the direction this club is headed. Mor importantly is they don't have enough in the tank to help this club. They should be pitching for the geriatric team at the nursing home. Get serious
  6. It's always hard to project a prospects abilities to play major league baseball. The Twins and Rocco make it harder. The argument that there's no one to remove from either the 40 or especially the 26 man roster is ridiculous. Lee deserves a chance. Maybe he isn't ready idk. Maybe he is. The Twins are 8 games above .500 and 7 games out of first place. They are 12-21 against teams with winning records. If the FO doesn't feel there is room for improvement then we have a long boring rest of baseball this year. Plus calling up a prospect and having him play 3-4 days per week due to Roccos extreme penchant for left/ right platooning doesn't do a prospect much good. Nor the Twins.
  7. No. What a ridiculous argument. Why take him out of an element that he is good at?
  8. To me the best moves would be to dump Margot and farmer. Bring up Lee and Wallner and let them play regularly. Funderburk obviously is not a major league calibre pitcher. We've lost too many prospects in some recent trades and haven't gotten much of anything in return.
  9. Twins are giving up an awful lot of runs lately. I also would prefer Lee and Wallner in place of Margot and Farmer. This FO is so stubborn and unwilling to admit mistakes and move on from them. We have a manager in Rocco that lacks common sense and managerial Instincts. I sure miss Cory Provus on radio. The broadcasts have become a soap opera atmosphere. Do they realize there is actually a game going on?
  10. Right from the start it was apparent Rocco didn't care if they won or lost. To not start two of your hottest hitters and the put in a seldom used guy at shortstop and an almost never use second baseman it's totally ridiculous. I don't like Rocco and never have. Last year it happened that he had both Correa and Buxton off at the same time. He said he didn't know how to fix that. Really?? I'm sure Jackson will clear waivers again. He will then go to st. Paul and be recalled by the Twins again. Like ive said before if we don't have anyone better in the organization than Jackson then this team is in trouble. God I miss Corey Provus on the radio. So eone should let Atteberry know that there is an actual game being played on the field.
  11. Shame on AK. Shame on Rocco for throwing AK under the bus when the team has apparently been treating his sore back for weeks. Bottom line is AK should be traded this summer. I've backed him for years but I think he has burned hus bridges here.
  12. Sloppy game but it happens. Twins leaving Staumont to pitch after he walked three and hit a batter is confusing. How he lucked out of it is also confusing. Rocco would have been roasted if that had been the win ING run. Things happen. They lost, oh well. Hope they get the game in today. Gosh do I ever miss Cory Provus on radio. Atteberry is so hard to follow.
  13. Very nice win while battling the rain. Lopez is a concern. He's supposed to be our ace but so far the mantra it's early and his advance metrics are good is ringing shallow. If we are to be successful we need him. Margot is now 0 for 19 pinch hitting yet we keep sending him out there . I'm concerned about jackson. Why is he on the roster. If we don't have anyone better than him in our system we are in a world of hurt. But a lot of positives. Correa is hot!!! Bottom line: just win baby.
  14. Absolutely no to this trade proposal.
  15. Interesting. The Twins are kind of in flux. They beat up and pad individual and team stats against some very bad baseball teams yet are lije 12 games below .500 against teams with winning records. Yes I agree the young prospects need to step up and show what they can do. But that is hard when Rocco usually only plays them half the time. Are these prospects as good as all the hype? Or is it mostly JUST hype? Its hard to know because they don't get enough playing time and situational playing. I think the Twins, even with several areas of weakness, will not do much if anything by the trade deadline.
  16. Yes. Farmer has run his course. It's time to move on. It's also nearing time for fi al decisions on players like Kiriloff Julien Wallner and others. If you have no future plans for players like these that have been hyped to the max even overhyped, then trade them to another team. This "process not results" philosophy surely isn't helping the team and definitely not the players. Calling these prospects up and then only play them part time does no one any good.
  17. Lewis is so fun to watch. He just needs to stay healthy. I am much higher on him than I ever was on Buxton. Let's remember we are beating very poor bottom feeding teams. We have a terrible record against winning teams. Im glad they beat these cellar dwellars and beef up individual stats. But they are not good teams at all.
  18. Carlos has been good for the Twins. 200 million dollar good? That's still up for debate. He is on a very hot streak right now. It's great. But as all hot streaks go it will simmer and Carlos will return to reality as a good shortstop and good player. IMO a 3 week hitting binge, while great and well needed, against several bottom feeding teams tempers it to some degree. I don't think the Mets and Giants have any regrets nor should they. They saved a lot of money. The Twins have Correa and are happy.
  19. Ice article. Well written and researched. Perhaps over researched. It seems to me it's simply a question of starting or relieving and what's best for the Twins and Varland. All the other data mentioned seems important only to Rocco and his ridiculous spreadsheets.
  20. Nice comeback win against another bottom feeder. If we could just get major league baseball to revamp the playoffs so we could face these terrible teams we might go deep in the playoffs lol. If Lewis isn't hurt he should be playing. If he was available to pinch hit late last night he should have. Lewis needs to play! We won despite our manager. Rocco is a very poor manager.
  21. Good article. Even greater responses from many of you posters. Very well researched by you all. Than̈ks for all the information. Count me in with the people that don't like the new analytical brand of baseball. It is boring and too antiseptic. It's smart to use analytics to aid your team. But Rocco overplays it way too much.
  22. It's amazing how one blowout game against a lousy Colorado Rockies team sku things for so many. Yes they won. They should be walking all over teams like that. We are in the midst of another 13 game schedule of bottom feeders. Let's take advantage all weekend against Oakland. IMO one reason we do not have a better record is because we have a mediocre manager. He's permanently attached to his analytical spreadsheet and has very little feel for the game itself. Play Lewis everyday. It's time to dump Rocco and Falvey
  23. How can the young players, prospects, be expected to perform well at the major league level when many times they are relegated to part time status with the Twins. They need to play regularly to develop. To have them play a bench role or a role in Roccos strict platoon system seems ridiculous. Perhaps Kirilloffs days as a Twin are numbered. Perhaps also that the team handles their playing g time very poorly. Perhaps also that many of these prospects are just not that good. Perhaps our scouting and development personnel needs to be looked into.
  24. That's what I meant in a sarcastic way. I know we lost last night. Played poorly all game. I mean he should really have no problems against Colorado. But the way he has pitched this year I wouldn't be surprised if he loses it again. Go Twins.
  25. Correa is a very good shortstop. I think he's a little overrated at least when compared to what he is being paid. You don't get much for 35 million a year anymore. 200 million guaranteed. I don't think we have gotten value. I think he's a steady reliable fielder with only average to slightly above average performance. Bottom line is I'm glad he's on the Twins but I sure wish he would perform at the level he's getting paid for.
