  1. At this point I see him as a below avg. hitter. I don't see any thing changing until Buck changes. Time to work a little more in the cage on a toned down 2 strike approach. Let it rip until 2nd strike then stay on the pitch and hit where its pitched!
  2. At this point I would use Larnach in left as soon as his toe is better. I have hopes for AK but he looks lost now. I don't know how much more Kiersey has to prove before they clear a spot for him.
  3. I would much rather get a starter with some remaining time or a top starter on an expiring contract.
  4. I miss Dick! Provus is better than most though. I would like to hear if the corners are in or back, and which direction the wind is blowing. The stuff you don't see when the AB's are going. And where did he come up with the way he says Vazquez?
  5. I hope some of these guys can continue to improve so Varland can be used as a reliever.
  6. I hope they give Julian some reps at 1B while he's in AAA. Thinking of the future. have Julian at 1st, Lee at 2nd, Lewis at 3rd, Correa at SS, seems like a pretty good infield.
  7. Looks like a left field/DH rotation of some sort, between Larnach (who IMO should be the regular) and AK, and Miranda at DH, or filling in for Lewis a couple of times a week?
  8. It doesn't seem to matter if Vazquez plays 3 days in a row? The answer would be someone who could catch besides those 2, or getting rid of Vazquez, which I don't see this FO doing.
  9. yet he's in every other day. I agree he shouldn't be. but Rocco wants his platoon. at least at DH he could be PH for.
  10. I understand that, but if Jeffers caught then Vazquez could be PH for w/o losing the DH spot. Only against lefties that is.
  11. It would depend on what has to be given up IMO.
  12. I don't know why they have Vazquez catching when facing a lefty. If he plays he should be DH so he can be PH for. At least, they should have had him bunting with runners on. I've got no problem letting him catch, just seems to me they don't take advantage of the situation when they can.
  13. Castro has been a very good pick up. He has become a valuable piece of this team. Now if he can improve the one area he is lacking in, hitting with RISP, he will be in the running for team MVP.
  14. The people that complain a lot about this FO must not have been around, or forgot the days of Calvin.
  15. I agree that Margot should be the one sent down or released, but My guess is either Julian or AK will be the one sent down.
  16. Wasn't that last season when the Yanks were having a down year? They seem to be playing very well this year.
  17. I would wait a little longer. Wouldn't want him to face Yankees in NY, but maybe against Pit?
  18. When Lewis is ready I can see Julian going down to AAA unless he suddenly gets hot here. If that happens, I would work him at 1B there. Then when Lee is ready he can slide into 2B. A platoon of Julian and Miranda at 1B looks like the way to go next year.
  19. Put Miranda at 1B against RH, let AK or Larnach DH, Against LH Santana at 1B with Miranda DH.
  20. Looking at Kep's results, he shouldn't change a thing!
  21. Sometimes I wonder if any of the players read this stuff. It seems like quite often someone gets bashed on here and then he comes up and does well the next few days.
  22. The main thing I look at is results. So far so good. Now he just has to get better at pitching more innings. He is quite young yet so there is some time for improvement.
